I love that this is a place run by a family and not a chain. I ordered 2 pizzas one cheese and one eggplant. When I asked for caramelized onions, I was told that they didn't have any but could cook some on the grill. I appreciate the honesty! When I arrived, the pizza was hot and ready. The price was better than most places and I left happy. The crust was tender but a little thicker than I like. Both pizzas were very good but not great. Good pizza and salad with nice kids at the counter. I had a small cheese pizza that was topped with plenty of cheese. The garden salad was fresh and tasty. Stopped here late in the evening when not much else was open. I am very glad I gave this place a try. I would have eaten here again but my visit to Milford was a quick one. read more

In the few short months I've been working (and consequently, eating) in Milford, there has been one thing about Pizza Chef that has been blatantly true - Consistency. Pizza Chef's pizza: Always good. They're subs: Always good quality (albeit a bit on the smaller side in correlation of the price you pay). All in all, I've had basically the same experience each time I've visited Pizza Chef - and that experience is good. Some takeaways: - Their slices are BIG. Paying $2.50 for a slice may seem a bit steep at first, but once you see the size of the slices, you'll understand why. They tend to be a bit on the greasy side, but the flavor is definitely profound... and good - The staff has always been friendly to me. Even when catching them on busy moments or lunch rushes, they're always ready to take my order, and I haven't witnessed any issues with employees/customers while being in here - They'll let you know if there is going to be a wait before you pay (If slices are cooking, they'll warn that it might be 5 min or so). This is clutch, since people coming on their lunch break only have so much time to grab food and take off. They definitely appreciate their customer's time. Overall - A positive experience. I guess the only criticism (or maybe it's just an observation) I have is this - I am for the most part a sub type of guy, but I tend to not order subs often from here, as they are somewhat overpriced and not too full of ingredients. One of the best small businesses in Milford. My family stands by our love for their superior cheese and pepperoni pizzas! Also their grilled chicken caesar salads are to die for, and I know, salads are usually boring and are definitely never described as "to die for", but they seriously are! I ordered the House Special pizza and buffalo wings; the pizza was cooked well and had ample toppings, and the wings were crispy and completely covered with sauce. I never do this but I had the worst experience of my life. I ordered from pizza chef. Recieved my order about 1 hour 10 min later 1st off got the wrong appetizer and 2nd the calzones were cold. But to top it all off the owner failed to do anything about it. We called we told him we got the wrong app and everything was cold he said if you dont like it to go someplace else. Was strolling through town around dinner time and wanted to grab a quick bite, ordered a small Italian sub and when I opened it the meat inside was gray and off color, when the nice cashier asked if I wanted my money back or something else on the menu, I began to ask for something on the menu when a gentleman from the back (I assume the owner because of how the information was reported to him) said something ( I assume just give him the money back, I don't want his service) she promptly just gave me the money back.
