Whereas I didn't feel super welcomed by the gentleman upfront, my experience with this wine bar that has so much potential was okay-ish. I pondered if a 2-star rating would be appropriate but he was a lot nicer when I was leaving (he said a firm thanks) and extra stat was added to the whole rating. During my visit in Taos, I had a chance to go to a few different wine places and none of them did "flights". Whereas the other place was generous enough to let me taste more than a handful of their reds this place only gave me one of them (which I didn't care for.) I didn't want to be an entitled customer so I (out of politeness) refrained from asking me for a few more samples. I hence opted out on ordering a full glass for something I might not enjoy as all I could get were the descriptions of several other reds he said. I sure was hungry though so I ordered the mixed green salad and the rotating dessert (some sponge spice cake with date in it.) Both of them (when I ate them later in my hotel room) were okay to decent but I wasn't nowhere near "impressed". Will I go back here when I am in town again? Maybe but I can simply go to the other one I liked more or some vineyards that are 20-30 minutes from the center of Taos. It appears that some other people experienced the same questionable customer service experience (based on their reviews) when I felt "unwelcome" or even "being dismissed" I know that it wasn't personal. This is such a great little spot for charcuterie and wine. The selection is always on point and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. It's the kind of place where you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy catching up with a friend over a good glass of wine. The staff was awesome. When our server found out we were celebrating the end of my cancer treatment and being cancer free, he surprised us by paying for our appetizer. That small gesture meant so much and made the night extra special. I'll definitely be coming back here. read more

We were walking around Taos and wanted to grab a small bite to eat to kill some time. Parcht, a wine bar with light bites, was absolutely perfect for this. We ordered the build your own board - I can't pass up a charcuterie board - with two cheese and two meats. If I remember correctly we got a delicious duck pate, capicolla, brie, and another type of cheese. Olives, mustard, and cornichons (small pickles) were served with the charcuterie. I also ordered a glass of the Vietti Moscato as I prefer sweeter wines. Everything was great. I cannot remember the gentleman's name who served us as we sat at the bar but he was fantastic and gave us some great recommendations for Taos and Santa Fe. This little bar was such a serendipitous find. My sister and I were looking for an easy to find, close to our hotel, place to eat. We wanted small plates, comfort, good food and good wine in a friendly atmosphere. We found it all here. Such a gracious welcome, no pressure, just "here is what we have, take a look." We ordered the bread and dipping olive oil and warm olives to begin, then saw the "build your own charcuterie board", so we did. It was so good, wish we could have added a salad but we were too full. Really enjoyed this wine bar. It was my first stop in town after driving up from Albuquerque and checking in to my hotel. I deliberated over some places I had bookmarked but wasn't hungry enough for a full dinner. I ordered a delicious balsamic kale salad with beets, goat cheese and Pepitas plus a charcuterie board with locally-baked bread, salmon mousse, duck rillette, salami and Gouda cheese, all carefully sourced (curated?) from providers around the U.S. and the world. I like Spanish wines so tried an Albariño and a Tempranillo. The salad with the balsamic dressing was the perfect thing to compliment all the filling bread and rich charcuterie choices. Ralph (see photo) is a native Taosian with family on both side that have been here for hundreds of years. He was not only knowledgeable about his food and wine but had many recommendations for other places in town and stories about the history of wine varietals. A very fun experience and a recommended first stop in town to get the lay of Taos! By the way, Parcht has the same ownership as The Gorge located on the second floor above Parcht. I could hear the roar of a busy restaurant as I walked by the stairs. Walking into Parcht was relatively quiet, with people sitting at tables. This WAS my wife's favorite place during our trip to Taos. The price was very reasonable. The food was excellent. The service was the best. We purchased more food than we could eat. We ended up taking to-go boxes after dinner. We were staying a resort. We ate the leftovers for lunch the next day and still had enough to share with our dogs when we returned to Albuquerque. We had the build your own board, pick six; along with various sides. We also ordered the house-made red wine vinegar + sea salt chips. Surprisingly, these chips were far better the next day at lunch. They do have some beer. I had a porter and a red wine with dinner. I have absolutely no complaints about this restaurant (except it was a little difficult for me to find it). We came here on a weekend trip to ski a little and happened across this wonderful establishment. From the second we walked in the ambiance was as perfect as it could get, we were greeted immediately with soft and warm welcomes. We had a long hot day hiking our way along the road to Taos so this cool basement bar was a refreshing find in that weird post-lunch, pre-happy hour time. Had a gorgeous glass of pinot noir (dang it. Can't remember which it was...) and we picked out some cheese from their long list of offerings. It was tough to pick only three for our cheese board (But don't worry, you're not limited to three. We were just not very hungry) but somehow we managed. And we cleaned the plate! What a treat to discover this hidden lair!!! I was meandering around the arts & crafts fair at Kit Carson Park with some local friends, and boy, all that walkin' and talkin' can make a gal thirsty. They mentioned this wine bar little jewel of a joint they like to frequent tucked below and off the main plaza, and how they like to order the "brown bag" mystery pour feature of the day which is offered in both a red or white selection *cue Billy Joel...bottle of red....bottle of white...it all depends upon your appetite...* It was fantastic. Nicolette was a gem. The atmosphere was intimate, cozy, hip...the vibe was, well, let's just say that maximum chillaxification was achieved. I caught a glimpse of the charcuterie board & burrata w/seasonal heirloom tomatoes from a nearby table, and I could hear them ooohing and awwwing in delight...it was everything in my might to resist ordering (but I had boeuf bourguignon & a cheese platter waiting for me at a friend's house and needed to save my appetite)...nonetheless, this is the perfect place to grab a nosh when you need a break from gallery hopping, or to impress that first date. read more

This place was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. I love that you can pick a bottle off the wall to buy, or buy by the glass. Their "bites" were super tasty. I was expecting the portions to be small, but that was not the case! We got their house made chips, which was an enormous portion but sadly not very crunchy/crispy. We also got the feta/rosemary dip, which had amazing flavor but was very salty. Methinks goat cheese might have been a better option. We also added the smoked trout which was very good though for some reason I thought it would be a dip as well. I didn't ask, so that's on me. Even though we were already stuffed, I forced the hand on the burrata which made me so happy I couldn't even stand it. It could have used some of the salt from the feta dip, but I still dug deep to finish it. We also had the chocolate tart which was good. We took the pb cup home for when we'd finally digested. I was delighted to find ParCht tucked away under The Gorge Grill. They offer a $5 "mystery pour" of red or white, and you get to guess what fine beverage you are imbibing. The owners are down to talk with you about wines, how to develop your wine tasting skills, discussing the history of New Mexico wines (or any ol' wines) and also are more than happy to offer up a fine small plates section. I dig the New Mexico Feta cheese with smoked trout and olive bread. I definitely spend more here than I should, but it is always worth it. So we came all the way to Taos to find an amazing wine, cheese, and charcuterie place. Sound odd? Yeah, we thought so too. In truth, we happened upon ParCht simply to kill time and have a glass of wine before trying to snag an early reservation at Love Apple when the open the phone lines at 4:30pm (don't judge - when we ski, we may as well be senior citizens). As luck would have it, we didn't get a reservation and ended up having a glorious sampling of wine, cheese, and charcuterie. Some of the standout notable mentions are the mustard and chutney that accompany the charcuterie boards. The Lusty Monk mustard is life-changing. Very potent, great flavor, and as we've discovered - orderable! And the house-made chutney is perfectly balanced - tart, sweet (but not syrupy, and a kick of spice. The La Quercia proscuitto was so outstanding that it's another item we're searching to source locally. Of the cheeses, the Bufala di Quattro (sp?) was also intriguing and delicious. The menu suggests careful curation as well as a wonderful attention to quality and respect for simplicity. Well done, ParCht. Best accidental dinner in a long time. read more

I had read several intriguing reviews on Parcht and wanted to try it. It wasn't very busy on Tuesday night but we were greeted nicely and shown to a nice table. We ordered 2 very good glasses of wine (chardonnay and a red blend). I then ordered the warm olive and rosemary mixture. It was fantastic. We then ordered a 4 item charcuterie tray with 2 cheeses and 2 meats. All were very good. Especially good was the warm olive bread coated with warm olive oil. With wonderful service, great wines and super charcuterie offerings, this is a real jewel. It you are in town, stop by, you will not be disappointed. read more
