My husband and I ate at 12 Tribes twice during our stay at Casa Dorada. Admittedly the food the first night wasn't as good as the second. I'd give the place 3.5 stars if I could, but rounding up to 4 for ambiance and awesome server. We were lucky to have Miguel as our server two nights in a row. He was fun, very hospitable, and always offered us shots to get the night started. On the first night, we had a dinner reservation at 12 Tribes for 7pm on a Wednesday. We were in Cabo during the off season, so I realized that we would've been fine without the reservation. That said, our reserved table was one by the glass rail overlooking the water. Can't beat the view! We ordered a Caesar salad and lobster bisque to share. I must say that I was impressed by the presentation of the food on the dishes. The lobster bisque was a particular showstopper. I enjoyed the smoky flavor of the Caesar but felt that the romaine lettuce was wilted. Did not taste crisp at all. The lobster bisque was flavorful. My husband commented on it tasting fishy to him, but I didn't mind that at all. I ordered the seabass as my entree. I was hoping it was Chilean seabass, but it was far from it. The fish was dense and mushy. Not flaky or butter as I would've liked. I hate to say that I liked the sides of roasted veggies and truffle mushroom risotto much better than the fish itself. My husband got the ribeye, which was alright. It was no different than a ribeye we could've made at home. The meat was also really fatty, so he took off an equal amount of fat to protein. I got the tres leches as my dessert. As much as I love tres leches, I felt that their cake was way too sweet. I had a couple of bites and was done because of the sugar overload. The food on the 2nd night was much better. They were having a special menu for all you can eat tacos. I had the shrimp taco, fish taco, and brisket taco. The shrimp taco was my favorite, but the brisket was a close second. They had a fresh salsa bar for the tacos, and the habanero one was no joke! 12 Tribes was connected to the sushi bar and pizza place, so you could order from their menus as well. On the first night, we ordered salmon sashimi from the sushi bar. The salmon was fresh, but I thought that they gave too much rice. On the 2nd night, we got a shrimp tempura roll from the sushi bar, which was pretty good. I thought it was interesting how they gave us extra sauces (eel sauce, mango sauce, and a wasabi mayo sauce) to dress up the roll.

12 Tribes, is the fine dining restaurant, at the Casa Dorada Resort, in Cabo San Lucas. It has a spectacular open air location, with stunning views of Medano Beach. The ambiance is mucho relajación. There are well spaced tables, both full open air and on a higher, slightly enclosed space. The menu is limited, but has adequate selections, for the non picky dining guest. So why did I come here. My MO is that on the first night, you should try the best restaurant on the property. Then on the last night, you should relax, go there too (only if it is deserving). In this case, both my dinner aspirations were fulfilled. On the first visit, I ordered the De la Baja Salad (Lettuce heart, Citrus Vinaigrette, local Vegetables, fresh Miraflores Cheese, roasted Peanuts, crispy Tortilla strips & Coriander Dressing). This was amazing. Then asked for bread and butter and they delivered superbly toasted and buttered slices of cranberry bread. I could not stop eating it. Nothing like I have ever had before so superb. For the entree, I chose the grilled fish fillet with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Not sure the potatoes were real, they tasted as from a powdered box. On my last night, I had the lobster bisque. This came to the table as a bowl with a large parmesan crisp and a slice of rounded lobster at the base. The server then surrounded the dish with the thick lobster bisque delivered through a mini tea pot (see all my pictures please). Lovely presentation, except that he finally doused the parmesan crisp to make it soggy. For the entree, I settled for the beef tenderloin (medium rare, of course) with asparagus bundles (came with two). Meat was good, tender, slightly overcooked, lacked juiciness, but with a very different flavor. Overall, a nice seafront finale, to my last day, in Cabo. Muchas Gracias.

Stayed in an Airbnb while in Cabo (in Sept) and our concierge suggested 12 Tribes located in the Casa Dorada hotel for the food and the view. The only bad thing I can say is our reservation were too late in the day to see the water and Cabo's landmark rock. Otherwise, this white cloth restaurant fit the bill for our night to dress up with the family. The food, service the ambiance was top notch.

It's a cute spot right next to the water and its very romantic... but they don't know how to cook their meat. This is raw not medium rare... very disappointed

Food was amazing, great views, attentive servers and enjoyable ambiance. We had the salmon, taco trio and garlic butter grilled lobster, one of the best meals in cabo I've had and let me tell you this is my 5th time to cabo. The food presentation is beautiful. Can't wait to come back!

Disclaimer before I begin: we are members of Casa Dorada and we love the place. On to our review. We've been members of Casa for a long time and 12 tribus is a star fixture of the resort in our opinion. The food is outstanding and the service top notch. There hasn't been a time in which we have the slightest complaint. The staff knows our favorite table which 99.8% of the time we get. However, in our last visit topped all of our previous visits. We had been there 10 days and on a conversation with Adal, our Maitre we mentioned how good the food and the service is and with the new chef there are interesting offers. The chef came to our table and one thing to the other the conversation ended in Mexican gastronomy. Since it was almost out time to return the chef suggested (get this) prepare us a personalize menus with the focus on traditional Mexican fare. I'm telling you it was sheer magic. To begin our host Jared made sure we got our table overlooking the bay and the wonderful beach. We began with chips with assorted sauces from aromatic to spicy and everything in between. The fresh salad with cheese and purple tortilla chips was a delight. The fresh combination of ingredients help clear the heat of the previous sauces. Then came the star of the night fish wrapped in Acuyo leaf (a very aromatic herb) with Mexican rice, plantain fritters and cucumber. The fish came with another sauce to enhanced the flavors without overwhelming the delicate flavor of the fish and the aroma of the leaf. All these a feast to these vea and spaced just right with the right wine pairing recommended by Adal. But stop everything! Desert was an almost mystical revelation; chocolate tamale with the corn wrap with a fresh fruit and ice cream. I can tell you this it was an amazing dinner and a beautiful end to a vacation. Chef Uriel Medina price that there is no limit to his creativity. This is a young raising star and a name to watch. His creativity and finesse in execution is apparent in the right combination of flavors and colors and with the right wine you're in heaven. Do yourself a favor, when in Los Cabos visit 12 Tribus and make sure your team is Jared, Adal (he is a jewel), and Chef Uriel. You will not be disappointed.

OMG, you have to eat here!! Oscar and Christian were our waiters. We had steak and lobster, the chef special. The food was so amazing. The wait staff were over the top amazing. This was the best meal we have had in Cabo!! Can't wait to go back!! Mmmm

The views from this restaurant are insane! The service was also top notch. I ordered the ceviche which had olives in it. Can't say I've ever tried ceviche like that before and probably would have been better without

This place is absolutely amazing! Made a dinner reservation last night and were seated almost 30 minutes early. The hostess prepared a spot for two so we could have a beautiful view. The strawberry & mango margaritas are delicious!! My boyfriend and I are coming back tonight because we received a coupon for 2 free welcome drinks. There are not enough words to describe the food! I am not typically a fan of steak but I ate every piece in my order of the Mexican Platter. Because we were celebrating my graduation, I received a tres leche with my name on it, no additional cost! Again, absolutely delicious!!! Staff were so friendly. We also got our churros for free because of a miscommunication between our server and manager. Cannot recommend this place enough!!

Resort close to ours. Kevin, our waiter, did a great job with service. We were seated right away and our dinner was fabulous. Asparagus for apps. Shrimp tacos, pork and lobster. My lobster was incredible. And churros to end the evening. Restaurant was pretty empty which surprised us because its literally on the beach and a gorgeous view. Ver nice restaurant with outdoor dining and really nice decor. On Medano Beach. Will be back for sure.

What a delightful little restaurant. My husband and I try not to "repeat" restaurants as much as we can; but after trying this place out for lunch on our first day, we just couldn't help but go back. So much so, that the staff knew us and our order(s) well!! We actually ended up dining here every day we were staying at Casa Dorada...some times stopping in multiple times (lunch, snack, and/or dinner). Most days we ate here for lunch, which was my favorite. They have the most amazing fish tacos, which are WAY better than any of the other options we tried based on high Yelp reviews and/or recommendations from others. They just blew all the others out of the water. The fish was so fresh, the portions were extremely generous (3 huge tacos that we split between the two of us, and at $6 were quite the steal!!), and flavor was wonderful. Not to mention the tacos come with a huge side of toppings (including their pico and guac, which was some of - if not THE - best we tried in Cabo). We also really enjoyed their tuna tostadas, guacamole/ceviche, and coconut shrimp, which we often would stop in for after showering for a quick HH/snack hour. We also dined here one of the evenings - we didn't do their steak/lobster deal (3 course meal with wine pairings)...instead we opted to go a la carte, since we felt more like having sea food. It was such an intimate, quite, romantic dining experience with such amazing views. Definitely try out 12 Tribes, even if you don't stay at Casa Dorada!! You won't be disappointed :)

Calamari Fresh, tender, and very well cooked. Seafood Special Combination Fish and squid were excellent. Lobster and shrimp were okay, nothing too special compared to the others. Price & Value The prices here are unbelievably cheap. * 6 chocolate clams = 285 pesos * Waldorf restaurant: 2 clams for $48 USD * Another place we tried: 2 clams for 340 pesos After eating around Cabo, this place clearly stood out for both quality and price.
