Beef & Cheddar Sandwich with a side of Smoked Mac n Cheese
    Steph S.

I drive by this restaurant many times and finally stopped to enjoy a late lunch. We had sandwiches and a delicious smoked Mac n cheese- excellent smoke flavor! The brisket was tender and delicious homemade pickles. Since we were here midafternoon, there were two other takeout customers, so their staff was very attentive and pleasant. I look forward to the next time I am craving brisket.

It's always good to find a bbq joint, but it's even better when you leave full and not disappointed. I got the beef and cheddar with pit beans. The pit beans were tasty but tasted more like a chili to me. It's still good. The sandwich was delicious. The brisket was lean but still had a little fat and lots of flavor. Their mayo had a nice tang, and the cheddar was ok, but their kc bbq sauce was fabulous. It had a slight sweetness, but it wasn't just a typical brown sugar sweetness. I'm not sure what it was, but it's very good. It's worth every penny i spent, and the owners were very friendly and chatted some with me while i was there.

Always so happy with the food and service from Pit Take. When you eat here, you are directly supporting two BBQ experts. My favorite is their BBQ sundae, but they have a nice variety.

Great mom and pop bbq spot. I had the brisket and the pork. Perfect mix of fat, tender and bursting with flavour. Bark on the brisket was delicious although personally I usually prefer the bark to be a bit harder. The beans had a nice kick to them and the slaw was crisp and light on the mayo. Cornbread was fantastic with a nice honey drizzle. Atmosphere was a delightful homage to jazz and despite my personal ignorance of the subject it was clear the owner follows their deep passions and have made something wonderful. Highly recommend.

My 3rd visit since they opened and it has yet to disappoint. A new BBQ establishment is always a reason to celebrate, and even more so in this area of town. Unfortunately, their grand opening coincided with the pandemic outbreak which certainly threw them into the beginning stages of a business unlike no other. Business appears to be managing along nicely, and they have taken all the necessary precautions to keep it moving in a safe manner. The offers featured throughout the week are inviting, and help promote their place. In time, their indoor, and outdoor seating arrangements will become available. BYOB will be another treat to behold. Until then, they pack up a nice take -home order to enjoy. Very filling, nice menu options, and very friendly service.

We opted to do a late afternoon reservation at 4:30 and were very happy and sated after enjoying all the dishes we chose. Stand outs were the fried chicken and beef filet tenderloin. The carb loading was in full force with delicious stuffed shells, Mac and cheese and pierogis. All were worthy of second helpings, although I refrained! Actually all the hot entrees were very good. The salad bar was a bit disappointing and there was no one manning the pasta station. But there was more than enough other options to make up for that. Desserts were the only place there wasn't a huge offering. Most of my group opted for the Bananas Foster. They loved it! Our server was pleasant and regularly checked in to see if we needed water or to take away dirty dishes. And the atmosphere was pleasant with an industrial vibe. Now I'd like to return for a real meal, a dinner or lunch, not a buffet.

We had to eat with our jackets on. I looked around and so did everyone else. That cold plus the water I had with my meal made me have to go searching for a restroom. It was not conveniently located to the dining room, but on the other side of the bar. It was clean, but a hike to get to,

Menu items include French toast, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, sandwiches, salads, soups, and non-alcoholic beverages. My husband and I ate breakfast here one time. An employee promptly and kindly greeted us, seated us, took our order, and brought out our foods and drinks. I ordered the 14-inch buttermilk pancake with triple berries on top, and my husband ordered the sausage gravy 'n biscuits with two sunnyside-up eggs. Both foods were significantly larger than what we could fit into our stomachs, and they tasted very good. The total price was $27 with cash or $28 with a credit card plus a tip. Toast is extra, but the prices are reasonable for everything and portion sizes are sufficient. My daughter had a breakfast with hash browns and said they were cold, unfortunately. That is the only negative thing I can say. The restaurant and ladies room were both very clean. The walls are adorned with lots of funny farmhouse signs. the whole place is very country themed . Finally, my wife got the filet medium well and I got the snapper. Yes, anything over medium may be butterflied but hers was not and she loved it! Busy intersection, no windows, and a front door that doesn't work... but don't let that fool you. Entering through the patio entrance, the outdoor seating is an oasis somehow perfectly separated from the busyness just beyond the sidewalk. We opted to sit inside on a humid day.. simple but fitting! The menu is only tapas, but the small plates don't contain small flavors!! We love to split tapas with friends, so we ordered a table load and went all in. We selected: - Street Corn Dip - no notes. Gooey, well seasoned, and plenty of fresh corn! Abundance of chips, more than enough! - Bruschetta Flatbread - every available inch covered in fresh tomato, lacking in the balsamic glaze, but still a fresh, refreshing bite. Honestly, this is a huge tapas, 8 pieces and easily a meal on its own - Headkeeper Toothpicks - THESE ARE THE SHOWSTOPPER!! Clever concept, perfectly executed! Crispy tortilla wraps loaded with chicken, peppers, onions, and gouda. And DOUBLE dips!! - Banh Mi Eggrolls - large tapa with a big eggroll for all four of us. Crammed full of toppings and well seasoned - Balsamic Marinated Grilled Vegetables - great variety, one of each veggie, but a little too much oily sauce (Pro Tip - we cut these up and put them on top of the bruschetta - perfectly paired!!) - Cauliflower - large portion, almost half of a head of cauliflower, dripping with truffle oil, but soooo tender to eat - Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes - only 2, but packed with crab and delicious sweet-chili & coconut-lime sauce! - Lo Mein Bowl - another tapa that could be a full meal, tender beef, but the seasoning was just off for us And of course... DESSERT! Thankful to go on a double date where one from each couple wants to split desserts too. Why not try the best part of the menu too? Vanilla Crème Brulee - a perfect sweet blend of vanilla and custard with a scrumptious layer of brûlée Strawberry Scooter Crunch Cheesecake - decadent swirls of strawberry through the cheesecake and a crisp layer of scooter crunch all over Tell you what! The sauces and pairings show how ingenious this culinary team is... and looking at reviews, the menu rotates and I'll have to try some of the fun items that I've seen from other seasons!
