We've raved about Main Street Burger for years, but all that came to a crashing halt this past week. My mom wanted a burger, specifically a Guacamole Bacon Burger and fries, and we were in the neighborhood, having just left Rave. We went through the drive-thru and placed the order. We were shocked at the total, which came to nearly $17.00, but understood that in this economy and with grocery prices, it was what it was. We arrived at the window and waited, and waited, and waited. I knew that they cooked everything to order, but it felt like an eternity had passed since paying. Finally, the order was ready and we went home. Not only was I disappointed with the burger, but I was upset that what we paid for and the time we spent did not equal what we received. The amount of Guacamole was like a spread, and there was no deft to that burger. For the amount that we paid, that burger should have been loaded. My mom made the most appropriate comment, " Honey, Somebody shrunk my burger!" We won't be back, but at least I have my memories of a time long ago, in which Main Street made delicious burgers made with love and care and stacked with all the fixings just like in my pictures. read more

I haven't been here in about 5 years. We used to go a lot when my mother-in-law was living behind Albertsons. Small and charming diner with hot rod decor. Sometimes it can get busy at lunch and there are only so many tables to be had. The menu is short, but they have been delivering great burgers for a long time. Stopped in today and split a burger with the main squeeze. We had the Five Alarm burger. The burgers are 1/3lb and the meat had great flavor. No real heat for us, but some could find it spicy. Pickled jalapenos are hit and miss for heat anyway. Toasted bun and a good amount of toppings on the burger. The onion rings were tasty and fried perfectly. Buying a soda gets you one refill. Plenty of food for two seniors, I think. read more

Thursday night at 5:30pm and the place was pretty full - good sign from the start! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff upped the ante...loved that there was no frustration with my first-timer questions and the side options of fries or tots with your combo upgrade. Place hasn't had a decor refresh in a while, but shockingly it adds to the charm instead of away from it...this place feels like a family diner; cherished by locals...and loved for its hidden "in-the-know" charm. The drive-thru was never empty the entire time we were there. Hubby ordered the single hamburger plain with cheese and a side of fries. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings because I'm no chump! The hamburger was grilled to perfection, oozing with meat juices and cradled between what appeared to be freshly made buns. The fries were perfectly fried and fantastic with the fry sauce that accompanied the combo. The grilled chicken was incredibly flavorful, dripping with so much juice that it puddled in the sandwich paper wrapping. All the toppings were fresh and sliced with careful consideration. But let me have a moment to just talk about these onion rings. Sweet love. So many, perfectly breaded...not too crunchy, but fluffy crunchy to the point that you can bend for dipping without crumbs blanketing your face, shirt and everyone at the table. It's not all just talk! While easy to miss, this Meridian staple is of the best burger joints in the Treasure Valley! This is one of my go-to's for a mouthwatering, classic burger. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The menu is simple and the prices are extremely reasonable. All burgers are 1/3 pound and come with crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, fresh onion and tangy pickles. My husband and I both enjoyed a Bacon with Cheese ($8.99) with a side of fries and drinks (+$4.99) as well as a small Oreo milkshake ($6.00). Damn, was that burger GOOD. The bacon of was of excellent quality. The cheese was beautifully melted. It truly was a perfect, classic burger. Each bite really delivered a symphony of flavors, especially with a lil dab of fry sauce. The fries were nicely salted and paired wonderfully dipped in the rich, velvety milkshake. Main Street Burger has all the vibes of an old-school, small town burger joint despite being located right in the middle of busy Meridian. I really felt a strong sense of nostalgia and comfort as I enjoyed my meal. The service was top-notch as well. We were given the wrong milkshake (vanilla), but they were so apologetic and willing to remake it, we ended up keeping it. We are visiting from out of town. Called ahead to confirm they were open and allowed dogs. We were approximately 20 minutes away. Upon arrival, it was pretty empty. We ordered food. At no time before or after we arrived did anyone bother to wipe down a table outside that was covered in bird poop. So, we had to go back to the car to eat. In addition, all fried portions of the food were extra crispy or burnt. Not a good first impression. read more

I finally started coming here in October after living very close for years and just continually passing by. I'm so mad I hadn't tried it sooner. 10 / 10 I love it. Always fresh to order, so it can take some time but this isn't fast food this is a restaurant with a drive thru. The milkshakes are like fresh homemade milkshakes not from a machine. The onion rings are battered which are 2 million times better than breaded. They have fried pickles now which are awesome also. I LOVE the burgers and get extra lettuce. This is a solid burger spot located right outside of downtown Meridian...has all the looks of a greasy spoon burger joint and does not disappoint. Inside is always clean and the staff has been very friendly. There are not a ton of options but what they do focus on is burgers and that's what they do well. Sorry vegans I didn't see any meatless options but for those of you with gluten issues they will lettuce wrap and do a decent job. The burgers are big and juicy and always hit the spot. Yesterday we also tried one of their shakes and this was also delicious and a great treat. I had the double bacon bourbon burger and it was absolutely delicious. The onion rings are always crispy and one of my favorites as well. This is a great local place and priced very reasonable. I've given Main Street Burger a few different attempts over the past few months prior to writing my review. The most disappointing aspect of main Street is the lack of consistency. You can never trust the quality of food you're going to get and that is never something I'm willing to risk when you're paying top prices for a burger. One week you might get an incredibly cooked, flavorful, burger and the next will be overcooked and as stiff as a rock. The interior is pretty classical old Towne burger place which I enjoyed that vibe. The benches are to close to the table so if you're a bigger person it's very uncomfortable. This business is also one of the iPad "just a few questions" tip business which is getting out of hand. Tips should be done after service has been provided for good food and service. Not before. Also note: you have to "edit" your tip if you don't plan on leaving one, because it doesn't have a default no tipping on the main screen. It almost forces people to tip unless they sit deeper. Unfortunately after several attempts I won't be back for awhile. To many places that work to earn your business then to go somewhere that seems to like they couldn't care less. read more

My wife and I just moved to the Treasure Valley. On our first trip to the area 8 months ago, we had our first meal here. So, it is a little special for us. We came again yesterday. Keep in mind that we had burgers the day before at a well reviewed bar/restaurant in Middleton. For about 40% less, Main Street offered us flavorful, juicy patties far better than the other establishment. The staff is friendly and helpful. The fries are also good, hot and crispy. Headed out for a night of shopping and a quick dinner first. I 'Yelped' hamburgers and this place came up. We were not disappointed! The burgers are large with great toppings and a good bun. The only thing that wasn't perfect was that the burger was a little too overdone and dry. A juicier burger would have been better. The fries were awesome! I am not used to fry sauce so had to ask for ketchup. I was expecting this restaurant to smell greasy as most small fried food places do. Nice surprise, no fried greasy smell! Big plus in my book. Very disappointed in my hot dog basket. Hot dog resembled a convenience store hot dog bun was dry and no relish as I confirmed came with it. They're usually consistent and I called to say I didn't get the relish which they apologized for but didn't ask about how my meal was. read more

We stopped here on a whim and we're so glad we did. My husband and I both got bacon cheeseburgers and fries. The burgers were absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. There's not a lot of tables for dine in, but it was still a cute place. The service was friendly and the experience was great. We would definitely go back. read more

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. The food was WAY overpriced. Not to mention, there was no option to not tip when employees were rude as hell. I'm already paying 45 dollars for 2 burgers, 2 fries and two drinks. I could go to a sit down restaurant and pay less. The customer service was the worst I've encountered. We enjoyed this place because of how close in proximity it is. Decided to stop in today and had the worst service. A young lady had us tell her our order again at the window because she got the orders mixed up. We did and thought all was well. We received our order, glanced inside and it looked to be right. After driving off I noticed we received the order they initially thought was ours. After turning back we took the entire order into the store to show proof of wrong order. The young woman insisted that we were wrong to the point of us having to take everything out of the bag on the counter. which Is no problem.. it was the attitude we received when we did nothing wrong nor come at her in a negative way. They used to have some of the best burgers around for a decent price now its overpriced hamburgers that have the same quality as Dairy Queen. The milkshake we got was melted and overpriced too, 8 bucks for a shake we could have made at home. The service was at least friendly and kind of fast. They were out of every single drink except tea and water. The ambiance was kind of weird, there was no music. I love mom 'n pop (local) hamburger joints. You can tell they pull out all the stops when it comes to their food. Don't live too far from this place and I knew I'd hit them up sooner or later. My mouth was watering waiting in the drive-thru, especially when I find out it may be a bit of a wait as they make everything to order. Got a burger (this Asian can't do cheese), onion rings and corn dogs. Couldn't wait to get home and dig into this stuff. Alas, the burger was okay. My friend had the corn dogs and she really liked them. The stand out was the onion rings. They aren't hidden or swimming in dough or super greasy. Well, they did leave some big-o grease stains on the bag, but they didn't appear to be greasy when eating them. They taste best with fry sauce as ketchup kills the onion flavor - you just taste ketchup. Yes, local Idahoians, this transplant is learning to appreciate fry sauce. To date, the BEST burger I've had out here was at a grill in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Not fair to name the place here. So, as far as I'm concerned, this place is Main Street Onion Rings to me.
