My dad and I were in boulder and we needed to find a quick lunch spot. Luckily pizza colore was just around the corner and I went walking to pick up our whole pizza. We ended up getting a half and half. One side had pepperoni, chicken and sausage. While the other had pepperoni, green peppers and mushrooms. Onto the food! The pizza crust itself was worth the buy. Crispy and flavorful at every bite. Now, what made this perfect was the toppings. Everything felt fresh and juicy the farther I went into it. I mowed through my half and then robbed a bite off my fathers. Same thing just different toppings! Cheese was nice and stringy as well. DISCLAIMER: The pizza is really greasy. This wasn't bad for me, but I can see why others might not like it. Fair warning. Overall, Pizza Colore served as an amazing find and go to spot for lunch if we're in boulder again. What can I say? I love this place! Whether its 2PM or 2AM this place always has good pizza. I can never decide what I want so I usually end up getting: a slice of cheese, a slice of white, and a slice of pesto. The whole colore rainbow. The cheese slice is perfection in itself. The white slice has no marinara and probably has a mixture of olive oil and garlic. It's delish to say the least. I am a big fan of the pesto and this slice gets me every time! The white and pesto slices are definitely a little greasier than the cheese but that's okay! Sometimes I go fancy and get tomatoes and balsamic on the pesto slice! I am not of an of their spicy ranch however, would not recommend. It is much to vinegar tasting for my likes. Service is always good, the people are always nice and it's a great place to get a slice! Pleasantly surprised to find this hole in the wall pizzeria among all the $$$ restaurants. You can only order some pizzas by the whole later in the day, but they had pepperoni, pesto, pesto sausage, and mean hawaiian. Not sure what price standards for pizza are in CO but was pleasantly surprised at the pricepoint. The guys behind the counter are genial. Since I had been informed recently on a Boulder Yelp Talk thread that today would be National Pizza Day, I had my fave pizza last night with my husband at our usual spot elsewhere in town as he would be out of town today. But as long as I was on Pearl today, I stopped in to Colore to try out their cannoli. I'll admit, it is hard to impress me in Boulder with cannoli. I've had them in Boston's North End and in Providence, I've had them on Long Island and in Connecticut and I made them for years myself when entertaining here in Boulder. My preference is the Sicilian holiday style, fluffy and light with ricotta cheese in the filling, flavored with a little dash of orange zest, a hint of cinnamon and some tiny chocolate chips or shavings. But overall, a lighter concoction than is usually seen around here in restaurants. I ordered my shells from back east when the only store around here gave up selling them. But gave up the whole effort when the last time I tried I got nothing but a large box of crumbs. The cannoli today gets points for being filled when ordered so it was not soggy. The shell was authentic. The filling was a purchased restaurant-supply prepared heavy and too-sweet-for-me option but I do think many will like it. The gentleman serving it admitted that it was not homemade. But for a town with few cannoli options, it was OK. The shop was just as it always has been, narrow and dark with a line for slices, pre-packaged salads and sodas to go. A Boulder tradition for students and visitors alike, back to the 90s. The pizza was good but I got food poisoning from their pizza. After 2 hours of eating their pizza I had bloody diarrhea, vomiting, fever, chills that have lasted over 24 hours, they leave pizzas out too long. The girl that added toppings to my pizza didn't even wash her hands. They said the oven heat kills germs but it definitely doesn't! This has been such a nightmare that I never will eat pizza from there or anywhere. They gave me a refund but that could never compensate me for the pain I have experienced due to them not handling food correctly. read more

I've enjoyed more late night slices at this pizza joint than I should admit. So many in fact that I went in last night to redeem multiple punch cards (this cool rainy weather really has me craving some warm and indulgent fare). Yes folks even during their busiest times of day the staff are always happy to either punch your existing punch card or start a new one for you (buy ten slices get the 11th for a penny). My favorite slice has to be the pesto either on its on or topped with pepperoni. The napkins are kept behind the counter so if you like to dab any oil/grease from the top of your slice be sure to request extra napkins when paying. There are always several pies to choose from - from thin crust to deep dish. You can always add that favorite topping for a bit more but somehow I seem to wait until I'm absolutely ravenous to get in for my pie. Last night was a calm one and I am happy to have taken the time to actually check out their dessert offerings as well as to relax and eat my pizza on their patio. Cannoli's aren't really my thing so I didn't find them enticing though they do offer both plain and chocolate covered. I decided to go for the carrot cake as it looked absolutely fabulous. Thick white frosting and whole walnuts to boot. We found out from speaking to the staff that the carrot cake is fresh made in store by their chef Julio and boy can you tell it was made with care. I am huge on desserts and all things sweet and I am so excited to share this stellar find. The cake was delightfully dense and the carrot slivers were large enough to see but not distractingly large or noticeable to chew. If you aren't in mood for a slice I most definitely recommend snagging their carrot cake! It is extremely delicious and I will be returning sooner than later for another piece. read more

I do not like going to Pearl Street - too crowded. But When I took a group of students from Japan there, we had a pizza here. I could introduce the real NY pizza! Not like thick crusted chain store ones. It was so nice to be able to get a slice, and the staff was very nice to accommodate the group. Could use better customer service the last two times that I've entered and they asked me what would I like? I answer one second because I would have to look at the menu and so they get annoyed. Pizza Colore is a fantastic little pizza shop nestled away on Boulder's famous Pearl Street. The pizza shop itself is unnoticeable unless you're specifically looking for it. Upon entering you are presented with an assortment of pizzas ranging from vegetable, cheese, pepperoni and many other flavors. My wife and I recently visited here and we ordered a vegetable and a cheese slice. The pizza itself was delicious and the crust was cooked to perfection. The seating area towards the back of the restaurant is nice if you don't want to sit outside the front. It's funny because my most favorite item here is their fresh chocolate chip cookies, they are crispy on the base, and super chocolatey in the middle (a tiny bit raw - which I absolutely love).
