Awesome Greek spot in the Castle Shannon area! If you live nearby, you should definitely visit this place. They serve mostly gyros and keep a menu mixed with Greek and American food. I came for a quick meal, so all I had was the side chicken meat, garlic sauce, and tres leches. Everything was very tasty! The chicken meat side portion was absolutely huge. I was expecting a lot less. Love the bang for your buck. It was also quite flavorful. Seasoned pretty well and juicy. Some pieces were a bit fatty, but on the whole, very good. The garlic sauce was good, although I'm not entirely sure they actually gave me the garlic sauce since it had a slightly red tint to it. Regardless, it was creamy and flavorful, but also had some sort of sweetness that I wasn't the biggest fan of. I was surprised to see that this place serves desserts like tiramisu and tres leches. But, wow, that tres leches was delicious. Again, a great portion, and the cake was sweet and doused in milk. So good, and probably rivals with several Latin American places. All in all, very good. Would come back to try their gyros as well, but everything I had was amazing and great portions. Try the tres leches for a nice surprise. read more

Fantastic gyros. Not just done but chicken, lamb, steak and marinated pork. Absolutely fantastic. But I only give four stars because of the mac-and-cheese. Horrible. I have been by this place countless times, I am a regular at Sherwin-Williams which is in the same plaza but I just recently decided to stop in and order some food. There is a pretty expansive menu and the employees were very kind with how they greeted me as I walked in. I decided to order a chicken gyro and my dad ordered an original gyro, we both got the meals that included a drink. I didn't even need the fries, the gyro was so filling and delicious! We decided to eat there after waiting for our food and the store was so busy with a lot of take out orders and a few people joined us in the dining room for their dinner. The dining room isn't big or fancy but it suits this place, I would assume it is family owned based on how well they treated their customers and they clearly care about the food they serve. I will definitely be back to try some other options on the menu, maybe no fries next time since everything is so filling! read more

A good gyro, but not great. Definitely not on the level of Mike & Tony's, Sparta, or Knossos. The meat was ok, but did not have a lot of flavor and seemed to be dry and overcooked. The tzatziki sauce was a little too thick, but had a good taste to it. In terms of the amount of meat you get, it is very little compared to their places. Seemed like bad timing to try this place for the first time, but that was the only negative review, the vet office across the street spoke highly of it, and it sounded delicious so I gave it a shot. The dolmades are still divine, and the fries are twice-cooked, hot fat glory, but that gyro, which I had been itching to sample was a worthy challenger if not the very best I've ever eaten. I've found my go to Gyro joint!! As a longtime, (now former Tom's Diner) gyro eater, I appreciate the simple, and satisfying experience of Original Gyro. My daughter, is usually my eating out side kick, and if we're in the Castle Shannon area, it's rare to pass up a stop for her plain (meat & sauce) gyro. We've been in enough times, that our orders are in progress when we walk in. I've thought of trying something different, but why mess with the streak? The Gyro special is the big hit , for $5.75+tax, you get a gyro, fresh cut fries, and an ice tea. This is my kind of 'fast food', not dried slabs of bark like gyro meat that turned me off from gyros at other places. i will start by saying, sorry, we chow down, forgetting to take pictures, which is why, once again there are no pictures! tom was a little under the weather, so i picked up dinner. my food was already done & waiting for me when i arrived. i paid the bill & headed home with the luscious aroma coming from the bag, taunting me. i had everything ready so when i got home, we could just sit down &, chow down! tom got his usual gyro & a side of onion rings. the gyro is filled nicely, no skimping on ingredients. & apparently the rings are pretty good too! i changed up my order slightly. i usually get the steak dinner. this time i got a steak salad with a side of small fries. it came with pita as well. i opened the lid. it was a sea of steak pieces, no green to be seen! wow! & they offer extra meat if you'd like! it was not necessary here! i could've eaten the salad by just using the marinade on the steak, but i got some ranch dressing too. the salad was excellent! there were olives, pepperoncinis, feta. it was delicious! i ate the fries with the salad as there weren't any on it. the only pitfall. no fries on the steak salad! so i got some! all i can say is YUM! read more

They have a number of different combo specials that include a gyro sandwich, fries and a drink. The regular gyro combo is $7.47, which comes to $7.99 with tax. The drinks are not fountain style but instead you pick a can or bottle from a fridge. They have sodas, iced teas and bottled water. I got the regular gyro and it was a big serving and very tasty. The fries are home made and fresh. This was a great value. They have some dinner platters also at good prices and some Greek specialty items behind the counter. I'd definitely come here again. We went here on a whim since the brewery down the street had an hour wait time. We were so impressed! The quality of the food was great and it tasted BOMB. Service was great too. We were even able to sit outside on a picnic table. The gyros were better than Mike & Tony's and Lesvos. Best gyro in Allegheny county. Gyro boasts a generous portion on lamb and hand cut fries are always crips and hot. Don't leave without getting a piece of baklava or you'll be sorry. We have ordered from here many times and really enjoy their gyros and deals. Due to the difficult times we try to order takeout/delivery from local businesses in the area to show our support. We ordered two gyros which included a gyro dinner where you get get fries or a salad for around $11 which is a decent dinner deal. They have a variety of gyro options where I ordered the original gyro and my boyfriend decided to try a chicken gyro, he really enjoyed it and it's pretty filling.
