    Halal pepperoni and pineapple pizza

My pizzas were hot and fresh when i arrived and the staff were really kind. Hit the spot for me and my kids!

Half & Half style. Half triple pepperoni half 5 cheese with HEAVY PINK sauce

What a GUY!! I travel the world & prefer brick oven pizzas, but that's not always an option, well I placed an over the phone order to ensure an understanding & did they NAIL it! I asked for triple pink sauce & triple cheese! The taste was a piping HOT DELECTABLE bite & just what I asked for! The staff has always been friendly & accommodating when ordering. It's always a surprise to find a chain restaurant with so much authenticity... My delivery driver was amazing & delivered directly to my hotel room! Do yourself a favor & give THIS Pizza Guys an order.

This is the Pizza Guys restaurant located in East Oakland, on Foothill Blvd. I actually have never tried "Pizza Guys" before. However, the virtual brand "Calzone Life" shares the same address, so I wanted to try the Pizza Guys brand. Guess what? They are not the same quality pizza. I ordered a medium "Cup & Crisp Pepperoni Duo." This is a pizza with two kinds of pepperoni. The crispy pepperoni makes the pizza have an unusual crispiness. Unfortunately, it also makes the pizza very salty. I sensed it was close to unhealthy levels of sodium. I've eaten pepperoni pizzas before, and they weren't super salty like this. BTW, the pizza doesn't look like the menu photo. You only get half the pepperoni. Also, this pizza is supposed to be loaded with a blend of cheeses. The menu says: "three cheese blend of Parmesan, Asiago, and Romano." Yes, when I opened the sealed box, I saw a beautiful blanket of cheese. But when you pull off a slice, there's no streams of molten cheese! Opps! That's a FAIL. Gotta have the molten gooey cheese. The crazy thing is, I didn't taste any blend of cheeses. Maybe they're overpowered by the salty pepperoni. BTW, DoorDash offered a 20% off-promo to try Pizza Guys. Delivery was direct with no delays. Ok, so I tried it, and I didn't like it. The other reviews that are more positive seem to of ordered combo pizzas. I'm guessing the combo pizzas have better balanced ingredients, and therefore taste better. I'll have to order one, and update my review. Support Local Business!

Service was friendly and relaxed, which matches the whole vibe of the place. It's more of a chill, sit and enjoy your meal kind of restaurant rather than something upscale or rushed. My favorite was the gnocchi - it was the perfect texture. It was a little salty but I didn't mind. Service/ambiance: 10/10. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Notes: The focaccia was harder than I expected. The seasoning was great but it's not your typical soft focaccia so heads up! Parking was easy and so was snagging a reservation. Their three-course prix fixe menu offers some tempting add-ons, and I couldn't help but notice how appetizing the focaccia and fried chicken looked. Starting off, I chose the white bean soup. Its almost smoky flavor gave it a delightful depth and complexity, making each spoonful both comforting and rich. The prosciutto and sun-dried tomato ragù gave a lovely contrast. For my main course, I went with the ricotta lasagna. A perfect balance of acidity that really brightened the flavors. The layers of cheese, tomato-braised beef, and pork melded together beautifully, easily one of the best lasagnas I've ever tasted. To wrap up my meal, I indulged in the tiramisu. This dessert was an absolute dream! Light and fluffy, it practically melted in my mouth, with perfectly balanced layers of espresso-soaked sponge cake and mascarpone cream. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. This meal was a perfect blend of flavors and comfort, and I highly recommend MAMA to anyone in the area!

So I ordered "Spaghetti with Meaty Marinara and 3 Piece Meatballs" for $15.99. What I received was spaghetti and meatballs, no meaty sauce. The flavor was bland and nothing to rave about. The 3 meatballs were tasty. The pasta was a little dry. Perhaps you should put a scoop of sauce on top of the pasta before you seal the container. Also, they use a foil container, not a microwavable one. The dish itself tastes average, nothing special. For $15.99, you should add extra sauce and add a free dinner roll. If you do a little research, you will find that "901 Marina Village" is the Straw Hat Pizza Restaurant. I don't know if this is a shared kitchen, a ghost kitchen, or just a menu option at Straw hat in Alameda. Would I order again? Nope, not worth $15.99, even with $5.00 off. 901 Marina Village is the Straw Hat Pizza in the Marina Village shopping center. Free parking. Near the Alameda Tube. When it did arrive, I received the completely wrong item. So I called the restaurant, and they seemed to realize before I even finished explaining, because clearly another customer had received my order. I confirmed the item I ordered and they said they'd re-deliver. I live 10-15 min from the restaurant. 35 min later the re-delivered item arrived.... still not correct. I ordered "Bruschetta Chicken Pasta" and there was no bruschetta. The food itself was also pretty mediocre for the price they're charging. My husband was unimpressed with the quality and scant portion of his meatball spaghetti. The portion of my re-delivered item was ok, but the earlier (wrong) item they delivered was a tiny portion, the container barely half full. GrubHub provided a full refund for my Bruschetta Chicken Pasta, at least. Also as others have noted: the restaurant address is actually the address for VJ's Sports Bar, formerly Straw Hat Pizza, so not sure what's going on there... Bottom line: avoid this place.
