    Pizza slices!
    Jason C.

I like that they are open a bit later, and the staff are very nice. The seating is spacious, and they have a broad range of slices. The pizza is just a-okay. I prefer a crisper crust, though I will say they definitely don't skimp on the cheese.

Ummmm, yummm. There is a moment in every trip to Portland that I crave pizza. Pizza Jerk is always there for me. Whether it's mid afternoon, or late evening munchies. Jacob, has become a regular face we look forward to seeing. His pleasant service, his most excellent pizza preparation, and just genuine hospitality have made us regulars here. Don't forget the mandatory cookies n cream Rice Krispy treats... Till next time!

Very close to hotel so made a visit. I ordered the one slice (pepperoni) and salad. The salad was good but I really enjoyed the pizza and wish I did the 2 slice. Oh well, next time. The pizza was thin crust and very tasty.

Grab a slice and soda for $10.50! :)

Another DAMN good pizza joint that also specializes in NYC style pizza! I love the fact that I can walk from my apartment over here when I get a pizza kick! It's a very popular place with university students when classes are going as well since it's so close to the campus. Service was nice and fast. NY style. Just the way I like it! Friendly folks as well! Also, this business is LGBTQ+ friendly. I like that. :) There's plenty of seating inside! They got tables and booths and even a little bar section looking out at the NS and A streetcar lines. It's also accessible via the MAX Green, Yellow, and Orange lines as well! Pizza is good n greasy. That's how you know it's gonna be a good NY style slice! The sodas are good too! Soda with real cane sugar. Yum. :)

Pretty solid place - i wouldn't pay $30 for a full pie but the two giant slices and soda for $10 is a good value! The space is comfortable to plug in and do some homework or meet up with friends - customer service was great!

The first time I tried Pizza Jerk I was waiting for the Max to come through the PSU Urban Center Max stop and it was cold and I wanted a bite and some shelter from the cold. I grabbed a quick slice of their vegan special thin crust and enjoyed it quite a bit. The person at the counter was very helpful and gave me a menu letting me know that the pricing might not be updated so that's the only negative feedback I really have. The inside is a simple look haven't really been since but it's just a chill pizza spot on campus. The real star for me of Pizza Jerk is their vegan pies! I'm not even vegan and they're my go-to. I love that they have thick crust pies, and the homemade cashew ricotta absolutely slays and I crave it so much now. I can't help but compare other shop's vegan 'za to their masterpiece pies. I really enjoy them and I hope they have an updated to go menu. Thanks for always providing for school events too!

What a fun spot right on PSU campus to meet after work, classes or events around this area! They had a menu board by the ordering counter of the day's specials with very reasonable pricing and lots of dietary accommodation options. I went with the classic Margarita pizza (they did not skimp on the basil!) and my friend got the classic pepperoni slice, both went perfectly with our cold and refreshing beers. The pizza was yummy but overall average. They also had a good selection of beers on tap as well. Service was quick and friendly and plenty of solo, small, or bigger group seating. We sat at this cute little pink booth. They had board games and a Pac-Man game arcade too for your group to play while dining in. The bathroom does have a cold but the fellas in the kitchen were helpful with that. Great place to get pizza and beer to catch up with friends! Come check it out!

Think this used to be pizzicato but it's changed to a nice place for a slice. Tried their cheese and pep and also their meat slice. All were good and priced reasonably. They also have a pinball and arcade machine. Nice place for a slice if you're in downtown

Oh my goodness! I'm so happy that we decided to check this place out. Their vegan pizza is fantastic! Pizza by the slice is the best. The guy working there was also SUPER nice!

    It's PIZZA! What you think?

I lived in NYC for 35yrs -born/raised- and by far this is the closest to a Brooklyn slice than any other spot I've tried in or around PDX! The taste, the sauce, the cheese and ohhhh boy! The crust!! Prove me wrong!!

New York and Chicago are still trying to catch up. But we are in the Pacific Northwest, nowhere near Loui's Pizza or Buddy's Pizza (Detroit pizza staples). So many times, what tries to pass off as "Detroit style" falls miles short. Then came "Ranch" where I stood outside and screwed up enough courage to try yet another Detroit style pizza. The interior was small, one wall lined with tomato sauce cans, the menu was bolted to a wall. The smell took me back and that gave me some hope. The pizza arrived at the table, the wife and I have varied tastes so we each ordered a quarter pizza. Mine was pepperoni, the wife had a veggie. The pizzas looked right, square, caramelized crispy edges, heavy toppings... and then on the side of the plate was this cup of ranch dressing. Duh! "Ranch" obviously has to have a good ranch, right? I dipped my pinky finger in the ranch and took a taste. You would not think one ranch can be so far ahead of the others, but ranch is the place for ranch, as well as pizza. My first bite brought a smile to my face, it was just, right in every way that a Detroit pie should be. I have been back to try their #4 pie with sausage and ricotta, and I am looking forward to more trips. If all that was not enough, the service was friendly, the food came out so quick (about 10 minutes) and the place was nice and clean.

If you're in or planning to be in Portland, Oregon, I respectfully and enthusiastically recommend you include Pizza Kat in your considered alternatives. A thin, flexible, and tasty-all-by-itself crust. Tomato sauce that adroitly walks the lines between sweet and acidic, and between supporting the other elements well, fading into obscurity, and overwhelming those other elements. The right amounts of the right cheeses. And fresh, tasty toppings. (Sweet Italian sausage not dominated by garlic and mushrooms worth eating on their own, for two delicious examples.) Even better, prices are reasonable, and delivery is available. We had some delivered to our hotel, and it arrived almost as hot and tasty as we would have expected were we at a table near the ovens. There are other pizzas worth eating -- including the thicker-crust "deep cut" slices available before and after select shows at Revolution Hall. But when you want the thin-crust version done right, Pizza Kat will leave your taste buds and tummy purring, without clawing the life out of your wallet.

Unfortunately, this was both our first and last visit. I don't think I've ever disliked a pizza before, but this may be the first one I would genuinely call bad. I enjoy wood-fired pizza and don't mind a little char, but somehow this pizza tasted noticeably bitter despite having very little visible charring. Whether it was the lack of sauce, the sauce itself being quite bland, or simply an imbalance of flavors, the end result just wasn't pleasant. The biggest issue is the value. A $25 cheese pizza doesn't need to be life-changing, but it should at least taste better than Costco's. In this case, unfortunately, it didn't. If your goal is to enjoy great pizza, I'd recommend one of the many other pizza spots in the area instead.

We have had repeated issues specifically with takeout orders, over many years. Additionally, if you dine-in, there is an entire bottle of oil on the table that you are encouraged to use on your pizza. It is delicious, and really completes the pizza flavor profile! They used to automatically include two small containers of oil per pizza if you ordered to-go. Current policy appears to be to not include any oil with the pizza (unless explicitly asked) and to only provide a maximum of two oils (even if multiple pizzas are ordered). I don't know if there is an oil shortage or what, but this is silly for a place that charges so much for their pizza. Life of Pie is a typical Portland restaurant that expects you to tip before you receive your food (and also expects you to bus your own table). To me, this expectation alongside with the inconsistency of the food for the price, is disappointing, and does not encourage people to go out of their way to return. When the food is good it is a solid place, however I would expect much more consistency for the price they command.
