I actually really enjoy their cheese pizza (~$10 for a personal/small). The dough is crisp without being overcooked, and the pizza is well-balanced to taste the cheese, sauce, and dough. The owner is friendly and the pizzas are made quickly. This is a solid local pizza shop. read more

Pizza Castle is takeout (or delivery) only, which I didn't realize, but no biggie. We took it to go. It falls into that category of "generic American style pizza" that many of the National chains serve, but the quality is probably a step up. If I had any complaint it would be that the sauce was a bit uneven; some parts of the pizza had very little but then I would get a bite with the robust saucy goodness I wanted. I will definitely order it with extra sauce next time. It isn't a drive across town kind of place, because like I said it is pretty generic, but for a neighborhood pizza joint it does what it needs to. It was not a good experience. I live in the neighborhood. I ordered two subs, one was a tuna sub the other was a steak and cheese. They were both very lite weight and tiny portions of both the tuna and the steak, with plenty of sub roll. I ordered the combo meal for one of the subs that included fries and a soda. I selected a grape soda in a plastic bottle but was told that I had to choose from the 12oz canned sodas only. My bill came to $29.63. As I left the store I fell like I just got robbed. read more

Awesome little hidden gem. We ordered it at work, almost entirely as an ironic choice due to the name. Worst case, we figured pizza is pizza. Well, this pizza was pretty good. It's a little on the firmer side, the cheese is quality, and the sauce is on the sweet side. If that sounds good to you, give them a go. I came here after returning a rental car and realizing that all the food courts at work would be closed. It's a decent hole in the wall spot, tucked away at the back of the hillandale shopping center in case you also happen to be returning a rental car. The sandwich took about fifteen minutes to make but I think there were only two people working. I was pretty hungry so I ordered an 8 inch veggie sub for around $7. The sandwich was pretty small and skinny...but maybe I misjudged due to my hunger so I ate it in two minutes (without choking luckily). I'd probably order the footlong if I go back. The sub was good; definitely more fresh than subway. I thought it was basic sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños that I could make at home but it satisfied my hunger. They also make pizzas, burgers, wraps, hot subs, and a bunch of different sides. It's decent if you're looking for a casual bite to eat in the white oak area. I have to say this is my favorite pizza and wings take out. The food is always perfect the pizza is always delicious and plenty of cheese and toppings. The wings are crispy yet so juicy I feel 10 wings aren't enough. They also have excellent desserts, I personally love tiramisu and they have the best dessert you can get from a take out restaurant. The staff as usual are super friendly and nice and always strive to meet customer's satisfactions. If you happen to be there make sure you check out the dessert menu. read more

Love love love this pizza place. Maybe it should be a 4 and not a 5 but there are so many bad pizza places in the dmv that are highly rated and this place beats them all. Crust is not too thick and the toppings and cheese are always tasty as hell. No pork here, I don't miss having bacon on the pizza surprisingly. The people working there are super nice too. The fries and fried shrimp were good there too and worth ordering again. read more

This is a combo review because we have ordered twice in two weeks and I didn't post the first time. The first time was a weekday lunch and I gave them my patented test by ordering a cheese pizza and a meatball & cheese sub. Let's face it if a pizza/sub place can't pull them off they aren't any good. Well, this place is great. The crust is on the thinner side with a little chew like a NY pizza and the sauce is tasty. As for the sub, good bread, great slightly chunky marinara, perfect amount of cheese and, tender flavorful meatballs. The people were nice and delivery was fast. Sorry I didn't take pics. This last time was Sunday dinner and delivery was not so fast but, we'll let that slide considering it was the Sunday before new years and the Skins & Cowboys were playing in the Sunday night game for the last playoff spot. That's like the Super Bowl around here and they were really busy. The delivery guy was apologetic. This order consisted of a Deluxe (Supreme) pizza, a Hawaiian pizza with extra green pepper, a Sliced Turkey Breast sub and, fries. Everything was great the pizzas were loaded and the order of fries was big. This time I got pics. Although the food is 5 star I am deducting a little because the person taking the order didn't seem to understand English very well and it took like 5 min for him to get the credit card number right. I kind of want to give it 5 stars for the fact that it is 10x better then every other pizza place within 10 miles. The quality is good, the dough is nice and fluffy, it's perfectly cooked. The pizza crust tasted like it had been Pre-made and frozen. The sauce was something out of a can and the cheese was just blah! It needed more garlic and some fresh herbs but I may have been asking for to much from a local pizza spot. Great service, I had a cheese steak and fries. The sub roll was excellent and it had a normal amount of meat and toppings. Many places skimp on meat and while this was not overloaded it was enough to be satisfying. Knocked it down a star because when I needed to use the restroom they said try sears. Why have an eat in option if you don't have a bathroom? I ate uncomfortably my entire meal rather than walk over to a department store find their bathroom and let my food get cold. read more

This place is super quick I ordered a sub and small pizza and it was done in no more than 15 minutes which is very good timing considering it's a local spot! The food was very delicious and well prepared. The cashiers were so attentive, and made sure that I had everything I needed for my order. Best part is that they have a tipping jar, so I could give them what they deserve. I recommend this small carry out for people that want quick and tasty food. I was hoping for it to be one of those delicious places not many people know about. Its a small little store. Sort of like the old dominos pizza stores back in the 90s. The service was ok. The young woman seemed nice. Menu was a little confusing but nothing bad. One thing I would like to see next time; when they are giving out deals, you should have the ability to substitute out drinks. Maybe this is an american thing, but trying to switch out a soda that came with the pizza for some simple water was a hassle. Basically for a 2 liter soda we received (2) 20 oz waters. -__- Sooooo Funnnnnn right? The Pizza was good. Well wait.... we order a half sausage half pepperoni pizza. Some pizza places sausage is suspect so I got the other side pepperoni because you CAN'T mess that up right? So the sausage part of the pizza was ok. The pepperoni side was great! I was craving pizza or a Steak and cheese. They happened to have both. Since I'm new to the area, I figured let's give it a shot. I was very pleased with my pizza. Also, they do sell by the slice if you're just one or two people If your party is bigger than 5, don't plan to sit down and eat at this place. They have only about four small tables and seven seats. The pepperoni was good, so I'm assuming the other toppings are good, and they have the standard toppings that most pizza places have, but they may not have that special topping you want. So if you're in White Oak Shopping Center and you and your party of five or fewer are really in the mood for pizza with standard toppings, thumbs up, go here. read more

This is a small store but I love it, the pizza is great and for what seems to be half the price of Domino's. They have a wide variety of food on their menu and I can assure you it's all great! The people there are very nice and so are the delivery men/women. The best part of it is that it's not too artificial or industrial like Domino's, or pizza hut. Love love love it. read more

UPDATE: We've ordered from Pizza Castle several more times. Pizza continues to be great! But be prepared for the ordering process to be VERY difficult ... several of the folks who take orders on the phone have a very difficult time with English, I think. So giving them the address and the order clearly can be laborious, and can take multiple calls. If they just had online ordering, they'd be Pizza Heaven. read more
