    Baklava Frozen Greek Yogurt

Actually very impressed by the flavor and value of this Greek spot! Counter service is fast and they bring the food to your table as well. Beef/Lamb Gyro Plate - definitely tastes more beef than lamb but still flavorful, hummus dips is garlicky and smooth, salad is very fresh, fries are thin crisp cut and not too salty, pita is pillowy soft, and rice is cooked well Baklava Frozen Greek Yogurt - the menu picture made me order this dessert and it did not disappoint, think of a plain tart froyo at your local spot with honey and semi-sweet baklava pieces mixed throughout Will definitely be back!

I tried a couple of meat plates which were good. The chicken skewers were juicy and tender. The gyro was savory and thinly sliced. I ordered a bowl of rice to go with the meat but it wasn't as fresh as I expected. Overall the food tasted good.

Stopped by today on lunch and got the Authentic pita with beef and lamb. The food quality was super fresh and tasty! The fries were also incredible! The restaurant was clean and service was fast! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because they don't have self serve sauces like some of the other Greek restaurants. But other than that I highly recommend

It was an astringent experience. It was a strong sensory feeling of dryness and contraction in the mouth, accompanied by a sharp, slightly bitter, and tart taste with the tzatziki sauce. Adding to the acerbic party in my mouth, the beef/lamb gyro was very salty and my taste bud were crying out for something fresh to get rid of the same boring taste all throughout each bite. Thankfully, I asked for the feta to be on the side which saved me from going to dehydration. Definitely not a recommended order, there's a lot missing in this item order.

Second time here and we love it every time! The protein is always flavorful, rice is the perfect texture, and the sauces complement the dishes so well. The only complaint I have is that the pita bread the second time around was very thick and more chewy than I remember. It didn't take away from the meal though and we'll definitely return.

So I decided to check out Pita GR while I was out in Brea today. The place had plenty of parking right in front and looked clean inside. I got the Street Lamb Gyro which came with fries. The gyro was a little on the small side for the price and the fries were decent. The quality of the food was just ok. I might give the Beef Gyro a shot next time instead of the Lamb maybe. Overall, just an ok experience.

    So fresh and delicious!

I came here and ordered a chicken pita. It came with seasoned fries. The interior is nice and the staff were friendly. The pita had your choice of white or dark meat, I chose white. It can with tzatziki, red onions, tomatoes and french fries inside the pita. It tasted good if I came back I would like to try the frozen yogurt with baklava.

This place markets itself as "inspired" authentic Greek, which should tell you something right away -- because it's definitely not authentic Greek. The braised lamb was extremely salty -- so salty that I couldn't taste the lamb at all, only a wall of salt that numbed my mouth. The fries tasted frozen and generic. I was glad I got the sauce on the side for the gyro because it was very commercial-tasting and not worth using. The zucchini chips were actually good, and the avocado in the gyro was fresh and green -- probably the best part of the meal. But overall, the food was more "commercialized Mediterranean fast food" than Greek, and the flaws outweighed the positives. I won't be coming back.

Good food and portions, friendly service, clean interior and willing to accommodate my allergies. Will definitely return!

Not bad for a quick meal. There are other Mediterranean places nearby that have better tasting food and better pricing.

It has fresh Mediterranean food and the interior is nicely decorated. It is located in a strip mall with a large free parking garage in the back. Very convenient. I ordered their beef and chicken kabob plate with a side of mushrooms and potatoes. The kabobs were tasty but the beef one was quite dry surprisingly. The chicken kabob in fact was quite tasty. The mushrooms and potatoes were cold and over salted. My friend ordered their lamb burger (medium rare) with a side of salad. Unfortunately the burger was well done and didn't taste as good. The side salad portion was good and you can tell it was made fresh. As for the service it was quite interewsting. While we were looking over the menu several different staff memebers asked if we were ready to order. Let me just say that this place was half empty and I can tell they were antzy to our order started. As for the rest of the meal , our waitress took forever to refill our beverages which was diet coke and ice team. Mixed review on service. Overall, I would give this place another chance and order another item to try.

The menu boasts a variety of delicious sounding options and everything we ordered was delicious, flavorful, and made very well. They even happily substituted pita for cucumbers. FOOD *Foul: although it just looked like refried beans, the flavor was excellent with heavy, but not overpowering, garlic. It was an excellent addition to add to the plates and ave as another dip *Hummus: deliciously creamy and smooth flavor *Lamb Kebab (w/ Beet Salad): lamb had great flavor and was cooked really well. Great portion of beet salad. *Salmon plate (w/ Mediterranean salad): salmon was excellent and cooked well! Generous portion. I would absolutely be back and absolutely order many more options. For the price of the meals, I think they should serve a little bit more pita bread. Each entree only comes with two small pieces of pita bread. However, the rice was a generous portion. My friend wanted to order a wrap but was informed that the pita pockets and wraps on the menu are served only until 3pm. My friend was very disappointed. I think the restaurant should serve those items all day long. Why stop serving those items after 3pm? Overall, we all liked our food. The restaurant was nice and clean. Service was quick and efficient. I would come back to try other dishes.

Bottom Line Up Front: If you like Greek food but don't want…read moreto pay big bucks at an traditional sit-down restaurant, Apola can be your yummy, budget-friendly alternative. The Food: Let me start by saying this is clearly an American take on Greek food, so if you're looking for super authentic food, look elsewhere. But if you're OK with a fusion, Apola will satisfy your Mediterranean craving. There are gyros (pita wraps), bowls, combo plates, and burritos (see, there's that American take I was talking about). All of them range in quality from average to really good. Though I've been here several times, I'll focus on my last visit when we got "the Works" pita wrap and a Greek salad bowl. For the Works, it comes with all the fixings, your choice of protein, and fries stuffed inside (yes, inside, not as a side). I chose beef-and-lamb gyro meat, which came in a huge portion. (Pro Tip: I pulled the fries out and got a "free" side. Of course , there's not a lot of fries, but enough to satisfy my fried food craving.) The gyro was big and tasty. For the Greek salad bowl, we also got beef-and-lamb gyro meat. Once again, they hooked it up with the quantity. Nice! The ingredients (tomatoes, cucumber, feta, etc) were all fresh and seasoned nicely. Side note: I do find it odd that they call this dish a salad bowl when it comes in a rectangular plastic tray. But semantics aside, it was quite good. I also ordered a fountain drink and got a Coke. It was nice a crisp with a lot of carbonation. Just the way I like it. It's not as good as the exclusive Coke blend at McDonald's, but was a close second. I have had some pretty watered down Cokes at other places in recent years. The Service: There were two young gentlemen working the last time I visited, and they were both friendly and knowledgeable. They even brought our meals to our table, which was a nice touch for a fast food establishment. The Setting: It's located inside the recently revamped Yorba Linda Downtown, which has revitalized the area and made it a pleasant place to hang out. Unfortunately, on weekends, it's hard to find parking sometimes. Fortunately we came on a weekday and got parking nearby. Inside, Apola is clean and tidy with roughly enough tables and chairs for a variety of party sizes. The Conclusion: Apola offers good Mediterranean-inspired food for a reasonable price (compared to other restaurants these days) -- just don't expect it to be 100% authentic Greek food. It's not perfect and not super cheap, but with the right expectations set, I plan to return on semi-regular basis.

But where Pita Hot sets itself apart from those places is the community. When you walk in, you're greeted with smiles, a question about how your day is, and if you've been there a few times, a quick "how's the wife and kids?" Although some people may see the price tags and wince, they do not skimp on portions. They will fill your plate to the absolute brim, give you one huge pita, and send you on your way. The flavors on the food are nothing to scoff at either. The hummus, tabbouleh, and beef skewer are absolute hits. Flavorful bites with the perfect amount of balance between the acidity of the tabbouleh, the light and rich hummus, and the meatiness of the beef. The shrimp skewer is tasty as well but not something I think I'd get again. The rice pairs well with everything, and as I've mentioned before, the humongous pita they give you is delicious as well. A three skewer plate is enough for two people! All in all, Pita Hot has been around this long for a reason. Their business model and recipes are tried and true. Overall, 9/10.
