Nice little restaurant, clean and well laid out. I was greeted when I walked in, and found a table to sit at. Waitress brought water and I told her what I wanted. Gyro sandwich, and a side (app) of baba ganoush! Food was delivered quickly! Baba Ganoush first, with a small basket of wonderful, soft fluffy pitas! It was delicious! Pretty good sized order too... definitely shareable. Gyro sandwich was good, great flavor. A little less meat on it then I am accustomed to, but they do offer more meat if you want to add some, at an extra cost, of course. Good service, and good food. read more

This was our first time to visit based on the recent reviews! I was so glad to hear the original owner was back! The food was generous & delicious. The inside was clean, well decorated & welcoming. The owner & employees were so friendly! They personally welcomed everyone who came in & asked "How are YOU today?" like they genuinely meant it. Our waitress, Tina, was so sweet and was very attentive throughout our whole meal. This was such a great experience. We had the Veggie Mazza Platter, Lamb Shish-kabob & the Kofta plate. It was all very good. It wasn't over-seasoned like most franchise places tend to do. Good, clean flavors and cooked just right. It's a bit of a drive for us from Castle Rock, but we make frequent trips to Portland & Vancouver so this will be a welcome addition to our "places to eat" list! I've tried baklava many times over the years & just couldn't understand the excitement over it, until now. Their's was amazing! The phyllo dough was crispy & it wasn't swimming in oil. Pita House in Battle Ground has my whole heart. The owner treats you like you've been welcomed into his home, and he's proudly serving the best meal he can possibly make. His hospitality is the kind you don't forget. He even remembered telling my fiancé that we should dine in sometime, and when we finally did, he greeted us like old friends. The food IS incredible!! My absolute favorite is the kebab sirloin entrée. It's tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. Their appetizers and gyro are also some of my go-tos; everything tastes fresh and made with so much care. And the pistachio baklava? I crave it every single week. It's that good. As we were leaving, he actually ran outside just to give us a piece, truly the sweetest gesture. We each had the special: a pita sandwich, garlic fries, and a drink. The garlic fries are perfect! I had the Schwarma and my companion had the gyro. Both were abundant and flavorful. I am Greek & Armenian & originally from the east coast. I grew up, arguably, having some of the best Greek/Middle Eastern food at my fingertips and in my mouth! Not only at home with Mom, Yiayia and Thia's, but, from multiple restaurants and food carts. You just can't beat New York's ethnic food scene. That is why, in my 36 years of living in the PNW, I was slightly nervous about eating a gyros at the Pita House. Even with the high ratings, I have found most of my experiences in WA state with Greek food has been a sad disappointment. I didn't want that to happen again. It didn't. The restaurant kind of reminded me of the SNL skit with John Belushi and Dan Akroyd, "Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!" (If you know, you know! For you youngsters, find it on YouTube for a good laugh.) Dive vibes, but clean, with the anticipation of some new, wondrous gastronomical experience just waiting to happen! I felt right at home! The waitress was a delightful young lady. We ordered two lamb gyro with garlic fries. (Pony up for the extra meat add on. It was worth it!) The gyro meat was tender and beautifully spiced and the garlic fries were sublime. Crispy, crunchy and garlicky! The tzatziki was decent. I could have used a bit more garlic in mine, but it complemented the sandwich just fine. The waiter working along with the waitress was a very friendly fellow, too, and I suspect the owner. We shared with him that it was our anniversary and he brought over two pieces of delicious baklava at the end of our meal. Flakey, buttery phyllo: one with walnuts, one with pistachios. Both divinely delicious! We also ordered two nut rolls to go, and those were also incredibly yummy! Two thumbs up for the Pita House, their staff and the food. Pita House has a lot going for it! The staff is so attentive, the owner is right there on top of things making sure everything is going smoothly. They refill your drinks before you even finish them! Amazing! They also give you tons of food! The portions are more than generous. They give you lots of pita and the sides that come with your main dish are good. That being said, it is noisy (the restaurant was full on a Friday night and lots of people mean lots of talking and enjoying themselves. So I can hardly fault that!). My husband and our friend had good Shwarmas (lamb & chicken), one with their delicious garlic fries, and our other friend liked her lemon garlic chicken. We also had a vegetarian mezza plate that includes both baba ganoush and hummus. Olives would've been nice too, but there was a lot on the plate, including cabbage and cucumber salads. My Shish Kabab had good flavor, but the chicken was dry. Some kind of sauce would have helped the dryness. I also didn't get the onion & bell pepper that was supposed to be on the skewer with it, according to the menu. I would have said something but we were busy talking to our friends and I forgot till later. That's is the only thing I think could be improved upon at Pita House. First time ever going here, and let me tell you - From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we walked out smiling, it was nothing short from a phenomenal experience. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious, the Turkish coffee was sooooo good (also a first for us) and the pistachio baklava was absolutely AMAZING. The best part of the experience though was the service!! Probably the BEST table service I've ever had in my life, no joke... and being 47 years old I've been around the block a few times. A family owned and run restaurant that treats you like family when you come in and serves delicious food. That's my favorite kind of spot, and that's why I love Pita House. These are the friendliest people. They always have a smile for you. This is a favorite lunch date spot for my husband and I when we're running afternoon errands. You can grab a quick bite, or even sit and linger over an authentic Turkish coffee. I like to try different things on the menu and can recommend the shawarma sandwich and the veggie mazza platter. My husband never deviates from the gyro with garlic fries - it really is delicious. Usually, upon entering we're invited to choose where we'd like to sit. The menus are usually already on the table. The food doesn't take long to arrive. Everything is very fresh and tastes homemade. My husband commented on our last visit that nothing was greasy and everything is delicious. After eating, head to the register to pay. They have a small case with two types of baklava (walnut and pistachio) and nut rolls. We usually order them at the register and take them to go, but on our last visit we asked for them at the end of the meal and ate them with some Turkish coffee. The desserts arrived on a cute cake pedestal, which our kids thought was very fun. I often see people picking up to-go orders. It seems like it might make up half of their business!
