Had an excellent lunch there yesterday. What a surprise! I got a falafel on hummus bowl (no tomatoes). What fantastic flavor! The falafel balls weren't that big, but I loved the crunch and flavor. The hummus was really good & creamy. I loved the bits of red onion & cucumber. I added Kalamata olives when I got home. I also tried their babaghanoush and it was good -- a bit smokey and still slightly chunky (small bits of eggplant). There were 2 giant pitas to dip with. More than enough. There's no real eat-in dining to speak of --- though there's a handful of stools along the wall at a wall-mounted counter. Oh, how I wanted to love this place. We stopped in for a late Saturday evening takeout around 8:00 p.m. They were open until 9:00, so I wasn't expecting anyone to roll out the red carpet, but unfortunately, the experience fell a little flat. Their website says, "It's not just food, it's hospitality." Unfortunately, the hospitality was missing during our visit. We were greeted with more of a "what do you want?" attitude than a warm welcome. The menu is fairly brief, but it took us a minute to decide what each of us wanted so we could try a few different things. There was no one behind us waiting, so a little patience and grace would have gone a long way. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma & Hummus Bowl, and my husband got the Falafel & Rice Bowl. Both were fresh and nicely prepared, but we felt they were lacking in flavor. Unfortunately, the food seemed to have about as much personality as the service. We have order from here through Uber Eats a LOT! Got the chicken shawarma rice bowl and chicken shawarma! The bowl is DEFINITELY filling! This is the closet to the real shawarma I've tried. Stopped by while walking around Lawrenceville and needed something to eat fast. The chicken shawarma was so flavorful from the seasoning of the chicken, the garlic sauce, and the tangy pickles. There was just one guy working, and he was very nice and helpful in my decision of what to get. It's a very small spot with not a lot of seating, so definitely best for a quick in and out bite. I remember when this place first opened! This little Mediterranean eatery in Lawrenceville was (still is!) a great addition to the area. While Pita My Shawarma serves a limited menu, and doesn't have a ton of seating options, it makes up for those things by serving up flavorful meals. They serve shawarma, salads, and classic dips made with hummus or baba ganoush. They also serve fries, which reaaaaaaally tempted me last time I stopped by...but my coworker only ordered a salad, so I followed her lead. She kept hers completely vegetarian by topping it with falafel, while I opted for chicken. Our meals were prepped and brought out to us quickly, which we appreciated since we knew we had to go back to the office in a reasonable amount of time. We get food here relatively often (maybe once every two months), always get the supreme shawarma, and always love it. It's bursting with flavor, with a great mix and balance of ingredients. Its most distinguishing feature is the garlic sauce, so garlic lovers should definitely give the shawarmas here a try (and garlic haters should beware). The supreme shawarma is so large and fulfilling, it easily feeds two. Though my partner and I prefer to share one, it's not impossible for one person to finish it if they are appropriately hungry. Everyone says it's expensive here and it is for a basic chicken pita wrap since it ended up being $14 for just chicken and lettuce in a pita. I am low fodmap and the food here isn't really that low fodmap friendly. I had the garlic sauce on the side that I didn't end up using. Inside the stale wrap was chicken and lettuce. It had little to no flavor and the chicken was not what you normally get at Shawarma spots I've been to in NYC. It felt more like grilled chicken. This was my first time trying this restaurant. I'm a big fan of shawarmas in general and had heard from some of my friends that this was a spot worth investigating. So like the food detective I am, I decided to stop by on one of my walks and take it home with me to properly savor it. I was not disappointed. The first bite let me know everything I needed to know. Pairing it with extra garlic sauce was a great decision that I recommend. You can tell the chicken is fresh and spiced very well. I know it's a small thing, but I also appreciate how they heat up the pita bread before assembling the shawarma. It's a small detail but I think it adds a lot of value. This is definitely a spot worth stopping in and grabbing a shawarma to go. I wouldn't say I was particularly inclined to sit in the restaurant. I'd be okay with paying the premium if the shawarma was incredible. But, it's not. The chicken had a somewhat rubbery, chewy, odd texture and the flavor was also off. The pita itself was somewhat stale and I've definitely had far better pitas at other locations. Highly doubt that this is homemade (for a price like this, it definitely at least should be homemade pita). A few pieces of tomato. Barely any garlic sauce, as if it wasn't even included. Chunks of pickles that were pretty decent. They did follow my order instructions to not include the lettuce, which was nice. All in all, would not recommend. Both the chicken and the beef (only available on weekends) were so well seasoned and so flavorful. The beef really packed a punch. Loved the garlic sauce On the beef. The French fries were hand cut fries and really good. We liked the chicken best. Next time, I'll either get the loaded fries with chicken or see if they could put chicken on the Halloumi Fries. The reviews said the Halloumi Fries were really good. I love cheese so I'm in. Check them out. There is no space to eat inside but they're little patio is open. A neighbor has been working with several area food trucks to come and set up shop in the neighborhood once a week. Tonight, Pita My Shawarma was the scheduled food truck (if the food truck is sent from a different location than Butler, my apologies). I like shawarma.
