Review Edit: 9/3/26 6pm-ish After my previous review, the owner or one of the managers by the name of Deepak (I apologize if I got your name wrong! Flu has my ears all stuffy and it was hard to hear) personally reached out to me about what happened earlier in the day. He explained that they're currently overhauling all of their systems, which caused a lot of the problems I encountered earlier in the day with my order. We spoke, and he seemed genuinely disappointed at what occurred, and took personal accountability. This is something I respect immensely. It would have been easy to have shrugged off the review and been like "whatever, it's just one person", but he didn't and called wanting to make things right. He ended up personally delivering a pizza of my choice as a means of saying sorry. The pizza, a medium stuffed crust with mushrooms and bacon was pretty dang good. Anyways, all of this to say, is that I appreciated the willingness and accountability to own up to the mistakes, taking the time to speak with me to explain, and to personally deliver a pizza. Not a lot of owners/managers would do something like that. Thanks. Old review 9/3/26 12:45pm-ish: Absolute nightmare trying to order from them. After having multiple incorrect orders ordering from them on DoorDash (that could not be refunded because DoorDash are grifters), I decided to order from their website directly. This turned out to be a mistake. Firstly the 25% off code that initially said it was being applied, got removed at checkout. I tried calling to clear things up, the woman who I spoke to was extremely confused, and told me that they would cancel the online order and she would reprocess it over the phone with the discount. However she kept trying to charge be $96 instead of the original non-discount price of $29, finally gave up and said to continue with the original order - she said they would add something to make up for the discount not being applied. Spoiler, they did not. In fact the order took an almost hour and a half to receive! Normally I'm not one to have issues with language barriers, but in this case I feel like the barrier was more like a giant freaking wall. I couldn't get anywhere, I asked for a manager, and was told he was not there, asked for anyone else who might could help and she kept saying "it's fine it's fine no everything good" before I was hung up on. One important thing to note is that prices are all over the place. For example, the Bacon Bread is listed as 11.98, however when she was trying to reprocess it manually, she said it was 10.98 when i was asking about the price of everything due to the whole $96 shock. DoorDash additionally is up charged, but that's unfortunately the default. So the only way to really save money is to somehow get through the language barrier and order via phone. Whiiiich, honestly, good luck with that. Oh and my food arrived cold, soggy, and did not receive everything. So no different than DoorDash :/ EDIT: Actually, this was worse than DoorDash, because at least with them I don't get charged a 5.99 delivery fee. But I am really trying to not give DD another cent after they've essentially stolen from me. However, experiences like this make me miss the pre-doordash era. All in all, I'm just tired, am super sick and just wanted some comfort by means of cheese. But all I got was frustration and a business who couldn't even do the bare minimum and communicate what was going on. The 25% off code was a total scam because it was applied, said it was "in progress" in the cart with the correct subtotal, but as soon as I got to the final page and ordered, it was removed so it was a total bait and switch (which psst, that goes against at least one very specific California law). To be honest, I am seriously considering disputing the charge with my bank due to this, but I have to wait for the total amount to be finalized/processed which can take a few days. read more

I ordered a personal pizza online the first day they had the website up... It wouldn't take my payment and had me pay at the restaurant. There was some confusion at the front counter as the price was way too high for what I ordered. The guys who run the place couldn't have been nicer about everything! I did a build your own pizza with grilled chicken, red onions and pesto sauce. DELICIOUS! Everything was perfect! I will definitely be back! read more

We needed pizza delivery to the Jack London Square Marina for an impromptu kid party on New Years Day, and a friend recommended the Pizza Guys as their go to. Good call. The three pizzas arrived hot, on time, and were really good! A medium thickness crust that was flavorful, generously topped with plenty of cheese and other toppings. We had one pizza, one pepperoni, and one veggie. The veggie was loaded with a variety. We'll definitely order again when we need food at the dock. read more

We ordered a large half custom pizza. This was a pick up order that took about 45 minutes before it was ready, on a Monday afternoon. We were the only ones in the store when we arrived. I wanted the water as my free drink, as per the offer on the window. He said I could not have the water. I told him it says on their door either the soda or a small water. He said that the owner told him that they were not to give out the water for free. So that's false advertising. The pizza itself was fresh and very good. This is the Pizza Guys restaurant located in East Oakland, on Foothill Blvd. I actually have never tried "Pizza Guys" before. However, the virtual brand "Calzone Life" shares the same address, so I wanted to try the Pizza Guys brand. Guess what? They are not the same quality pizza. I ordered a medium "Cup & Crisp Pepperoni Duo." This is a pizza with two kinds of pepperoni. The crispy pepperoni makes the pizza have an unusual crispiness. Unfortunately, it also makes the pizza very salty. I sensed it was close to unhealthy levels of sodium. I've eaten pepperoni pizzas before, and they weren't super salty like this. BTW, the pizza doesn't look like the menu photo. You only get half the pepperoni. Also, this pizza is supposed to be loaded with a blend of cheeses. The menu says: "three cheese blend of Parmesan, Asiago, and Romano." Yes, when I opened the sealed box, I saw a beautiful blanket of cheese. But when you pull off a slice, there's no streams of molten cheese! Opps! That's a FAIL. Gotta have the molten gooey cheese. The crazy thing is, I didn't taste any blend of cheeses. Maybe they're overpowered by the salty pepperoni. BTW, DoorDash offered a 20% off-promo to try Pizza Guys. Delivery was direct with no delays. Ok, so I tried it, and I didn't like it. The other reviews that are more positive seem to of ordered combo pizzas. I'm guessing the combo pizzas have better balanced ingredients, and therefore taste better. Okay this review is in part being made in order to praise these people because they are always super polite and nice, and very responsive to special orders. Sometimes I admit that I have felt that perhaps the pizza I chose was not worth the money, but they are FAST and accurate and again, on the phone, very nice people. BUT MOSTLY I AM REVIEWING THE CHEEZEE PIZZA ROLLS. WITH BACON. Here is how they describe them: "CHEEZEE BACON ROLLS Rich and buttery rolls made with our signature white garlic sauce, mozzarella cheese, and applewood smoked bacon." THESE THINGS ARE SO GOOD!!! Is this health food? No. Is this gourmet? No. Is this very high is sodium!? Oh yes it is. But if I had only ordered just that, (I ordered more) IT WOULD BE SUCH A BARGAIN! AND DELICIOUS!! And super cheesey. And a small amount of the cheese leaks out of the bottom of the rolls and makes a cheesy little mini-crust under the roll. And there are big bits of bacon in there!! Can you tell that I really really enjoyed them? I did. A lot. Will order them again. Next time, I will remember that one order of Cheezee Bacon Rolls is enough for one very hungry person. read more

I read the other reviews and mainly they complain about the delivery service. No problem here. Came hot. But I didn't order it. I'm not into delivery, however I suspected my kid ordered it. We order from Pizza Guys ALL THE TIME. I figured out and we've spent $1440.00 in the last 9 months! I first ordered our food at 4:45 pm. They delivered around 6. My pizza was completely wrong. I called. They're going to remake the pizza she says. So it's 6:15 pm. An hour later: no pizza. I call again at 7:21, she promises the pizza just came out of the oven & they're gonna deliver it. At 8:15 pm I try to call. They don't answer the phone. It rings into a mailbox that's full. I ring through 3 times & still no answer. THAT'S IT!!
