We hosted an end-of-season party last night for our girls' soccer team at this Pizza Hut location. Jennifer, the store Manager, was AMAZING to work with! I spoke with her a few days before the event and she told me they could book the whole restaurant for our group of 80 (inside and outside). Jennifer helped me put the food order together and worked with her staff to have food come out hot and spaced out at a good pace. The staff was friendly and worked hard to keep things running smoothly all evening. The store is spacious, clean, has lots of TVs and a great draft beer selection. As an added bonus, Jennifer took it upon herself to decorate the store with some baloons and other soccer-themed items. We were totally surprised by this and it's clear that Jennifer takes great pride in her job. If you are hosting a team party or other pizza party event, you can't go wrong. Never ordering from this location again. I placed a carry out order which said 15 min time frame. I get to the restaurant and 30 mins later it wasn't ready. My name was on the board saying the carryout order was ready but the gentleman at the front said it wasn't ready. Later someone in charge came and asked me about my order. I was really excited to see Pizza Hut open in my neighborhood, but boy ... what a disappointment. If you read the previous reviews, you're only going to get more of what you already know. 1. They add a service charge to every transaction regardless of whether you order online, in person, telephone, or if you get your food curbside, delivery or pickup. The reason? Wait for it ..... "the rising costs in California". Seriously? It's like it caught them off guard. "Oh sh*t! I had no idea California was so expensive. How am I going to make money? I know! I'll charge a CA-only luxury tax, disguise it as a service fee and play victim to the high cost of doing business in CA. I am brilliant!" (insert eye roll here) 2. They claim to have curbside pickup, but they don't. There is no system in place to let them know you've arrived. There are only 4 spaces in front of the store and none of them indicate reserved for Pizza Hut curbside. They are always taken. There are 4 other restaurants nearby. It's unlikely you will get one of these spots when you arrive. They won't know where you are if you call them. It's a CF. Forget about indicating curbside on your order. It'll save you a good amount of frustration. You will end up having to go into the store to get your order. 3. Like the previous reviewers indicated, the toppings were very light. I ordered a large pizza with two toppings. I had one piece of each topping per slice. I understand it's COVID and all, but I just paid a CA luxury tax/service charge/pity fee. Doesn't that earn me at least 2 pieces of pepperoni per slice? The reason I gave two stars instead of one is because the food was hot and ready when promised. In addition to the pizza, I ordered lemon pepper dry rub wings. They were really good! Because this place is so close to my house, I will most likely return when I'm in a pinch. If the owner can get his operations in order and drop the CA surcharge, I think he would have more returning customers. Never again will we order from Pizza Hut, or at least this particular location. We wanted to order our usual from Round Table but wasn't going to pay $35 for a medium pizza. So we took a chance with PH. Big mistake. Delivery was 40min which would've been fine, but the app kept saying the driver was "on its way" forever. We finally see the app said "delivered", and we're so confused. No one came to our door, did not set off our alarm on the driveway either. We happened to walk outside, to the corner of our street where our SIDE PORCH is, and just sitting there in the cold was our pizza! Who does that?!? That wasn't the FRONT DOOR or even our front courtyard area! There's no walkway to the side porch at all, just a muddy area. So ofcourse the pizza was COLD, and tasted mediocre at best. We went online to let them know, filled out the form, was given a code for a discount on future order, only to repeatedly get rejected when trying to finish the form. I ordered a 3 topping large pizza and found a deal on the website. The pizza was disappointing. Toppings were very scarce. More disappointing is that they don't give you red peppers and parm! It's $.99 for each!!! Really?!! Also be aware that when I ordered online I was charged an additional service fee due to the high cost of doing business in California. And you can't give out red peppers and Parmesan? Needless to say, I'll stick with Northwood and First Class. So I come to Yelp to give an opinion on this Pizza Hut location, because I love it, I don't want this location to shutdown, and I see a bunch of 1 star reviews. What are people complaining about? A couple people ordered on the app during closed business hours. So this is the fault of the restaurant owner? the staff? does it say anything about the quality of the food? If you answered no to these questions, then why are you here? Pizza Hut is large US chain with thousands of locations, you really think you're not going to encounter some kind of issue like this? I know it's inconvenient, a lot of things are and many of them are not the fault of this particular restaurant at this particular location. On a similar note, another person complained that the app added some service or whatever charge. Ok, legit complaint... for the people who write app software and/or people who determine the prices of this national chain's services and food ordering system. Whoever owns this franchise doesn't own the app lol. So call Pizza Hut corporate and keep your feelings off the internet where everything is forever. Same stuff goes for waiting time. I've worked in service industries before, it's perfectly reasonable to be quoted a wait time then to find out on arrival that it was inaccurate. A food location is judged mostly by its product, first, and then by other things like the cleanliness, the setting, etc. This Pizza Hut location is stellar as compared with other national chain pizza restaurants. It's not perfect, when you open the Pizza Hut app to order pizza via a cellular device hooked to satellite orbiting the planet in space and you arrive and your food is there with someone who is going to give it to you, you're not expecting perfect. You just lived through something kings of less than 100 years ago couldn't achieve. It's incredible. And the fact that the food is Pizza Hut-level good is all we want. We aren't here for neapolitan pizza that we might find in Eat, Pray, Love. Julia Roberts won't be there, I'm sorry. I had ordered 2 pizzas for pick up from this pizza hut. I brought them home and then found out that they made a mistake with one of them (they gave me the wrong one). I immediately called the store and they apologized and said they will make a new one and then the manager personally delivered it so that I could get it right away. I am so impressed with the manager. Nowadays, most people don't try to correct their mistakes. But, this manager is one that cares about its customers. I ordered a large pizza today and when I went to pick it up, I asked if I can have some crushed pepper packets, the employee said no sorry we sell those for $1.75, I didn't have my wallet on me since I ordered this online so I said never mind thank you, as I was walking out, I noticed crushed pepper shakers sitting on every table, so I decided to add some on my pizza before leaving the store, but as soon as I sat my pizza on the table, the employee reached out to me and told me that I can't use their crushed pepper because these are for dining in customers only and if I use it she's going to have to charge me for that. I find that very ridiculous for any pizza places not to offer crash pepper, and or Parmesan cheese.
