Took my mom out plant shopping at Gale's Garden Center down the road and we worked up a little appetite. Center Ridge Road has a placenta, or is it plethora of fast casual dining options so the oyster was our world. We settled on Pita Way and I am glad we did. I saw Tee Grizzley on the menu so I immediately knew there was a Detroit affiliation with this place. Looks like it is a small chain from Michigan. The food was very fresh and tasty! Regardless of the stars, I just want to say the staff is so friendly and kind the day I came here. There was a line during prime dinner time and they kept the line moving quick. I will say that I think it is a tad expensive (it's the same price as brassica but with cheaper ingredients). I ordered the gyro meat and it was hardly seasoned and very dry. I love the concept and would come back every so often but price to quality didn't seem to match up. read more

My husband used to live in Egypt and has a LOT of strong opinions about gyros and shawarma; he's also always especially skeptical of takeaway spots. But... whoa, we both LOVED Pita Way, blowing his skepticism out of the water. We both ordered a sandweech (shawarma, essentially) with gyro meat, feta, onions, tomatoes and white sauce; he added fries to his, while I added garlic sauce and cucumbers to mine. The gyro meat was flavorful, juicy, well-seasoned, and not at all greasy. We also split a side of hummus, which was super creamy and tahini-forward. We did takeout, so I can't really speak to the vibe, but it was busy even on a Saturday evening an hour before closing, and the space was relatively large and very clean. The staff wasn't particularly friendly, seeming a little bit annoyed to have to serve folks so close to the end of the evening. But honestly the food was so good that I've already forgotten about it. (And the next time I went back, which wasn't as close to closing, everyone was great.) We live just down the road and look forward to eating at Pita Way much, much more often! read more

Three months ago I would've given this place 5 stars; however, 3 of my last 4 orders have been horrible. 10/13/24 was my last order and it was by far the worst. I called the restaurant and talked to the general manager. Best she could do is offer 50% off my next order if placed in restaurant. Gets one star for the place is clean. So I have eaten food from here before, which my son brought home Chicken shawarma dark meat it was pretty good, but he raved about their Brisket shawarma. Well brisket shawarma is no longer available on the menu. Thought they just open here recently? Went with the Detroit gyro $7.99& pickled turnip side. $.75 4oz. = a double side so $1.50 So Pickled Turnip flavor not bad, fresh & crunchy NOT! Gyro Thin pita not very fresh Very light on sauce Most importantly Very light on meat. It was edible but not necessarily enjoyable. Got takeout - a chicken shwarma and a gyro. Sandwiches were small, the bread was tough and we won't be back. We were spoiled by the Great Greek in Westlake which unfortunately just closed. Their gyros were big and the bread soft and thick. read more

Ordered a chicken pita for take out. I think this place has potential and could be really good. My biggest problem was the texture of the white meat chicken. It was legit the weirdest gummy/hard chicken I have ever tasted. Idk if it was from a can or what? I would give this place another shot. Gonna try the dark meat next time. Hopefully it will taste real. Also not a whole lot of value at $13 for a chicken pita. At $13 I shouldn't be hungry afterwards.
