    BBQ Pizza

Pizza Chef in Myrtle Beach has become our go-to tradition for first-night dinner on our family trips, and it's a great choice for Brooklyn-style pizza outside of NYC! Right around the corner from our condo, it's super convenient for carry-out, which we always do to enjoy back at our place. The pizza is delicious, with that classic thin, crispy crust and bold flavors, though it's a bit overpriced, like most spots in the area. The indoor seating is limited, and it feels unusually warm and humid inside, so they must not use the AC much. There are some nice outdoor seating options shared with nearby businesses. Despite these minor drawbacks, the tasty pizza and prime location keep this tradition alive, and we'll definitely be back!

The marinara is the best I've ever had. Made in house and so flavorful. The pizza was amazing as well. A thin airy crust and the toppings ands flavor were spot on. Great service!

They were able to customize pizza for me and I know I have weird taste. I was pleasantly surprised how it came out, great quality of food! Now it's my #1 place to go for pizza on Grand Strand.

Definitely not a good place to go eat with a group larger than 4. There are a handful of booths inside and some tables outside, but a group of 5 or more probably won't be able to sit together at the same table. Inside was very hot and seemed to have no good air conditioning, so we opted to sit outside where we decided it was cooler - and given that it was a humid, 84 degree day in the middle of July, that should tell you how uncomfortable the temperature was inside the restaurant that we chose to sit outside. The pizza was below average compared to my expectations and other pizzas I've had in the past. The crust was very thin and the cheese was rubbery. Overall a very chewy pizza, lacking flavor.

Found a hair in our buffalo chicken pizza. Pretty mediocre and not worth the price. Staff was pretty unfriendly too. Not coming back.

Meh. Thin and nothing special. Very expensive. 2 smalls and cost us $33. Could've saved lots $$ and got a frozen digornio pizza.

Great pizza but long wait sometimes. The food is also expensive, but so is everything else at the beach.

Honestly, the matcha wasn't my favorite part of the experience. I personally prefer a stronger, more intense matcha flavor, and this one was a little lighter than what I usually like. That being said, pretty much everything else was fantastic. The service was amazing from the moment we walked in. The place is beautiful, and even the music stood out to me. It just had a really good vibe overall. I also loved how extensive the menu is. I went for breakfast, but what caught my attention is that you can order pretty much anything at any time. It's not one of those places where you're limited to breakfast items in the morning. I ordered the Tropical Bowl, and wow. It was honestly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The coconut lime rice was packed with flavor, the shrimp were cooked perfectly, and there was a sauce on top that tied everything together. The avocado was perfectly ripe, the seasoning was spot on, and the pickled onions and pineapple pico de gallo added so much freshness to the dish. Every bite just worked. I also learned that the owner attended culinary school in Cape Town, South Africa, and spent years cooking while traveling around the world. It was interesting to see how some of those global influences show up on the menu. Even the name "Lekker" comes from a South African word that's often used to describe something delicious or enjoyable, which felt pretty fitting after that meal. They also have pastries, specialty coffee drinks, brunch options, lunch items, and even cocktails. The menu is huge, and there's honestly something for everyone. I also tried a lavender latte with almond milk, and it was excellent. Between the food, the coffee, the atmosphere, and the service, this ended up being one of my favorite stops during my time in Myrtle Beach. If you're visiting Myrtle Beach, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

First thing I noticed was the giant evil eye pendant hanging on the wall facing the customers. Message received: behave yourselves and be kind... the café is watching. Honestly, I respect the energy. You order at the counter, which keeps things simple and relaxed. My husband ordered the ahi tuna poke bowl, and I went with the Green Goddess salad with tofu. My salad was excellent. It had kale, carrots, onions, chickpeas, tofu, and avocado, and everything tasted fresh and well balanced. The tofu was actually flavorful (which tofu lovers know is not always guaranteed in the wild). It felt healthy but still satisfying. Chris really liked his poke bowl too and cleaned the whole thing up, which is always a good sign. The café itself is super cute and cozy, the kind of place you can imagine popping into regularly for lunch or a quick healthy meal. After a slightly disappointing dinner elsewhere the night before, this place felt like the universe saying, "Here, have some redemption food." We'll definitely be back. And we'll be extra nice... because that evil eye is clearly keeping watch.

Our must-order starters are the fried Brussels sprouts and the pimento cheese and chip dip. Wish there was more consistency in the tortilla chips as the restaurant made ones with honey dusting are superior to their store bought version. For mains, the smothered chicken is the standout. We much prefer it over the bone-in fried chicken--the pieces are juicier and more flavorful compared to the fried large bone-in chicken breast, which can be a bit less exciting. Go for the hot honey bird if you want a kick. The biscuits are a bit dry and A-OK - the butter and jam makes it taste better. If you're in the mood for something sweet with cinnamon and fall/winter spices, then sweet potato pancakes is a good option. The best value is coming during happy hour, though the offerings change periodically, so it's worth checking what's available. The restaurant is located right in the heart of Market Common, with free street parking and nearby lots, making it an easy and enjoyable stop overall.
