The food is good, However the prices have steadily gone up since covid. and Unfortunately I don't think $15 for chicken and rice is realistic anymore. The 1 star is for the owner and the other older man who are PREPARING the food, without masks on, while the rest of their team wears masks (they have been doing that since the beginning of the year). Wow this was great, I wasn't expecting that. From the outside it doesn't look like much. It's in a strip mall in the middle of nowhere next to a Jimmy Johns and Farmer Boys. My brother told me it was good and I trust his opinion, but I was still skeptical. It's Pittas to Go, I mean come on. But they sure showed me. I got the beef shawarma plate with cracked wheat. The beef was just great. Very nutmegy and flavorful. The hummus was nutmeg heavy too but I dug it. Clean, simple salad. The cracked wheat surprised me the most though. I've never had cracked wheat that tasted so good. It blew me away. My brother's chicken was good, just a little over cooked, but he said that was the first time he had encountered that. The old man at the register needs to go. The owner is trying to cut costs by being the cashier and is doing a horrible job. He is incredibly slow and cannot multi-task. He is hard of hearing and has an attitude half the time. Any one of the workers on staff would perform better than he can as cashier. He also keeps raising prices regularly which is very disappointing. Food is decent, but with rising prices will no longer be worth it. read more

Pitas To Go in Baldwin Park is a little hole-in-the-wall in a strip mall. First impression - not great! Ordered a beef shawarma sandwich and a side salad of taboulie for a total of $13 - ouch! The salad was awful [probably prepared the day before] as well as being small for an overpriced $4 - I threw it away. The sandwich [$6] was so-so - I ate it because I was hungry. Drink $2. I just started working in the area, the only middle eastern or ethnic for that matter around, I have to admit that I wend with very low expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. Went way out of my way to stop by this place, I was there a little after 11:00 am and didn't leave with my chicken plate until 11:45, if I hadn't prepaid, I would have left, when I DID get my food, I found the rice was so- so, the hummes was good and the Pita bread was stone cold and then I got to the chicken, this is what I was looking for and it was dry, overcooked with very little of the flavor I was looking for. This is a solid, quick lunch. The beef or chicken Sharma is delicious, comes over rice or cracked wheat with a small salad and an excellent hummus and pita. The entire meal is very filling as it's huge. The staff is always friendly and there is even a sign that thanks their customers and apologizes for any wait time during their rush hour and any inconvince it may cause, I find that telling. It is not fancy, it is fairly priced and I have yet to be disappointed in a meal. read more

I went here last week on Friday and was very disappointed with their chicken kabob plate. Their chicken had a rubbery texture. It almost felt raw. The rice is decent taste. The salad gets really hot because they serve together with the rest of the food and the pita bread becomes super stale like in 10 minutes. The guys there were friendly but the place was lonely which should have been my first hint. Never going back. read more

Close to the Ren Faire site, has great baklava, and their Greek salad with chicken is so goddamn good. I don't know what spices and herbs they use in the dressing but I seriously want a gallon of it to take home. The food is wonderful. The service on the other hand..... I wish I could give it 2 1/2 because of the way I felt leaving the place. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate over the phone. When I got there to pay, an older gentleman rang me up. He couldn't find the item on the register (because it's not on the menu, I substitute the beef shawarma for chicken) after about 5 minutes of him scrambling, I told him "I'm not sure if you have a button for it, it's not on the menu" he responded "why didn't you tell me that in the first place?! First time here and the last! They have poor cust ok mer service because of the old man. I went in for lunch and ordered the Chicken Shawarma wrap no tomatoes. The girl at the register didnt know how to enter the order in the register (I think she was new) so ask the old man how to enter it with no tomatoes.
