Pitas to go is a NO GO for me. I was craving a beef Shawarma wrap for weeks and decided to drop by after work. I was the only customer there and it took so long for the cook to prepare the food to go. Although he was very friendly and super clean about the food preparation, it did not live up to what I was expecting at all. As a lover of Mediterranean food, I was rather excited that there was a place closer to my work than Janet's up in Duarte. Although the place is a little on the small side, they had a pretty impressive variety of options. For my initial visit, I opted for the Lula Kabob plate for $6.99, which I thought was a pretty good value considering the amount of food I was given: salad, pita bread, your choice of rice or bulgar pilaf and your choice of hummus or baba ghannoosh. Although flavorful, my Lula kabob was rather dry, which served as a major disappointment. Everything else was okay, but I came nowhere close to finishing up my meal, due to the sheer volume. This time I opted for the lula kebab. It was a tad dry and lacking flavor. The salad however, was on point. Just because the portions are large, does not mean the food is amazing. Like I've said before, people tend to confuse a lot of food, with good food. I think if you are not that familiar with Med/Middle Eastern cuisine, this place is for you. Why is it that when you see it on websites, food portions always seem so small? I made a mental note to share with my mom after finding out how big the plate was, but it was just too damn good. It came with a side salad, hummus, and pita on the side. You even get a choice of what rice you want. Anyway, mom came home, and of course, she's picking and dipping and whatnot. I looked at my mom and I was like, "GIRL IF YOU WANTED SOME, YOU SHOULD'VE ASKED." But to no avail. She reminded me of my origins and where my dying place would be if I gave her lip ever again. I enjoyed eating here least every other week. #57 is my favorite. When in a rush and plan to eat as you go, you can't go wrong with the chicken wrap. The spices used to marinade the chicken are an explosion of flavor to your tastebuds. The salad dressing is just as amazing. I can eat their hummus by the barrel, not to mention the garlic butter. My husband and I do love Mediterranean food - seeing this a few times as we passed by the strip mall where it's located - so we decided to try it out. It was a hot day & we thought something light like this might hit the spot. I agree - the portions are large, but as it never fails to amaze me - LARGE DOES NOT EQUAL GOOD. The food was bland - my husbands Kabob was dry and overcooked. My Greek salad was not flavorful or well plated. The hummus was ok but it wasn't spectacular instead it tasted like any store brand. Absolutely ridiculous service today. Actually most days the service is poor. Came in and placed my order for a small salad and chicken $9, crazy price but whatever. Then 6 people order ahead of me. 5 police officers that did not appear to be in a rush. So what do they do? They push my order to the side and don't make it until the 6 after me. I've been here a few times. The food and service were ok, but today was disgusting. I saw the cook put food in his mouth while he was making someone's call-in order. When I went to get my drink, I noticed that the soda machine was filthy. The drink I got didn't even look right, so I had to dump it and get something else. I love love love this place! Whenever I bring someone new to this place I get them hooked. They all agree how wonderful the texture of the meats are and how moist it is. A very different flavor from all Mediterranean places i've been to. This one definitely hits the spot! There meats are juicy and well marinated. I always get the Luleh and a side of Chicken to get the best of both world. Both are delicious. I have also tried the kebob, that too was very delicious. Almost tasted like a filet minon. very soft! I can't stop raving about this place. I try to get my "Pitas to Go" fix at least once a month. If I didn't live far i would be here every week. I don't know about you but the more I talk about it the more my mouth is watering. That hummus!!! Mmmmmm I want some more! This was my first time here! I have drove pass multiple times but the line was always out the door. So I went at 10:30am before the lunch rush. My wife had the Veggie Wrap and I had the Lamb Chop Plate (4 pieces of Lamb with White Rice, Hummus and a side salad with non-sweetened Ice Tea. After the meal, the owner gave us a sweet desert. I eat here about 4 x a month. I do love the food here! I went Vegan two years ago and still eat here regularly! If you eat meat, the chicken kabob plate was my favorite with Bulgar and hummus. Now I usually get a side of tabbouleh and a side of hummus (with a pita), or lentil soup, or the falafel salad. The owner is there everyday and everyone is very friendly. I work right down the street from here and I called in my order ahead of time. The man I spoke with let me know my food would be ready in 10 min. I waited a few minutes before checking out for lunch and got there right as they were packing my food. The two people (the man I spoke with on the phone and a young lady) that were working there greeted me as soon as I entered. They were both very sweet. I've called in to-go orders regularly bc making a plate takes at least 10 minutes, when they're not busy. You know what? That means the food isn't sitting under heat lamps waiting for me. And that's why I go here. I've never even SEEN a heat lamp here. What I HAVE seen is an older gentleman (with the greatest smile!) wearing a rubber glove laying slices of chicken on the barbecue grill in front of me, telling his coworker (employee?), 'she'll wait, I asked her, she's getting chicken.' He was totally right. And wait I did! I usually get the chicken & steak combo ($10.99) that comes with a small salad, white rice, hummus, medium drink, and a generously-sized pita. I've been searching for some good Mediterranean style food around the office for a while, and am happy to have finally found this place. I ordered the chicken & beef plate with wheat-rice and hummus. The meat was flavorful and cooked well, and the hummus was exactly what I'd hoped for. The side salad was kind of a joke, but I consider that more of an extra anyway. It's not the best Greek food I've had, but with the lack of options around here, this is a godsend. It's tough to beat this place for healthy, fresh, quality food at a reasonable price. You get 4 pieces of juicy, tasty, pieces of chicken , choice of rice pilaf or wheat, humus, and a small cucumber salad with greek dressing all for $8. Awesome food and staff! From the outside, I didn't have high expectations. However, the garlic chicken is fantastic, the hummus great, and the baklava tempting. Reasonably priced, costs me 8-9 for a quality lunch that I don't feel guilty about. Wheat rice offered as a healthy option and it is good. Quick enough I can get it on my lunch break. Ingredients taste like they are high quality- the grilled chicken is savory and doesn't have fat or bad cuts.
