Great pizza, great drinks, and great appetizers! Everything is so good at CPK, even the complimentary sourdough bread that they serve while you wait for your order. The hand tossed crust is wonderfully thick and crispy. Their gluten free crust, which is made from cauliflower is actually also really good. While I love the traditional pepperoni pizza, one of my favorites here is the chicken Thai pizza, along with the chicken BBQ pizza. I can go on and on and list all my favorites, but it would pretty much be the whole menu...seriously!

Wish there were exit signs in this parking lot trap maze haha. Wound up in a dead end!

+ Interesting selection of food options. Besides pizza, their options include small plates, bowls, and salads. + The salmon piccata was delicious, and the salmon portion is large, - but the overall meal portion was a lil small. - The bbq chicken pizza was a multitude of not healthy: sweet, carb-heavy, and a little salty. And dry. Perhaps fitting for others' taste, but not mine. - Each of the 2 items was a lil pricey for me. + Helpful staff. + Ample seating. + Pleasant interior ambience. - Ample but very crowded parking. . Decent turnaround. My order for 2 entrees took 10-15min. - Gripe: Not many CPK locations near me. Had to drive a bit far. . Glad Costco was having $10 off on top of the save $20 deal. The deal's gone now, so it's just buy 2 $50 gift cards for $80. I had: $22.24 bbq chicken pizza w/ cauliflower crust + $25.99 Salmon piccata + tax = $51.97 Thank you Costco for ~cost-effectively showing me another chain I'll likely never return. (1st one was PF Chang) . Note: You don't have to scratch off the shiny strip on the back of your CPK gift card to use it in person; the cashier simply scans the magstripe. On the other hand, if you're adding the swipe card to your mobile wallet, or perhaps ordering online, then yes, I think you have to scratch it off (to reveal the QR code), as peeling was no easy task for me.

Quick pizza! The BBQ Chicken Pizza is a classic, sweet and savory always hits! The crust was a little tough though... I was in and out super quick, the pickup was really easy. The inside was pretty busy for a random Monday for lunch, lots of office workers nearby getting a quick lunch!

Outstanding Service from Jenna! We had such a wonderful experience at California Pizza Kitchen, and a huge part of that was because of our amazing server, Jenna Forey! Jenna was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. She gave us fantastic recommendations and went above and beyond to make sure everything we ordered was delicious. When there was a question about one of our dishes, Jenna immediately went to the kitchen to get clarification and made sure everything was prepared correctly. She was attentive without being overbearing, genuinely cared about our experience, and made us feel so well taken care of. You can tell she takes pride in what she does and truly wants her customers to have a great experience. Jenna was hands-down the best server in the entire restaurant! California Pizza Kitchen is lucky to have her. If you visit, I highly recommend asking for Jenna, she will make your experience even better!

Me and my bestie were having a rough day and wanted to treat ourselves. Rehanna was our server and she was SO delightful. It was the perfect energy we needed for a girls night. Thank you for telling us about the happy hours deals and ensuring our chalices never ran dry. The food was delicious and it was definitely a successful girl dinner

Our server Gabriela was amazing! I loved her upbeat and friendly attitude, and her efficiency with every request. The server can make or break a dining experience and she definitely made our evening! We've had their pizzas many times in the past, so today we decided to try two new entrees. We got the full sized steakhouse salad with pieces of filet mignon and crispy hash brown style potatoes on a bed of veggies. We ordered the Gorgonzola on the side bc my husband doesn't like it, but I enjoyed eating double portions of cheese! I enjoyed the flavor of the dressing, although I probably should have remembered to order it on the side to save some calories as it was very well dressed. We also tried the chicken tequila fettuccine which came out hot and tasted great. You can definitely taste the tequila flavor in the sauce. The chunks of chicken were tender and the fettuccine was al dente. Almost forgot to mention how yummy the house bread was! It was warm, soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside, with a herb olive oil dip...and I asked for some Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, too!

The Marketplace is a wonderful center where you can shop and walk many stores and pop by one of your favorite eating establishments for a quick bite. I hadn't stop by CPK in a long while and decided to cool off and have a chopped steak salad. I noshed on delicious bread and herbed olive oil. It was so tasty and I was in a rush so I took my two orders home. Thai salad and Steak Chopped Salad. Vanessa was a nice server that looked very busy managing all of the tables by herself. Karim sat me down because nobody was at the host station and the server was juggling too many things to take notice of me. I read many of the reviews and I can see that this location excels in pizza and Happy Hour bites. Salad needs rework. There were 5 small cubes of mystery meat not filet mignon the menu purports. Greens were not crisp and ugly chunks that what one might call stale potato wedges which did not complement the salad at all. A weak new item that calls for fixing or removing off the menu ($22.95). The lunch duo selection was not explained but may be a value if you're looking for one. I doctored my salad to make it palatable when I got home. Please do better. Thai salad was better and dressing could be improved. We used to love CPK... let's bring the love back to our Tustin location!

Solid price and good quality food! My fiancé and I came here for lunch on a Tuesday and it was decently packed. We got seated right away, interior is large with good amount of booth and table seating. We shared a spinach artichoke dip, Thai pizza, and dumpling salad. Our order took a little time since it was crowded but our server was a hustler! Artichoke dip (7/10) creamy and good flavor, chips were a bit stale but otherwise the dip was good Thai pizza (8/10)-great crust! Loved the veggies and the chicken, which was not overly dry, had a light peanut flavor. Dumpling salad (7.5/10)-veggies were fresh and dumplings were crispy, a unique Asian twist. Price for all was $60 which was not bad for the portions. Would love to come back to HH next time!

We came in mainly because we had a gift card, but we were honestly pretty shocked by how great the experience was. The service was super nice and attentive and the food was good. We ordered the chicken tequila fettucine, it had a hint of spice, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the dish was flavorful. we also used the $5 cheese pizza deal, and it wasn't anything special but still good for its' price. overall better than expected.

My bf and I hadn't been here for a few months. We had a lunch special. We each enjoyed our lunch and was surprised by the large serving. Elias was our waiter. He was super. We missed the lunch rush. It was fairly quiet and a pleasant break from holiday shopping. We'll be back again soon.

How can a beautiful restaurant in a crowded shopping center that serves great food get only two stars? "Mismanagement," or lack of management is the cause here. Bring in a competent manager and this place would shoot up to five stars in two weeks. Here is what a customer sees at this location: 1. No one works the host stand. If they see you, they will take their time to come and seat you. 2. Not enough waiters to meet the needs of how many people come at lunch. 3. All men work at this location, and they love to talk to each other. Bro this, Bro that,... they are the boys club having fun behind the bar. 4. Customers raising their hands, trying to get anyone's attention. What do the other guys do? The waiter are running around as fast as they can, apologizing for how long things take. 5. There is no one who is watching the whole place for the needs of the customers. I love the food here. I love the location. We just can't go to this location and eat in one hour. It took us thirty minutes before our starter came. It took twenty minutes for our drinks. Please think of your customers. Hire a competent manager to see what people are doing and train your staff to work as a team.

A classic chain for quick and casual family meals. I went on a Thursday at around 5pm to try the happy hour menu. All of the options were affordable and had decently sized portions. My favorite was the artichoke dip, it was flavorful and great for a light appetizer. The white corn guacamole and chips was also good, it had fresh ingredients but was lacking in salt. The $9 pizza and beer was objectively a great deal, but I'm not a beer drinking so they let me substitute it for a lemonade! Our server was very friendly and checked on us often, there was a slight issue when we got the bill and it didn't apply the happy hour prices, but it was resolved right away!

    THE ORIGINAL BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA
    Michelle S.

I don't normally review big chain restaurants, but this specific California Pizza Kitchen always goes out of their way to provide excellent service and my food was so good today! Can't go wrong with a classic CPK pizza. I got their signature Barbecue Chicken Pizza, and a mango iced tea. I opted for the cauliflower crust to test it out. Sooo good. The crusted was nice and thin but folded to perfection when taking a bite. The sauce is sweet and tangy and the chicken and onions weren't over done, but delish. Several people walked by my table and commented how good my pizza and salad looked! I loved getting lunch here before heading out to nearby shopping, it's a great mid-week spot. Less crowds than weekends and less fuss trying to get in and out of the Tustin Marketplace parking lots.

We ordered the carpaccio, the Spaghetti Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Bolognese. All three were good, competently prepared and enjoyable, though none rose to outstanding. If the food were the only consideration, this would be a comfortable three or four stars. SERVICE FROM ALESSANDRO (Saturday 08/08/2026 @ 7 pm PDT) This is where the evening failed. As first-time guests, we received little attention from our assigned server, Alessandro, throughout the meal. What attentiveness we did experience came from Steve, a server working other sections entirely, who noticed us unprompted and expedited what he could from his end. Steve was courteous, observant, and genuinely helpful -- he read the table correctly without being asked, and he deserves recognition for it. When it became clear we were ready to leave, Steve took my credit card and handed it directly to Alessandro. Alessandro appeared to forget he had been given it, and then delivered my credit card to the wrong table. The result was a long and avoidable wait, and I ultimately had to approach him directly to resolve it. I will own my part: I raised my voice, and that was uncalled for. I regret it. What I cannot excuse is the response. Rather than de-escalating, Alessandro became defensive and matched my volume. In a service-oriented establishment, that is the wrong instinct. One of us was a frustrated guest at the end of a long wait; the other was on duty, and the standard is not the same for both. We did talk it through afterward, which I appreciate, but the exchange should never have reached that point. I will also note, in fairness, that Alessandro brought three cookies with the check. It was a thoughtful gesture and we were thankful for it. It did not offset the conduct that preceded it. The unfortunate part is that everyone else we encountered was pleasant and professional. My thanks go to Steve, who was the role model here and the reason the evening did not end worse than it did. But a single server's handling of a first visit is what a first-time guest takes home, and on that basis we will not be returning.

This review is kinda late, but I was down here in SoCal with my crew last week for a week or so and…read morewe had tried the other Rance's pizza location and really liked it. We were in the Costa Mesa are before we were going to head out back north and my crew wanted to have this deep dish pizza again. What we liked was the crust was so good. It wasn't overly cornmealish like some of these "authentic" Chicago pizza places. I grew up out here in the west, so I'm used to a more flaky light crust. My first Deep Dish Chicago pizza was Zachary's in Berkeley in the Bay Area. This Costa Mesa location is located just south of the 405 at Harbor Blvd. Go to Baker Street and turn left and it's right there. Easy Parking. One thing you gotta know about the deep dish pizzas, they take longer to cook cause they're just so big and need more cooking time, like maybe 35-40 minutes, depending on how busy the kitchen is. We get a classic combo pizza and have some drinks while we wait. It arrives and oh boy does that look good. Dishing it out takes a little practice, but we're good at that now! Everybody loves the flavor and crust. This isn't the cheapest pizza round, but well worth the price and wait. You want cheap go to Straw Hat or something like that.
