It was one of those nights when I didn't want to lose my great parking space at the hotel so I ordered delivery. I decided on a cheesesteak that would deliver. Ended up getting one from here the full size steak. It ran $15 but was arguably small for that price based on other places I've had but then again this is California. The flavor was good. He liked the sammie, but I was not totally impressed. It seemed as though I wanted more to that sammie. We have not been able to find a great cheesesteak in this area; it sucks! We tried our best and compared the menus and photos from 3 different cheesesteak shops, and this one had the best reviews and photos. WHY?! The photos of cheesesteaks from here must be old af because the meat is overflowing out of the sandwiches. It's been many years since I've been to this Cheese Steak shop on Lakeshore in Oakland. They've remodeled and they now have their menu above the cashier area that's hard to read (prices are small too). I miss the menu that used to be on the wall because it was easier to stare at to figure out my options. And before, they used to offer you a 10" or a 12". When I asked how big a medium was, the cashier showed me with her hands and said it was around 6". Anyway... it was all new to me so I just asked for the standard size. I ordered the spinach/mushroom and my husband ordered the steak hoagie. We shared a small order of curly fries. Order came to a little over $30. Definitely as tasty as I remember (I forgot to say to go light on the hot peppers). My biggest issue was trying to figure out the menu options. Service was fine. Order came out quickly. Hay y'all I had to give my Covid update on o e of my favorite Friday night places to eat. I've been here a few times during Covid but I kept forgetting to leave my review. So it's still busy! Even during Covid. I miss being able to sit down and eat my sandwich there but they make sure your sandwich stays warm until you get to where you are going. As I said before Friday's and Saturday's are the days to go!!!! Al and the other guy (I don't know his name) are the best team they have. The flavor and the quality of the food has not lost it touch with them. I must be honest they did make a mistake on my sandwich this time around but after giving them a call to let them know what happened. They rectified the issue right away over the phone.
