Awful and frightening experience…read more I had a very disturbing experience at Hounds Town that I feel obligated to share. On two separate occasions, my dog was harmed after being left in their care. The first incident involved my dog contracting kennel cough, which required a vet visit and antibiotics. I notified Hounds Town, and while they offered a couple of free days to make up for it, there was no real accountability or reassurance beyond that. After debating whether to return, I gave them another chance -- and deeply regret it. About an hour after dropping my dog off, I received a voicemail stating that my dog had been attacked. No emergency contacts were called, my workplace was not contacted, and my veterinarian was never called. When I arrived to pick him up, my dog was still bleeding, which makes me believe he had been left alone rather than receiving immediate care. I had to take him back to the vet again. When you trust a business with your pet, you expect safety, supervision, and immediate action in an emergency. That did not happen here. The lack of urgency, communication, and basic emergency protocol is extremely concerning. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place to anyone who values their dog's safety.

The facility is well taken care of, clean and the owners and workers are all friendly and very nice. They went out of their way to be accomodating. Also, they REALLY care about the animals and even help out Animal Care and Control to try and get dogs adopted and give them some time outside the pound. The owners were extremely nice and friendly. They seemed to know everyone. Quick to react/help and with a smile. HIGHLY recommend.

I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am that I hired this company - my husband and I were…read moregoing out of town for two whole weeks I spoke with the owner Charlotte and I explained my situation to her and she recommended two 45 minute visits and then a 15 minute at night just for bedtime because my dogs have to stay in a crate if I am not home. I also have two cats and my boy cat needs medication every day. He takes it fairly easy, but you still need somebody who knows what they're doing. So the first visit in the morning is a 45 minute visit the dogs get fed,and they take the time to go outside and really play with the dogs and throw the ball for them and make sure they get their exercise. While they're outside, she came in and gave the cats their wet food and the one his medicine and also cleaned out and checked the litter boxes and the water daily. On either of my first or second day, I got a phone call that there was a lot of blood in the house and one of my cats was bleeding profusely. She sent me a photo and I know the cat had a little red raspberry in that spot and I assume that either he bit it off or it got scratched off. it was quite a bit of blood and it wouldn't stop. Between Dana and Charlotte they took the cat to the vet who numbed the area and did something to stop the bleeding They also knew a Carpet Cleaner who came in the very next day and cleaned my chairs and the carpet. Dana and Charlotte went through and thoroughly cleaned my house because there was blood on the walls, on the floor, and everywhere I can't imagine another pet sitting company going to the degree that they went to to make sure my animals were safe and that my house and furniture was not ruined oh, and every visit I got several photos of each animal, which made me happy as well

Once I arranged the details with Renee, we found out that my dog was missing a shot required by the boarding facility, so Renee and her colleague turned on a dime and made the two stops required to get the situation resolved. They have a strong network in St. Augustine, and were able to recommend a vet that could see the dog immediately.
