Let me start by saying - the customer service is phenomenal! I messaged the restaurant on Instagram asking about whether or not the hummus has pine nuts in it (for allergy purposes) and they got back to me right away to confirm that it doesn't and that they don't fry in peanut oil (yessss!) (They did warn that their food contains sesame, so please be cautious if you have a sesame allergy!) I decided to try them out and OH MY GOODNESS is their food yummy! My coworkers and I ordered through Doordash and we had our food in our hands in about 25 minutes! (And that was food for 6 people!) I was impressed at the speed, especially since this is a food truck! The chicken shawarma was delightful and the falafel might have been the best I've tried in town! I ordered the chicken shawarma platter and got a side of hummus for my table to share. The platter was a generously filled plate of food - I couldn't even finish my rice! The platter came with chicken, rice, salad, one falafel, some kind of yummy sauce, and a pita bread cut into nice little pieces. One of my favorite parts of this plate was the little fried pita bread crouton things on the salad... They were so yummy! While the food is a *little* on the pricier side, it's 100% worth every penny! Give them a try! read more

I had just finished a soak at Sat7even (btw, if you have not tried that yet,you are missing out) and it was lunchtime. I walked over to one of my favorite food trucks, Pita Paradise. The Chicken Swarma sandwich called my name. I cannot believe how fast the service is here. It's so fast, you might think the food would suffer, but you're wrong. The Chicken is tender and the pita was stuffed so full, I folded it open and ate it with a fork. It was a nice day and I enjoyed my lunch watching the world go by on 20 the & H. It has an outside cafe vibe that I find pleasant. The Fox theater is nearby and the main fire station is right across the street. Being a food truck you don't get amenities like a washroom. The sandwich is juicy and I always seem to make a mess. But this is nothing a towelette in the glove box can't fix. If you're looking for tasty Mediterranean food at reasonable prices, and you're downtown, you can't go wrong with Pita Paradise. read more

Pita Paradise attended a food truck event at my work today so I decided to give it a shot. Staff was super friendly and the prices were really reasonable, had no issue with that. Portion size is great, there was plenty of food to fill me up and everything was pretty good. I had the Paradise combo so I could try a little bit of everything. The chicken and lamb were phenomenal, the beef was a touch dry but not too bad. The rice was really tasty and the falafal was really good sized and tasty. I ordered some garlic sauce on the side and I'm not too sure about that. I don't know if they gave me the wrong sauce or their garlic sauce is just lacking but I didn't like it. No smell of garlic, no taste of garlic it was just bland whatever they gave me. I didn't enjoy that sauce at all and that was unfortunate because there was some on my meat and I paid for a side of it as well just to not like it at all. It was still overall a good experience and I'll definitely eat there again if I'm around their location. read more

The best gyro from a food truck! I was looking for a healthy option for lunch today, so I decided to order the Mixed Lamb & Beef Gyro Pita. Mmm, so good! With so much meat, veggies, and garlic sauce, you can't complain! Order that with a side of garlic fries, and you are all set. (I would've included photos of my food, but I was so hungry and the food was delicious. I just could not wait!) The customer service was on par, and of course the price could not be beat. I tried Pita Paradise when they first started here around 2014-15 and absolutely loved it but forgot since I moved back to Bakersfield. Just remembered it randomly last week (lol) and looked them up and they were still around. Have had food from here twice in the past week and it was awesome. Food is absolutely delicious and the quality of ingredients is on point. Their paradise pitarrito sandwich is a monster, calling it sandwich is unfair actually. It's a platter in a pita bread. I love Pita Paradise, but lately when I go eat they forget to put hot sauce on my food. Which I have repeatedly asked them to do on the phone and in person, but the last two times I've arrived back to work and see that they didn't add it again. Unfortunately I can't drive back and ask for aisle since I get back to work with 15 min to spare. This actually happened today again, and its super disappointing since I know that the truck is now being run by someone else, the customer service is defiantly different. I only eat out once a week when at work so when I choose Pita Paradise and it's not made how I ordered it's disappointing. Have not had any issues with my food being made wrong anymore. I enjoy the food overall but recently we have had some issues when requesting extra hot sauce. First time we asked for extra they placed it in the side but didn't include any hot sauce in my falafel sandwich. Asked for extra sauce the next time and had some inside the sandwich and on the side which was great. Today when we asked for extra they decided to put a ridiculous amount of hot sauce which made the sandwich soggy by the time I got back to the office (about 30 minutes after receiving my order). Coming from LA had to stop for Friday prayers and we were all so hungry and this was around the corner from the Islamic center of Bakersfield; today is their first day outside of target and we thought of checking it out! It was quick and so delicious; after such a long time I had good shawarma! We ordered garlic fries & ps fries (fries with their special House sauce) (finger licking good) Chicken shawarmas with some hot sauce on the side; it was delicious! Also free hummus on the house! Unfortunately the quality here has decreased significantly since my last review. Not sure if it's new ownership, cook or something else but the food doesn't taste the same anymore. Not nearly as fresh and really sort of bland. For a shawarma sandwich, they try to skim on the meat by throwing as much lettuce into it as possible to make it appear bigger. Their prices have also increased significantly. It's now $10 for a sandwich. That's ridiculous for a food truck considering there are Mediterranean restaurants not charging that much. When I first visited Pita Paradise, their sandwich was $6. I understand that inflation has occurred over the years and cost of meat and such has gone up but almost double the price? I can get a Chipotle bowl for less than $10 to put it in comparison. The worst part is that they now charge $1 for garlic sauce. It used to be 25 cents. But they now charge $1 for a tiny little cup of garlic sauce, something that is given for free at all other Mediterranean spots. You would think for charging such high prices for their menu, they would at least give out the sauces for free. I'm not a big fan of Flames and Skewers in general but at least they do not charge for garlic sauce there when you ask for an extra cup of it. It's a shame that this place has regressed so much in terms of taste and cost because it was the only "worth-it" Mediterranean spot in town. read more

Quick Summary Pita Paradise is in my Top 2 for favorite work lunch spots in town. It's basically the Halal Guys of Bakersfield Food- 5 stars I usually get the lamb and beef platter and it's heavenly.
