This last pizza was dry and hardly no sauce. Will be going else where.. it use to be good but I guess they are cutting back on product.

On a recent home visit I ended up on Punxsutawney. Before we got hangry we needed food so we could…read morecarry on our day. My brother is quite familiar of this area and knew this was here. We pulled in and you can tell this was one of those tear down/rebuild McDonald's. One that was to be focused on the drive thru service and mobile ordering with maybe a bit of inside dining. However, we wanted to dine in and expected to at least have a decent experience. More on that in a bit. But first, the parking lot here is horrible. With it being drive thru focused, parking was an afterthought. Yes, this is located in the downtown region of Punxsutawney and there is street parking, but these usually have ample parking. Where the problem occurs here is if the drive thru becomes super busy. On the right side after you pull in is where the majority of parking is. On the left side is where there have the handicap parking. If both sides are parked, and there is a line that wraps from the drive thru, you are stuck in the parking lot until the drive thru clears. Back to the inside. We used the kiosks to order, took a table number and found a table. With the rebuild, this has a much smaller diner room. We waited a bit and my brother's order was called. However, when they brought the food to the table, they kind of threw it at him, and forgot his drink. He went to the counter to ask for his drink and this was the only time they spoke to him by giving a half-hearted apology. When it was time for my order, they were a little kinder to the food and didn't forget the drinks. It took some time to get our food in here as they were focusing on the drive thru times, but we did finally get our order and it was correct and fresh. But the customer service here needs to be worked on.

Food is always fine. Service is not. Young girl packing orders to go was extremely rude to me…read morewhen picking up an order.

There are choices in this area, but we opted for what we thought would be fast. We should have gone elsewhere if we were looking for fast. This McDonald's has been here for decades. Outlasting the go cart track, multiple rebuilds of the Sheetz, and stores closing down nearby. We pulled in, later in the evening, and the parking lot was nearly empty. We actually wondered if the lobby was closed. But we took the chance to come inside. Like most locations, this one focuses too much on the drive thru. Which became apparent when we had placed our orders and waiting long than you should have to at a fast food place. What was surprising was the customer service. The lady that did end up serving our food to us was a delight. She was funny, didn't take any grief, and if I remember correctly, was singing while she worked. I loved that she put my Dad in his place. My Dad was being a bit too much asking for things that he could have grabbed himself. The food is what you would expect. I did give their new sandwich a try. It was decent and possibly too much food for one meal. The Big Arch is basically the Big Mac in a trench coat. Better cheese and fried onion straws. This location went through a change when McDonald's wanted to grow up, but they held onto some nostalgia things. Like Ronald McDonald outside on a bench and some of the old roofline. But, like I said, not many people will care since they are in the drive thru.

This hasn't happened on just one occasion but probably three over the several years I've lived near here. There's no use complaining, I just stopped going all together.

Smicksburg is a quaint little town with charming country stores. We visited Our Twist of Country furniture store, where my husband found a recliner chair he fell in love with. The salesperson was very helpful in picking out the wood stain and fabric. Now, we're just waiting for six weeks to pick it up. For lunch, we went to the Country Junction restaurant. The service was fast, and the meal was very tasty. My husband had the roast beef and mashed potatoes. He mentioned the beef was a bit dry, but the gravy helped. I had the junction turkey, which was shredded turkey on a piece of stuffing bread - it was delicious, and I'm glad I got the gravy on the side. We were tempted to try the blueberry pie but decided against it when we learned it wasn't made in-house. The cream pies are made in-house, though. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced the meal was. Make The Shop @ Greentree Lumber a must on your list of stops. It's a wonderful, quaint store with all thing's country and more.

My husband had the buckwheat pancakes and they were outstanding. The amount of food on the plate is a deal for your money. The prices are really good too. It was a weekday when we're there so it was not busy and relatively quiet. Our server was very friendly.
