Ordered pizza and bacon wrapped water chestnuts at 5:29 tonight. Told 45mins to1 hour. After an hour and 20 mins called and was told it was on the way. Our group and 17 people had a late lunch today. The staff was great at setting. This many people had two tables and took our drink order pretty darn quickly. The room with the tire ceilings make sure if you're comfortable and it's not too loud and a great environment to have a group of people. Each one of us had something different to eat, and no complaints from anyone while we had our second round of drinks. Great time for all of us. And I should add that I forgot my coat and came back several hours later and they had graciously put it in the back room so when I came in, they gave it to me properly. I've been a patron of Pizza Garden since the sixties. I've had their take out through the years. I also remember Westphal's hardware store, which closed years ago. The folks who own the Garden did a really nice job of renovating an old store into a very nice restaurant. Seating at the bar, along the windows, in a couple of booths, or in the back room. There is a television at every angle. But the star here is the pizza. The crust and sauce are very good, nice spice level. They are generous with their toppings which results in a very satisfying pizza. We had the artichoke dip as an appetizer. Along with a 12 inch pizza and we were happily full. Service was great, attentive but not obtrusive. Between salads, various appetizers and a myriad of veggie pizza combos a vegetarian can fare well here. Very trippy game room...tres outre! Good food and nice ambiance makes for a pleasant experience. Check it out. You'll be glad you did. read more

If you like thin crust pizza... this is your place! The Pizza Garden has been around Manitowoc in one shape or the other for a long time. (Since 1957). But this new location is BY FAR the nicest! Really impressed with the way they remade this old hardware store into an open space restaurant and nice barroom with street view seating. I'm also very impressed with the pizza. I am a thin crust fan and have always loved the Pizza Garden pies. If I had one improvement, I would suggest more toppings.... a little on the skippy side. But I would say that there is more than they have put on in the past. So it's an improvement! I would guess that with this new restaurant, great location and bar, that they will do very well in Downtown Manitowoc. Always loved the pizza, now I love the actual restaurant too! read more

Appreciate the attempt at legitimate cracker-style crust, which is way too hard to find these days, but overall it could be better. For the 12" and larger pizza, the pizzas cease to be crisp after a few inches in from the edge. That means you're dealing with a floppy slice experience once you get to the middle portions. This is even kind of true for the 10" pizzas. The Garden Special is pretty good. I would've preferred a bit more spice and less sweetness to the sauce, but I'd certainly have it again. (The question on whether I wanted canned or fresh mushrooms caught me off guard. I ordered fresh.) On the flip side, the Margherita pizza doesn't really work. The flavors were way too sweet, and overall it was a bad match for the crust. The build your own pizzas were fine, but again again could've had more spice. Expect veggies to be chopped pretty fine (which makes sense considering the type of crust). On the appetizer side, the cubed cheese curds felt like an affront to god, but were good when dipped in the cranberry sauce. In all, I wouldn't veto going here again, but I wouldn't seek it out. Worst pizza that I ever had. It was badly burnt and the sauce was so bland. I refuse to eat Dominos Pizza - but I would choose Dominos in a heartbeat over this horrible excuse for food. Service was also extremely poor. ​I should tipped off when we walked in and stood at the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign for quite some time before we spotted ANY employees. When our pizza was delivered to our booth, we picked at it for QUITE SOME TIME before we decided we were just going to leave. In order to locate an employee to get our bill, my husband literally had to open up the kitchen door and yell for someone. I'm not sure why I paid them AND tipped!?! My granddaughter and I visited Pizza Garden for the first time this past Friday evening. They were busy. My first impression was people were enjoying themselves because it was loud and full of laughter. That was a breath of fresh air! Once we were seated, it took about 10 minutes before our waitress arrived. She apologized and told me it was because she wasn't told we were sitting there. We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer. I had heard they were delicious. The cheese curds took a while to come out. My granddaughter raised her hand and wondered where they were, lol. The curds finally came. They were hot, but they lacked flavor. The dipping sauce was a tangy something or other, and it didn't pair well with the curds. For our main dish, we both had Walleye. The food was hot, and the fish was delicious. The potato medallions were seasoned well and tasted good. For dessert, we ordered to go. I had Tiramisu and felt shortchanged. The piece wasn't much of a serving. It tasted ok, but it's not something I would have again. My granddaughter had the chocolate cake. She said that was good. Would I return here? Probably not. I do have to say that our waitress was friendly. The price was more than the average for Manitowoc. This is a pizza joint, so maybe getting Pizza here would be ok. Not sure. read more

On the recommendation of people from a Manitowoc dedicated FB Page pizza garden was their favorite. I live in Sheboygan Falls and have friends in Green Bay. Manitowoc is our meet for lunch place. I'd been craving pizza for days. I'm also very picky about pizza. The thin crust, quality of ingredients & available toppings let you create exactly what you want!! This is now 1 of our go to places. In what has to be the worst pizza in town was only made worse by the terrible service. I read the glowing reviews and wonder if they were paid. Not a big fan of the super thin crust and nothing else was offered. Didn't help that it was mostly burnt. The ingredients are not fresh and the sauce was mediocre at best and did not taste freshly prepared at all. Terrible. Ordered simple pizza at 5:15. Pizza was delivered at 7:00 pm. Pizza was cold, tasted old and items missing. Called the resturant, rude people and kept asking me what do I expect to correct this. He continued to lecture me on how bad buisiness has been yet they are swamped with orders. This place is not cheap! I said fine half refund, at least his cost of materials would be coveted. He took my card info. They called back to say since I ordered online through their website I would have to contact a third party to get any refund. The Pizza Garden was not gling to help me. Never again. They did not give me a refund as it was an online order and they "could not access the receipt". They offered no compensation and did not offer to make it again. First time here and what a treat. Pizza was savory and outstanding. Calamari appetizer was the best in the area for sure. We even splurged on dessert and had turtle cheesecake and the red velvet cake. I needed a wheelbarrow to carry me out. The atmosphere was comfortable, clean, and crisp. I am a HUGE pizza snob when it comes to my tavern thin crust. I will put my favorite, Pat's Pizza Chicago up against anyone within 100 miles of Chicago. Well this weekend I am about 170 miles from there and I struck GOLD!!! I am talking the singe best thin crust pizza I have had in 26yrs of living in WI. If you get up north of Milwaukee to Manitowoc YOU HAVE TO TRY Pizza Garden!!! The service is great, the beer selection is incredible and the pizza...well let's just say it gave my beloved Pat's Pizza Chicago a run for it's money. Tried to order take out. Ordered food for children-2 cheese pizzas and an order of Mac and cheese. They gave us a kids cheese pizza and and a kids pizza with Mac and cheese-which isn't even on the menu. The Mac and cheese is so not for children-there must be an entire head of garlic in it and half a shaker of pepper. Definitely don't have corona, going to taste it for a week. Great pizza! Order everything at the bar, take your drinks and have a seat. They bring your food out to you. Last time we went here there was a big party going on in the backroom. Still our wait for our pizza was normal (about 15 - 20 minutes). If there are no tables in the bar room there is a lot of room in the dinning area. I ordered a pizza for delivery and it came burnt, all we could taste was burnt food. I called and was not treated very kind. On and on the manager went wanting to argue with me like it was my fault. When I asked the manager for her name she said she gave it to me when she took the call. I continued to ask for her name until she finally gave it to me. The manager sad that she tells people that the pizza is char. That wasn't char. The manager told me to throw the pizza out and a new one would be made and delivered she was combative and wouldn't stop so I just hung up. I dumped the pizza in the garbage can and called Slice, the app I had to order from. I told them I did not want a pizza from Pizza Garden and wanted my money refunded to my credit card. Slice offered me 50% off and since my family was hungry and the pizza was already being made I excepted. The delivery driver was rude and told me he wanted the old pizza back. I went out to the garage and scooped out the pizza and put it in the box. Yuck. Looking back I should have given that man the box and the garbage can and told him to go for it. I did not eat the pizza but my family said it was stone cold. I guess that was payback for not wanting to spend $30 on a burnt pizza. There are enough quality pizza places in town and they are curtious and respectful. No one needs to be treated badly for spending their money at business. read more

I am very disappointed in the service. Wound up having to pick up the pizza because they were so far behind. Came to pick up the pizza and there was a women in front of me waiting. So we both stood there for over five minutes and finally the host came back to wait on the woman in front of me. They had messed up her order (burnt the garlic bread) so she wanted a refund for it. The host went to the back to refund it but when she brought it back she had not done it correctly. So she had to go back yet again. In the meantime, someone is now behind me in line. The host was gone for quite a while, I have now been there for over 15 minutes and all the while not one of the other staff members has come up to ask if we have been helped. There were two bartenders, multiple waitstaff and others all milling around and completely ignoring us. The host finally comes back and then it is my turn. Tell her my name and she goes to get my pizza. She leaves to ring it up and is gone for another five minutes. I have now been standing in line for a damn pizza which I pre ordered for over 20 minutes. My pizza is now cold so I have to warm it up when I get home. The pizza was fine but not outstanding. Totally not worth it and super crappy service. Don't think I will be going back. read more
