Have been here twice before during trips to Cabo. Is a fun foodie experience with some unusual Baja flavors and dishes. We were with two other couples who enjoyed trying some things out of their comfort zone with great success. The Damiana liqueur which is made from a small native yellow flower is really unique. read more

We stayed at Hacienda Del Mar resort for a week and decided to stay on the property to eat and not take chances due to COVID. Pitahayas was our favorite restaurant because the food, service, and atmosphere on the Sea of Cortez were all incredible. I had the rib eye and my wife had the snapper. Both were amazing!! Our servers (Juan & Edwardo) were very attentive and described the dishes they brought to our table and served. It just made the evening perfect. read more

This was such a fun meal. The atmosphere and ambience were incredible. Such a beautiful restaurant with stunning views. We were there at sunset and saw fireworks and the international space station (random, but awesome!) the service was great, I had no complaints. An expensive ocean side restaurant with above average food. Every restaurants at the Sheraton is expensive but this is one of the highest. For some it's worth the money if you are willing to pay up, great service, good food, great ambiance. Beef tacos for appetizer - very tasty. Grilled fish of the day - 2 large pieces over risotto. Tasty and fresh. Filet mignon and lobster tail - small steak but enough, tasty and tender. Very small lobster, came on a small charcoal grill. I used the charcoal grill to warm up bite pieces steak which was convenience. Our total was 1600 pesos($114 usd) which included a cocktail and a beer. We made good of our timeshare presentation credits. read more

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Pitahayas for a fun more formal family dinner during our "family honeymoon". It was a beautiful location right on and overlooking the beach at the Sheraton Hacienda. I didn't think it was too overpriced and the food was some of the best we've ever had! The lobster Risotto appetizer was to die for and everyone LOVED their meals. They then brought over a special "Happy Honey Moon" dessert plate. Thanks so much for making this such a wonderfully memorable dinner! (Also, there's a beautiful separate bar area if you just want to go hang out & have some drinks overlooking a beautiful view. Gorgeous location -- with beach front seating. Highly recommend for the location alone. Started with a delicious soup -- complimentary. Ordered the soft soft shell crab and the shrimp taquitos appetizers -- which were quite nice. Dinner -- ordered the eggplant wonton tower (okay -- not great -- but am a vegetarian so that was my only option) and the shrimp special (which was excellent). Wine by the glass options were quite good. Service was excellent. Both servers were incredibly patient to speak with my 14 yo son in Spanish. Recommend -- but it is cold! Wear warm clothing if you wish to sit on the water -- or bring wrap (as we did) and enjoy the glorious crashing waves. read more

This is weirdest meal I have ever had in my life... It is like the restaurant doesn't know what it wants to be and throws a hodge podge of weird flavors together. I ordered the Bento box and there were 4 small plates (full disclosure I don't eat meat but even those plates were weird) One with mashed potatoes, the others had linguine with oil, asparagus wrapped with eggplant and the last plate was a scoop of quinoa. The desserts were even weirder with pistachio mousse and basil ice-cream on one plate. Although the location was nice and the service was great, It was expensive and would of been happier eating something from the mini market. I saw good reviews.. But to each his own. So I'm not a big spender on expensive food. But sometimes you just have to try it. Pitahayas was well with the experience. It's was perhaps some of the best seafood that I have consumed, the tuna was amazing, just melted in my mouth and very flavorful. It's also a romantic setting with the ocean just feet away. My wife and I went just before sunset and it was really nice. Great wait staff and the food is worth the price, you have to try it. Don't let the disgruntled vegetarian reviews discourage you, this is a fresh seafood restaurant in Mexico. If your a vegetarian why go to a seafood restaurant. read more

I've given this place so many chances. We have been coming down here for years. Several times tried the restaurant and the food is overpriced and served cold. They try, but not worth the horrible service. We stopped eating here, but like to come for drinks and watch the sunset. The place is really pretty, but there is no management supervising their staff. Most places down in Cabo give you excellent service with several servers. We had to wait for drinks and they never come back to take another order or bring your check. We have sat at the nice bar with the fire pit and the bartenders there are not very friendly. Whatever you do. Only order beer. Their martinis are horrible and all the liqueur here is watered down. I've tried the martinis and not drinkable. I've also ordered Don Julio on the rocks and it was the weakest straight tequila I ever tasted, basically watered down tequila. Last spring we went and sat at the newer bar at the far end of Pitahayas toward the golf course. There was no one there and we were hoping for a romantic time to watch the sunset. The bartender didn't speak great english so it was hard to order a tequila on the rocks with salt and lots of lime. The worst part was, since there was no manager around, they were blasting the loudest, most rude rap music. Hey, I like loud rock and roll, but to be at the Sheraton Hotel in a beautiful, quiet, serene sunset setting, hearing XXX-rated Rap music blaring was downright rude. It was obvious the management had no idea this was playing. There are a lot of older people that were sitting nearby in the restaurant. Don't get me wrong. This is a beautiful setting and the decor is nice, but when you have get up and find someone anytime you want a drink or your bill or you like being ignored, then this place is for you. If you like watered down drinks, horrible overpriced food and not a very friendly staff, then have fun. I would highly recommend eating at many of the other wonderful places in Cabo. If you are staying here, plan your meals elsewhere or just have a beer or wine in the bar. Sorry Pitahayas, you have let us down way too many times. Get some new management in there to train your staff and step it up on the food and beverage service. read more

For starters we had the shrimp taquitos -- two small shrimp served creatively on a small wedged slice of cucumber -- they were delicious. We had the tuna salad -- very refreshing cuts of tuna and watermelon on a slightly spicy sauce with an occasional slice of spicy serrano -- it too was delicious. The bread platter and small sample of sherbet was delicious as well. Our group had the shrimp plate, the pork, and the beef. The shrimp plate was good -- 4 jumbo shrimp on a fried banana/avocado with a few dry sauces. The pork was OK -- served on a bed of lentils. The beef, well let's just say my wife couldn't walk back to our room before throwing up and shitting all over the place. We didn't realize we had ordered the laxative add-on. All in all the place was beautiful and the food was good but a bit pricy for food poisoning. read more

I ate here with my family the other night for the third time in the last 2 years. I really wanted to like this place, hence the second and third chances. It's a beautiful, beachfront, open-air setting with stunning views and excellent service. The menu is creative and very appealing. Unfortunately, the execution is the problem. I had the trio of fish (ahi, butterfish, and red snapper, I think?). Except for the ahi, the fish was overcooked and dry. It was also over-sauced. My husband ordered the beef medium rare and that was also a bit overdone. The highlight of the meal was the complimentary lentil soup brought out shortly after we arrived (I guess sort of an "amuse bouche" but more of an appetizer portion). My kids enjoyed their fettuccini Alfredo. I don't think we will return. For those prices I expect higher quality. read more
