This place really seems like a little mom & pop, and not a franchise or chain location, as they seem to do everything their own little way. I ordered through the app a gyro salad and selected 'curbside' pickup, then proceeded to drive to the location. As. I was parking. I got a call from an older woman, who asked if I wanted lettuce on my salad. She said that I did not select a greens option when I chose the salad, and I said that I thought it automatically comes with a base of lettuce, because it is called a 'salad' and I was able to complete the order without making that selection. I told her that I would prefer shredded lettuce and that I was already sitting in the parking lot, but there was no rush. I waited in my car 30 minutes after this phone call, and there was no order, so I called back the same number that I received, and a young girl answered with just "hello". This threw me off, so I asked if I was actually calling Pita Pit? She said, "oh yeah". I inquired about my curbside order, and she told me that they do not have curbside even though it is an option on the app and that I would have to come inside. Why was this not mentioned when the older woman had called me previously? I entered inside and there is no posted pickup location, so I have to stand in line behind a family who is taking a very long time to order while the older woman was in the back, chopping onions and making eye contact with me but never came out to assist. Pulled up to this establishment and all the lights are off with the open sign off with a sign that says will now be closing at 6:30. The employee turned everything off by 6:25. She had brown curly hair in a ponytail with a black shirt. Absolutely ridiculous. OPE found another employee that was sitting in the back for 5 minutes until 6:30 to go lock the door. I showed the receipt verifying that there was an order placed and the card was charged. The younger girls who initially helped me were so sweet and kind trying to figure out what was going on. The older gal with short gray hair came over to me and said "I have a cater that is due at 12:15, it's now 12:04 and in store customers, then i can get to you. I love pita pit! Great Customer service, delicious options, and convenient location. My guy thought his pita was dry and I would agree our pitas needed more sauce. Overall I get the crave for the chicken souvlaki and bam pita pit satisfies every time. They also made our pups their own feast. Super great place! The service was good and my pita was stuffed with veggies. Not really sold on the new menu but most of the ingredients remain the same.

I'm honestly surprised no one has gotten sick from this place. I decided to stop by tonight to try this place for the first time and boy was it unsightly. The kitchen was absolutely filthy. All of the produce in the pita prep area was rotting. Cheese was turning brown. Lettuce was black and gooey. Hummus looked so old, the top layer was a different color than the bottom. There were tons of different things mushed into the cutting boards, turning them a mix of brown and black instead of the white color they should be. All of the sauce bottles were filthy and had a crust on the top of them. The grill looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Spatulas and grill utensils were slimy. Grease covered walls. Trash all over the floor. The kids behind the counter would handle money, touch the register, touch the the fridge, touch the pita, then all the condiments that go in your pita, without changing their gloves once. It was gross and screamed of cross contamination. I think the health department needs to pay a visit to this place before someone becomes seriously ill. read more

I got a chicken cesear wrap and almost all of the chicken in the wrap was bad. It was grisly and barely cooked enough. It also came with bacon which I was excited about but that was also undercooked. Where have all the adults gone? This is the second business I've been today with a very young person at the register, under-trained and without a clue. And here it was causing all kinds of trouble for the 10 people waiting for food in the lobby. The two people making food kept calling people up asking what they had ordered and how they wanted it prepared. How are you losing orders in the 10 feet between the register and the grill? Pita Pit is a great change of pace from typical fast food, burgers or sandwiches. We hadn't been there in quite a while, and decided we needed to try it again. Tonight my wife had the Chicken Souvlaki, and I had the Buffalo Chicken. The Tzatziki Sauce was pretty good, and was very interesting combined with the Buffalo sauce flavor. .I was hungry, and needed a quickie. I didn't see anything wrong with the dining area, yet I would not want come here to sit down and eat. .Had a BLT in a whole wheat pita, to go. They build it to your order, similar to Subway. No cheese, just thousand island dressing. The 'artist' ripped off the top paper wrap for me so I could immediately start eating. .Flour tortillas don't appeal to me, and things that looklike a soft shell burrito might scare me off. If you don't want the pita bread, you can get anything fork style (salad) and is very good. You can pay a little more and get double the meat. My kids usually go for the breakfast pitas (awaken with Bacon) and I get the chicken souvlaki which is super low in calories. You then add your veggies, fruits (pineapple mostly) and sauces. Pretty incompetent. It was my first visit to a pita pit, because we just moved into the area. Every time I asked a question, the girl behind the counter answered like I was stupid and wasting her time. I ordered three vegan falafel pitas. We cannot have milk and do not eat meat. I made it very clear they needed to be vegan. I didn't think I needed to bay sit her while she made my food, but I must have been wrong. After I got home I found all three of the pitas were wraps instead of pitas and every single one had some sort of sour cream or dairy sauce in them. We couldn't even eat them. My husband and I stopped in tonight at about 8:40 to grab a quick dinner. The open sign was on and the door was unlocked with hours clearly starting they are open until 10. When we walked in the girl behind the front counter informed us they were closing early today and everything was already shut down so they couldn't serve us. There was nothing posted with changed hours and as I stated above the open sign was on so nothing would have indicated they were closing early. We both love pita pit and I come to this location quite often but this has changed my mind. We will be finding our pita fix somewhere else from now on. read more

Daughter's turkey bacon was good.i had the Buffalo chicken.... Very disappointing experience, buffalo chicken should be served with blue cheese with blue cheese dressing yet neither were available the way they build the pitas you can have either all the veggies in your bite or all meat in you your bite. Little kids "running" this place. Called in an order one night well in advanced. I show up to see the children playing in the back and when I asked for my order, they told me they just started it. So I decided to try placing an online order to see if maybe that will make it more reliable. Show up 5 minutes after my order said it would be done and guess what? It wasn't done. It wasn't even started. Again, the kids were just in the back playing around so there's no reason it shouldn't have been done. Not to mention they all have their little friends come hangout there. We got there and all of the lights were off and two employees were cleaning up, I knocked on the window, Because the door was locked the guy working looked up and acted as if he didn't see me then he walked into the back laughing. We sat in our truck waiting for a just a second as another customer showed up and asked why they were closed so early. Then both employees were in the back room peaking through the kitchen window laughing at all of us. This facility is disgusting. The food was alright, but the eating area is atrocious. This place has not been cleaned in months from the looks of it. Every single table had food crumbs on and under the tables, the floors period have gunk built up along the walls, the chairs have never been wiped (again from the looks of it), along with the trash receptacle...and don't get me started on the disgusting build up on & in the soda machine. There was dust on top of the napkin dispenser on the table I ate at. I can't believe a DAILY cleaning protocol isn't put into place. I get some places are not up to date but at least keep it clean. People eat here. On top of it all as I contemplated getting a hold of some ownership to inform of my experience, I asked if this location was corporate or franchised owned. I ordered a regular Philly and a small Prime Rib. They came out the same size. When I asked if there had been a mistake in size, they argued that it all depends on how much you put it in. The regular Philly had double the filling and came out the same size as the small Prime. She had to ask me which one was supposed to be a regular. No apologies. I like Pita Pit, but don't like being lied to when it's pretty obvious. Bad customer service. Probably won't be back to this location. read more

We've gone here a couple times looking for fresh food, usually disappointed but not completely discouraged. Our last visit this past weekend was the last time. The customer service here is always sub-par, they really seem to hate their jobs. I can get over this though since it's a quick order and we're on our way, although I don't particularly trust their attention to food safety/quality. What really got us this last time were THE FLIES. Oh boy! I didn't notice them at first, we ordered our pitas and went to the other side to give one of the girls our order...like other reviews they resembled something along the lines of zombies...dragging their feet, low energy, no smiles, mono-toned. Anyway they walked away to find the Avocado that I had ordered, one fly landed on my opened pita that was sitting on the counter waiting for Avocado. It irked me a little but I said suck it up, it's Fall in Boise, there are flies, then I saw a second and really started to get upset, I mentioned it to my husband and while saying this looked around the establishment and literally there were 40 flies all over the tables, chairs, my eyes started wandering onto the food as I cringed... Flies on the food. Wanted to vomit. When the girls came back my husband demanded new pitas for us due to the flies, the girls looked at us like 'really....' and threw out the pitas and grabbed new ones. We picked out the items that looked to the eye fresh, left out the other items we'd normally order but looked gross (tomatoes, pickles). After we got home, we both took a few bites and were grossed out so we threw them away. Waste of $22. I find it despicable that the shop owner would allow such unsanitary conditions for paying patrons. A couple flies? sure it happens but anything over that is disgusting and I counted at least 40 while we waited for Avocado. I would highly recommend you do NOT come to this Pita Pit! read more
