I was invited to order a free pizza today in connection with a Yelp Elite event. Previously, I had tried Pizza Guys only when it was served at a birthday party, and had never ordered one myself. I looked at the menu online and saw that you could order 1/2 and 1/2 specialty pizzas. I never know with specialty pizzas if it'll be a combination I like, so this option to try two on the same pizza worked for me. I ordered 1/2 Artichoke Fiesta and 1/2 Chicken Spinach Garlic, and also a Mediterranean salad. I arrived to the store 20 minutes after placing my order, located in a little strip mall on L Street. There's only a few tables inside, so I think they mostly deal with take out and delivery. The staff greeted me right away and said they had been busy with the Elite event, but my pizza was in the oven. I noticed that despite being busy, all the staff seemed very efficient, and were all super friendly to customers, and had good communication with each other. Roxanne, who I noticed took phone orders, in person orders and even helped make the pizzas when needed maintained a cheerful attitude even though she clearly had a lot on her plate. When my pizza was ready, she asked me if I needed plates, cutlery, napkins, cheese or peppers - I like this non-wasteful approach to take out instead of just stuffing the bag full of paper products that many customers don't need and will just throw in the trash. She also gave me a coupon for a free pizza in the future, since the pizza was not ready in the time promised. Oh, and I almost forgot about the star of the show....the pizza! We tried 1/2 Artichoke Fiesta (vegetarian) and 1/2 Chicken Garlic Spinach on the Tuscany crust...we liked them both! The Mediterranean salad we ordered was fresh and tasty as well, lots of feta cheese, tomato, red onion and kalamata olives with the balsamic dressing on the side. First two times trying Pizza Guys within a week of each other. I think it's going to be my go-to pizza chain. The classic pepperoni was great, and the MVP was a solid specialty with pepperoni, sausage, and olives. There's a small parking lot in front of the store for carryout, and they also deliver. We ordered delivery for their impossible "beef" bbq pizza with thick crust and a large cheesy jalapeño bread, which were both delicious. The red onion on the pizza was a great topping but like the impossible crumbles & jalapeño pieces, I wish they were not so frugal with the toppings. The pizza and breadsticks totaled to be about $40 (including delivery + tip) so it's pricier than I'd like. The food arrived right on time while still being warm so that's a plus. read more

I think I found my new favorite pizza in Davis! I ordered a combo pizza and it was excellent. There was a lot of meat and the sausage was incredible. Everything was very fresh. The crust was perfect. It was chewy enough and crisp just the right places. I don't think you can find a place with a friendlier staff. From the person who took my order to the one who gave me my pizza... everyone was so friendly and helpful. My pizza was ready exactly when they said it would be. It's a small place and probably doesn't get that much sit down business because of its size. The store was clean even though they were very busy. Highly recommend! read more

Pizza is pretty good,tasty and good choices. However we also got a few calzones and they were not what I've had in the past from Pizza Guys. There was no sauce, no cheese and maybe 4-5 pepperonis and 3-4 slices of salami. Luckily I just made some spaghetti sauce the other day, used it to dunk the calzone crust, which was good. Will try calzones again, maybe it was an extra busy night. read more

The food is great. Fav pizza in town tbh. My biggest issue is their lack of staff. I've had times when I call two hours before close and I'm told delivery isn't an option because they're backlogged with orders and they don't have enough drivers. Tonight I was placed on hold for 25 minutes. The guy on the phone started taking my order before there was a loud 'no' in the background. Clearly the manager yelling at the poor dude, before he tells me that he actually can't take any deliveries. Being on hold that long, I could've guessed that they couldn't deliver. But would it kill y'all to give that notice before putting someone on hold? Saves time for me, saves time for your staff. Also I'd stake my life on them being short staffed because the managers don't talk to their staff respectfully. Take a class or something dude. It won't kill you to be nice. read more

Hi, I ordered a pizza on June 29th basic easy instructions and they failed me not once but twice . The first time they hardly put sauce on my pizza and left some slices dry then the manager called me and gave me a free large pizza and when I tell you they really screwed up this time they forgot to put the sauce on my pizza and asked did I want it drizzled on I reluctantly said yes because I wasn't going to wait another 20 minutes for them to remake my pizza so not only was my pizza drier then the Sahara desert it was made tacky the barbecue was scribbled on like a toddler. I once again complained and I can't express this enough how the quality of my food matters especially since I'm paying for it. I'm unsure if I'll return but I'm better off spending this much money else where for good quality food. **Updated: I would like to say that my pizza has been made just as I'd like although no wonder they say the third time is the charm. Horrible service! Absolutely shocked from the rude, aggressive, and miserable service we received. Not a hello, not a thank you, nothing more than "anything else". My son was craving pizza so we went in for a quick lunch with the kids. The lady at the counter didn't say a word, didn't even look up at us. I asked what kind of cheese options they had and while looking away she mumbled "there's signs in front of each item". We got a half and half pizza and before checking out my kid wanted to add olives. This girl literally grabbed the olives with so much attitude and just tossed them on the pizza as if I asked her to do something sooooo complicated. No plates, no forks, no napkins, nothing! Didn't even asked if we needed these items after we told her we would be eating there. Pizza was pretty cold and not really tasty. Honestly, it didn't even matter. After service like that we just wanted to get out of this place. I think whoever runs this place needs to hire more pleasant, friendly people that actual want to be there and enjoy their job. Personally I love the taste of pizza guys. It's the closest of any chain to the taste of Costco pizza, which I love. I ordered a combo 12" and managed to devour the entire thing! The crust has a slight crunch and a slight tug to it. The sausage and pepperoni were a bit too salty but had a great flavor, and they don't skimp out on the toppings. Came here for the FREE pizza at Pizza Guys. I ordered a large cup and crisp pepperoni duo and it looks delicious. The restaurant is small, only big enough for pickup or delivery, not a place to hang out and eat pizza nevertheless the pizza smells amazing! Never have tried these guys out before considering that I've lived in Davis for five years so this was an awesome way to check them out. Our timeslot was between 3 and 5 PM and we placed our order about 3:45pm. When I called him to place my order a nice gentleman named Robert took my order, I placed an order for a large pizza with Canadian bacon, pineapple, mushrooms on a Tuscan thin crust with light cheese. He went over again my pizza to make sure it was correct and told me that my order will be ready in 10 to 15 minutes and I didn't live too far and it's easy to get to. We showed up not long afterwards and we were greeted by Robert. We saw the huge drink fridge and grab for drinks to purchase and this awesome sweet girl came from behind the counter and offered us plates napkins and utensils. She put it in a black reusable bag and in that bag there were also coupons and a free appetizer for a future purchase. I love it they can split a pizza down by the half-and-half two different flavours completely they have a lot of different variety of sauces to choose from. And pizza is not your thing there's also sandwiches, salads, pasta's and other appetizers to choose from. We Will definitely have to come back and try the rest of the menu. read more

My fiance's favorite is the double cup pepperoni so we've had that a fair few times and we definitely love it. We got pizza this past weekend. Got a deal 2 medium pizzas 2 toppings each. 1. Pepperoni & mushrooms, 2. sausage & mushrooms both with extra sauce & cheese. The crust was soft & chewy we usually have "pizza bones" for our dogs, not this time, both pizzas were excellent! My husband really loved this pizza, commented several times how good it was which is very unusual for him. Once we ordered a two topping medium pizza for $10.99 and ended up leaving with the pizza, a 2 liters of soda, and 2 ice creams ( strawberry ice cream & dibs!). Our favorite so far is the crunchy club pizza- bacon and ham with green onions scatter on top. YUM!!!
