Super friendly staff and great value! I stopped by to grab a falafel pita sandwich, and was met with friendly service. The pita was stuffed to the rim with flavorful salad and cabbage, and the falafels had a great crunch yet soft and fluffy interior. Their hot sauce is no joke! I'll definitely be back.

My office used to order from Pita Hot a lot and their food and falafel are amazing! As good as the many other restaurants/food carts in Astoria with stiff competition. They're also a great option for the many vegetarians at my job. Seems like the business has been around since maybe 2002? Their menu says they serve Syrian cuisine. Highly recommend my go-to order Jerusalem Falafel Sandwich - BUT with the 3 Vegetables: Tabouli, Red Cabbage, Grape Leaf. The garlic/hummus already comes with it. Otherwise the 3 vegetable is Tabouli, Red Cabbage, Lettuce, Tomato. Had a Kofta Platter once (comes with Falafel) and the cinnamon scented Fideua rice was delicious but the large chunks of cut Kofta/Gyro was just okay. Who was running errands in the area recently and have been upon them - I've never been to the actual space, across from Mount Sinai Hospital. It's a small casual shop with a few tables in the middle, 2 small tables outside. The place looked cozy, lived in, clean. Doesn't fit large groups well but I'm pretty sure the super hospitable owner would always make it happen! He was sitting down at the table drinking a small glass of some kind of herbal tea, pouring a little silver picture of warm liquid on top of pale herbs /flowers? If anyone knows what that is, DM me!

nice to see a well liked syrian resturant which is new to me. seems like a busy spot for locals. i got the middle eastern and lamb platter and it contained so many delicious sides. the lamb was also more flavorful and tender than any halal over rice ive had. the hummus was smokey like tahini and i liked all the vegetable sides. owner / staff very friendly. would come again if in the area!

This place was really a 3.5 at best, but skewing it to 4. Chicken gyro. Definitely needed more meat, in order to avoid that bready taste, plus the chicken lacked flavor. Not much seasoning. Lamb gyro was ok also. Again more seasoning would do the trick. The service is counter order and pickup. They also have 2 sets of tables 2 seats each. The interior is very small. This was a onetime visit and this chapter has closed also

Lamb was really well seasoned, chicken good but less seasoned. Veggies were all at the bottom of the pita though. Good value lunch.

Five. Stars. Through and through.. They are open until super late (past midnight), and make their own soups, prepare all their fresh ingredients and have a unique family "feel".. when you walk into the door you'll know what I mean. The inside feels like a Middle Eastern market with replicas across the wall and catchy Middle Eastern music on the loud speakers. The owner is Lebanese, and has owned the restaurant for over 20 years, taking care of the neighborhood who also supported the establishment even throughout Covid. You can order a pita with falafel and toppings for just $6 and a full-fledged platter with all of the toppings for under $15. They have delicious baklava and other delicacies that you'll find, coupled nicely with freshly made lentil soup, which I highly recommend. An epic establishment and one that I'll always bank on visiting no matter what time, day or night.

Delicious, fast, and cheap pita sandwich. The guy taking orders who I want to assume was the owner was super friendly. As I waited for my falafel pita sandwich, he let me try a sample of the freshly made spread on a piece of pita. Pita came out super hot. When I asked to eat here, he made sure to make the pita look pretty on the tray, which was a cute touch.

Oh my goodness! Where has this place been all my life? The funny thing is I been told it's been around for 20 years. I must have missed it, since I usually dine on the other side of 30th Avenue, and inadvertently walking past, I just usually go toward the coffee pot and towards the Shady Lady...now I will go this way. Both ways! I believe it is Turkish cuisine, and they have fantastic service. The staff was and is super welcoming and friendly. I have visited multiple times. And I have tried the samosas (small potato stuffed triangle crepes) with the delicious sweet chutney sauce (Tamarind, maybe?), and I did wolf it down without reservation. It was delicious, crispy, but not hard, and flaky but just right...the potatoey insides were fantastic. I also had an order of the grape leaves (Dolmades like at Greek Restaurants), and it had the most amazing olive oil and yummy mysterious other dripping sauce that I ever tried. I also have to add that my grape leaves were freshly made...and it tasted just delectable. So the restaurant has an easy breezy vibe, and most people are inside chatting and catching up having delicious honey blossom tea and Turkish coffee (super strong)! It is small inside, but it has a great family feel! Just to try this delicious meat filled platters of yummy delights. I want to now try all the meals. I definitely will return! I wanted to say thank you Pita Hot for allowing me ask many questions and also eat each item one by one...and savor each bite! So good.

My favorite quick eat in Astoria! I am obsessed with their delicious chicken kebab -- I love it as either a platter or pita sandwich. All the toppings are fresh and crunchy. The rice served on the platter is delicious. They offer a range of sauces -- *GET THE GREEN SAUCE* *AND THE YOGURT* *AND THE HOT SAUCE*. The service here is great. They are cooking your meal fresh so it will take 5 minutes, and if they have time the guys are so nice and will give you a little bite to taste as you wait. This is a grab-and-go or quick-sit type of place. There are 3 small tables outdoors and 1 table inside. If you see a spot order to stay, you will not be disappointed! Pita Hot is great for a real Queens / Astoria / Authentic food experience.

This is a gem! Anything you get here will be delicious. I usually get the shish kebab platter. It comes w lettuce, tomato, kebab, rice and pickled cabbage. Tooped with sauces of your choosing. Plenty of drink options too. Also they gave me a sample of the Harira soup and i must say its my new fave now. Will be ordering plenty!

Always amazing! This is our go-to for dinner in Astoria - service is always friendly and fun and they always give us something new to try. Today we tried their samosas which were delicious and spicy. The chicken schwarma platter was so tasty with white and hot sauce and the chicken was perfectly spiced. Definitely stop by if you're in Astoria!

The restaurant felt homey and I could tell there were many regulars and other return visitors, for good reason! Ordered: Masala Chai ($4.50)- this tasted authentic, was nicely spiced, and wasn't too sweet. I only wish the cup was bigger. Steamed momo ($12+)- I like how you have the option to mix and match. We ordered the mixed vegetable and the oyster mushroom and surprisingly I much preferred the oyster mushroom variety. The mixed vegetable momo tasted more earthy to me. Himalayan rice set ($20.5)- this was a very nice assortment- there was rice, lentil dal, your protein of choice- (I chose beef brisket), stir fried cabbage, broccoli rabe, pickled vegetables and crisp flatbread. The only downside in my opinion was that the brisket wasn't too tender and I didn't love the beef flavoring or preparation. The rest of the items were so delicious! Let's start with the noodles They're thick, chewy, and super bouncy -- literally my favorite kind of noodle. The hand-ripped texture really comes through, and every bite had that satisfying chew I'm always looking for. This is 100% my noodle type. I'm not Chinese, but I've had a lot of Chinese food in LA, so this didn't feel unfamiliar at all. I went with the default spice level, and it wasn't overly spicy, just super flavorful with that signature tingly kick. Comforting, bold, and very easy to keep eating I was actually hoping to try N1 (Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles), but it was sold out super sad, but now I have a very clear reason to come back. The lamb dumplings (F4) were great too. You can really taste the lamb, which I loved. We got a four-top at the front of the place. The restaurant decor is pleasant. It's a bit dark inside, but welcoming. Our server was very friendly. We started by ordering three starters - Mantu Dumplings (described in the menu as: steamed dumplings w/ beef, onions, cilantro + spices, topped with garlic mint yogurt sauce and garnished with lamb gravy and yellow split peas), Borani Banjan (eggplant) and Bamia (okra, stewed with tomato and onion sauce). Each of the starters was great. I think my favorite was the dumpling, followed by the eggplant and then the okra. Although the okra dish was delicious, it seemed like the simplest one, and one I could make most easily at home. The server suggested we get an order of Afghan Naan to go with the starters. The Naan was "OK". I would call that the weak part of the meal. It was fairly flavorless and didn't really enhance the flavors of the starters. The three of us shared two entrees - Chicken Afghan Kabob and Salmon Kabob. Each comes with a large side of rice. We also ordered one Qabuli (a rice topping made of raisins and carrots, sautéed in a cardamom syrup). The Qabuli is an extra dollar. The server said he would put it on the side, which was an excellent suggestion, because the rice was flavorful on its own and the Qabuli on its own made an excellent, sweet side dish. The Kabobs were both very good. The chicken was moist and tender and nicely seasoned. But the salmon - oh my gosh - the salmon light, flaky texture melted in my mouth. I couldn't stop eating the salmon. The rice was flavorful and the texture consistent. Before serving the entree, the server brought over a small salad to share, which was refreshing - lettuce and tomato and cucumbers. We didn't order dessert. But the server comped us a Firnee (homemade custard), which was very good. We were so full we couldn't finish it (or most of the rice from the entrees). The portions here are a nice size. Bottled waters were $2 each. They were ice cold and a good value for a restaurant. Honestly, the prices here overall are very reasonable. The food is good and nice portion sizes.
