I normally get slices at the store and they are always excellent. Today I ordered a pizza for Home while I watch the masters tournament. They're about 10 minutes away and I came in fairly hot. I had it with my friend and my wife and the pizza was fantastic. The nose did not fall down, the crush was just thick enough and crispy. I'm a combination ratio of sauce to cheese was perfect. This is our go-to pizza place close to home and I love their thin crust cheese pizza. It reminds me of Sal's pizza back home in New England. This is a take out place... some of our family went there and ate in the dining room area in the past and they got the vibe that they shouldn't be there. Worst service ever! This place is super close to me and makes an ok pie but I won't be returning due to the lack of customer service. The guy who answers the phone is perpetually rude. It's as if you're bothering him when you call to place an order. He rushes you off the phone so quickly you can barely get a word in. One time my order was taking exceptionally long (1.5 hours) so I called to see what was happening and they had LOST THE TICKET. It then took another hour to get the pizza. no apology, no discount or comp offered, Nada. It was like oh well, not my problem. On another occasion I was told it would be an hour... had to call after it had been an hour and twenty minutes. They claimed to be waiting on the driver (I bet the lost the ticket again) and it took an additional 40 minutes! 2-3 hours to get an okay pizza from some rude ass guy? I don't think so. I gave Pizza de Roma 4 stars because of the few occasions our meals were meh, BUT those occasions were very few and far between. I've tried tons of other pizza places but always come back to Pizza de Roma. The pizzas are awesome, as are the pastas and other traditional Italian foods. They rarely disappoint. read more

It's been 7 years. I decided it's worth another try. I'm glad I did. I got a slice and soda...$3! It was very good and quick. A bit greasy, but good crust. The place needs a facelift but then they'd have to charge more. I also wish the staff wore masks and gloves. At least the cook didn't handle my cash! I've driven by Pizza de Roma thousands of times, but never gave it a second thought until a friend recently mentioned this pizzeria on facebook. My girlfriend and I went the night of February 26th. We walked in and immediately noticed the distinctive aroma of pizzas baking in the oven. It's the culmination of years and thousands of pizzas being made. We were allowed to eat in their dining room which is hit or miss at many restaurants due to Covid. We decided to start off with an appetizer of fried mushrooms. Our entrees were a large vegetarian pizza and their Roma Calzone. We sat at our table and waited. I heard a constant stream of phone orders coming in one after the other as well as a lot of walk in traffic. An elderly boisterous woman with a thick New York accent walked in and said "I don't know if you know this, but your pizza tastes just like the Pizza in New York". I'm sure the pizzaiolos behind the counter were well aware of their pizza making skills. What better compliment can you receive aside from hearing your pizza tastes like it came straight from Napoli? Another guy walked in eager to pick up his pizza. I overheard him saying he had been out of the area for a long period of time. It sounded like his first stop was Pizza de Roma. He also made it a point to mention it was the best. This was the sentiment we heard from countless customers while we waited for our order. The mushrooms came out. I was expecting the same mushrooms that can be ordered at any bar, but these were different. They had a very thin yet crunchy batter and came out piping hot; I mention this because my girlfriend hates anything that is not super hot so this made her happy. The side of marinara sauce was perfectly seasoned and had some texture to it. I could see and taste the fresh ingredients in the sauce. It wasn't the usual bland watery sauce commonly served at most places. The pizza came out next. The dough was thin and crispy on the edges and bottom. The cheese and veggies were generously distributed. The crust wasn't just there to hold the cheese and toppings. The crust had flavor and was a star on its own. One of my pet pieves is people who do not eat the ends of the crust. Why? It's because the pizza crust they are eating lacks flavor! Not this pizza however. I found myself eating the entire slice, edge and all! The crust tasted wonderful. The pizza sauce was great too. I could taste a hint of oregano, onions, and garlic. They were all there. I forgot to comment on the mozzarella. The cheese was stretchy, elastic, and flavorful. It tasted like they used a high quality mozzarella and not the stuff that resembles plastic served at the chains looking to cut corners. The finale was the roma Calzone. I was told this particular item is stuffed with everything. I was only expecting the usual ricotta since it was a calzone, but this behemoth was ouzing with mozzarella, ricotta, various meats, and literally looked like a work of art. The exterior crust was very thin, crunchy, and managed to hold all of it's contents. I have no idea what magic was performed to make this all come together. This was one of the best calzones I've had in my life. Another touch that made us happy was the fennel seed in the Italian sausage. I'm so tired of pizzerias not using Italian sausage with fennel. This had it. This calzone was more of a mix between stromboli and calzone and had the slices on the top resembling a volcano; Stromboli is a volcano off the coast of Calabria where my family is from. In summary Pizza de Roma served us an outstanding appetizer, pizza, and calzone. This is coming from a foodie with a lot of vowels in his name. I place a lot of pressure on myself when cooking and I have even higher expectations for restaurants. Pizza de Roma pays attention to details. They start with high quality ingredients. They don't skimp on even the smallest details. They even pulled all of this off while being insanely busy which is not an easy task if you've worked in a kitchen before. I'm looking forward to becoming a regular and trying other items on the menu. I encourage you to give them a try as well. My only disappointed is that I didn't give this pizzeria a try sooner. read more

Smaller place I found on yelp tonight. I was in the mood for some good pizza and I Yelped it. Some of the reviews didn't seem fair so I gave the place a chance. I called it in and I walked in 15min later as I was told and it was just coming out of the oven as I walked in. I'd like to say I'd visit with the family and sit down; but I think I walked in when all the delivery guys where there, about 9pm. Best part of all... My large pepperoni was DELICIOUS!!! I would definitely be ordering again. The sauce was excellent and the dough had a great taste. The gentleman that took care of me was very polite and did the right thing. It was my first time trying this place and did so accompanied and under the suggestion of my friend who lives nearby their pizzeria. For $5 I was able to enjoy a decent slice of pepperoni pizza topped with onions and bell peppers and a Snapple! Perhaps could have done without as much toppings on one slice (but that is not a major issue). My friend ordered a medium cheese pizza and it was delicious (enjoyed that a wee bit more than mine actually). You know the pizza is good when you can't wait to have another slice when you get home, which I did ;) A bit out of the way from my house so I will keep you posted with any updates! read more

Pizza is OK, but you must eat it when fresh and hot, or the crust quickly turns to stiff rubber. I've never been to Rome, but assume this is typical style for the area, or cut a star off. We've ordered from pizza de roma at least five times now. One time they completely forgot our order. Thankfully i called 1.5 hrs after ordering it. The pizza came about an hour after that. Recently we ordered again from them and after waiting an hour and twenty minutes i called them and he said they'd be right there with it. 40 minutes later our pizza arrived. (Mind you we live just a couple blocks away from the store so it stands to reason they forgot our pizza AGAIN and just tried to play it off.) Every single time we call, the person who answers, who i presume is the owner, is rude as all hell and clearly doesn't want to deal with it.
