Omg yay!!! Called ahead to place my order. On the drive to pick it up, I received a text alert my pizza was ready! Wohoo-I'm so excited for a drive thru pizza!! As a first time mom, this just makes it easier for me so I don't have to get baby in and out of the car. I met Alex who is one of the owners. He radiates positivity and is so upbeat I love it! Got a slice of cheese pizza and of course it was great. Also ordered a speciality pizza the parmigiana. I LOVED it! My boyfriend said the eggplant was too soft for his preference but I like it that way. Delicious! I will definitely be back to try other items. They're fairly new still but I'm sure they will thrive! Especially with summer coming up. read more

Food to begin with is mid, not the best pizza within a mile radius by far . Customer service is probably some of the worst I've experienced in a while, and lack on knowledge for some of the people working there is wild. I asked for a slice of bbq and slide of pepperoni, proceeds to charge me for the order than after the fact tells me they don't have pepperoni and only has bbq , I asked for cheese instead as he said they didn't have pepperoni, he then rudely states again that he would have to make the pizza , I literally just asked for cheese not pep like I had ordered. Welcome to Clairemont, Pit Stop Pizza! Located on Clairemont Drive just south of 7-11 is an unassuming little drive thru that packs a punch. Order ahead or drive thru for the full effect. Either way, you will enjoy a variety of authentic thin crust pizza options, salads, and a number of tasty appetizers. We ordered a pepperoni and black olive pizza. The crust was thin and perfectly cooked. The pizza wasn't drowning in sauce, but had just the right amount. We also ordered the arancini and they were crispy, crunchy and packed with flavor. Unlike other arancini I've had elsewhere which usually have too much saffron, these didn't have any (that I could detect). An order of arancini includes three pieces--enough to share. We look forward to many more trips to Pit Stop to sample all they have to offer. **UPDATE** I have been back to Pit Stop a few more times since this review. While the pizza is still very good, the ordering platform timing has been consistently off by as much as 20 minutes. I've had to wait in the cold for the pizza to be ready with just a nod rather than an apology for the wait. Seems like operationally they may still be getting their bearings (understandable!), but be prepared for your pizza to be delayed by at least a few minutes. read more

Really, supremely fantastic pizza! I ordered later in the evening and it was ready for pickup super quick in about ~15 minutes. Dudes in the shop are nice and pickup in the drive through is pretty easy. Crust was spot on- thin, a bit of char on the bottom, nice bite. Toppings were liberal and fresh. Sauce is sweet, acidic and delicious. Cheese was perfect. Pizza absolutely rivals and exceeds that of Regents. I will absolutely be back and this will be a problem for my wallet. read more

Okay where to start ! It's located right next to the 7/11 but can be easily missed if you're not paying attention. So last night around 9 I ordered two pizzas. One pepperoni and one meat lovers. They only have one size which is 18in and it is New York style. The concept is pretty cool, it's best to call in or order online then wait to be texted once your order is ready. I didn't do that so I ordered and paid then went across the street while I waited. The 2 pizzas were just enough for my family of four we had 4 pieces. The pizza was simply delicious. It is on the lighter side due to the thinness but it doesn't take away from the taste. Now let's talk about Alex the owner! If you have limo tint all the way around your vehicle please roll your windows down to avoid giving him a heart attack Lol. Alex was so very kind and we had good laugh about my tint. He thoroughly explained the process to me and gave accurate recommendations. I will certainly eat here again. *The only thing I will advise is to be mindful of the steep hill after the 2nd window you have to go down to exit but it's probably not suitable for cars that are super low to the ground. * read more

The food was inedible. Eggplant Parmesan had at least a measuring cup worth of oil sitting at the top of the container when we got home. Garlic Knots were literally sitting in a pool of oil in the container. The food was disgusting. Those are my complaints. Ambiance of the drive thru and service don't deserve a mention - the food was so bad no other details matter. read more

I called in a veggie pizza with pesto. It had been too long since I had been there. The guys are great! The pizza is so fresh and just the right amount of spinach, ricotta, mushrooms and garlic. Pesto has become my fav instead of marinara sauce. The crust is just the right flavor and consistency. Crisp and not too thick or thin...love it! I have never have felt that pizza overstuffed feeling after eating at Pit Stop. Always just right! By the slice is a terrific option too! The drive through concept is so convenient. The patio is enjoyable as well! My dog loves it there! Salads I have had in the past were super good! Wanting to try the new handmade pasta dishes soon! Today was a cold rainy day in San Diego so what's better than fresh hot New York style pizza anddddd you pick it up in a drive thru to stay dry!! I love this place!! My husband absolutely loved his pizza and the crust was one of the best he's ever had. My pasta was fresh and had a ton of sauce and cream so they didn't skimp at all. I could tell easily that they use very high quality Parmesan because i'm a Parmesan connoisseur and could taste how potent it was. They let me have as much extra as I wanted on without limiting since I enjoy a lot on it which was also a plus in my book. Next time I would get a pasta that's a little lighter, because it was a more heavy dish and it tends to make me feel pretty full after which is totally a me thing, but they have so much on the menu to try that I'm sure I'll love whatever I get even more next time. Lastly, dessert. We got a regular tiramisu and it was absolutely amazing. They put a ton of cream which is exactly what I look for. It wasn't too espresso or cocoa strong and had a perfect ratio. I had seen a previous review on here about someone not liking the tiramisu here and it not meeting their expectations for a more upscale Italian place but I've been to quite a few authentic Italian gems and this one had tiramisu up there so I'd have to disagree and completely recommend! The service was impeccable. Every waiter was kind and prompt, constantly making sure we were taken care of and getting what we needed. The atmosphere was also a plus for us because we have a 1 year old baby and there was enough room where we weren't too cramped or crowded in, and it wasn't too loud or overstimulating. The place was very clean and taken care of as well as the bathrooms. All in all, I loved this place and I will be coming back. I would definitely recommend Monello for a nice little date night, and don't forget the tiramisu.

After we got our drinks and sip on them, it took us a bit of time to decide what we wanted. We all know that the burger here is fantastic! However, this evening, we decided to try new things. We ordered: Pappardelle Bolognese with Added Meatballs, Pappardelle Bolognese as it is normally prepared, and a Caesar salad with shrimp added. Our food was out within about 10 to 15 minutes and everything was prepared perfectly. I have to say that we really enjoyed dining in this location and we may need to come back here more instead of traveling to the Del Mar location sometimes. Our server was super customer service oriented and we appreciated her. She went above and beyond to get the orange crush drink to be unique like an Italian soda for my daughter. We were super stuffed and could not do dessert, but we did promise to come back to enjoy the lava cake at a future time. Overall, this was an excellent visit and we appreciate the staff in the great energy that we received at this location. I do highly recommend it.

The funniest part was actually finding the place. We kept looking at the Yelp photos of the exterior, and the logo made us think the restaurant was in a large standalone building. Our Tesla kept navigating us to the same location, but we couldn't find what we expected. On our second pass, FSD actually pulled us right in front of the entrance--even in a red zone for a brief moment--just so we could finally see the Starlite sign. It honestly felt like the car knew we weren't recognizing the place. It was such a funny experience that made FSD seem almost human. Once inside, we were blown away. The interior is absolutely top-notch--stylish, elegant, and full of character. The pistachio dessert and the chocolate mousse were pure heaven, rich, smooth, and beautifully presented. The hidden disco room with the waterfall is simply insane and adds such a unique vibe to the experience. Even the restrooms are thoughtfully designed and incredibly cool. If you make a reservation be sure to reserve the booth seats. Parking was HARD and nonexistent. Less than 10 parking spots provided by Starlite, then you need to drive through the hilly residential area for a spot. Drinks were decent but nothing special! You really just come here for the ambiance. Presentation was nice. Service could be better, was slow.
