We've been Scottie's fans for about 10 years now, my husband even took a pizza making class with Scottie during the pandemic and makes his own version of the grandma pie. My friends got engaged here and had Scottie's cater their wedding. So I guess I'm an OG fan at this point. This location is always busy but there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. You can grab slices or order whole pies. The Defino is the way to go, though you can't really go wrong. It's a grandma style pie, not deep dish but not thin crust, truly somewhere in the middle. The toppings are simple, but the flavor and the caramelized edges take it to the next level. There are no bad choices, but the Frankie P is also special. It's a white pie with lemony ricotta, charred red onions, and a sesame seed encrusted crust, which is really something special. Scottie's may not have the most creative pies, though check him out for pizza week where they really go off, but the ingredients are top quality. To be completely honest, I initially stopped into this place because it smelled so good as I was walking by. The employees here are so welcoming and friendly! The pizza was yummy too. You can order by the slice or a whole pie. My understanding is that tips are not allowed because they an additional surcharge to cover employee benefits and wellbeing. I like the intention behind this, but I really would rather that the price just be included in the cost of the slice. I want to support the employees, and would rather do so by paying for a $6.75 slice than buying a $6 slice with a 75 cent surcharge. Maybe this is just a personal opinion, but if you're removing the option to tip with the intention of supporting employees in this manner, it seems the most courteous to include this surcharge in the sticker price. read more

I'm not lying to you when I say this DeFino slice was one of the best slices of pizza I've ever had. I'm consistently a believer that a pepperoni slice is the superior slice and cheese only is reserved to children mostly. But think again...I'm a changed man The crust alone is perfection. It's like a focaccia that is both crunchy and airy in all the right places. Sauce and cheese mingling together in a perfect romance of flavor, only to be met at the end with freshly chopped basil. There are some great pizzas in Portland, and Scottie's is a contributor. I came in for their pizza special during Portland Pizza Week 2024, and they featured a ziti pizza. Let me just tell ya, this was one of the best pizzas I've had in Portland. The ziti wasn't mushy or soggy, it was seasoned beautifully. There were crispy bits to the pasta that added texture and flavor to the pizza. Whoever came up with this idea, deserves a raise and a bonus. Nothing to write home about. I carefully gave my order. My husband got two pieces of pizza, and I waited for mine. When I finally realized one of his was mine, it was the wrong pizza. I let the server know that it was the wrong and they weren't happy at all. I guess they weren't paying attention. We got the 505 Hawaiian whole pizza. The crust was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The toppings were ok- the pepperoni was crispy, but the green chili was not roasted nor spicy. The pineapple had no flavor so didn't get that sweet nor spiciness I was looking for. read more

I had swoon worthy pizza at Scottie's Pizza Parlor today! The Sasquatch (seasonal) pizza with candied pecans, hot honey, delicata squash was the stuff of your most divine pizza dreams! The best flavors and textures meet in this sold-by-the-slice masterpiece to create a crave-able delight that should be added to the regular menu (but prob won't be because of the seasonal produce needed to keep it on the menu year round). I also had the #1- a time tested winning combo of fresh basil, tomato sauce, fresh and aged mozzarella with shaved parm to set it above the average pizza margarita. Both pizzas feature the delectable, chewy, incomparable sourdough pizza crust that is seriously the best base on which a pizza can be constructed. The ambiance of this shop is traditional pizza parlor seating in a historic building with fabulous, huge windows to let in any light we may get in the PNW. Lots of outdoor seating available if you're lucky enough to visit during our "outdoor seating" season. The staff is friendly and quick with heating your slice of choice. read more

Made with naturally-leavened sourdough from Pacific Northwest wheat and slowly fermented. Bake it up! Organic California-grown tomatoes and only the finest quality cheeses. I stopped in for a slice after work last night and OH. MY. GOD. This has to be the best by the slice pizza I've ever had. The quality is frankly astounding. I was honestly expecting to be disappointed when I saw that what I was going to get was the last slice from the previous pepperoni pizza, but boy was I wrong. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, the ratio of cheese to sauce was perfect, the pepperoni was crunchy and tasty, and even the dipping sauce was amazing! They have a house made buttermilk dipping sauce that I anticipated would be like ranch, and I guess it is KIND OF like ranch...but it's better. And I can't believe I'm saying that...because I love ranch. This location and layout would be perfect to stop by for a lunch break during work, a casual day out with friends, or the obligatory post bar crawl munchies on a wild Friday night. The staff seems genuinely cheerful and friendly. The guy who took my order was all smiles and chatted and joked with me a bit. Really good customer service. The ambiance was casual with lots of open seating including patio seating outside on picnic tables, and booths and window side seating inside. The cans that hold napkins on the tables were also a cute touch of decor. Something interesting to note; they don't do gratuities here. Instead they have a service fee. I've never patronized a business that used this kind of model before, but from what I could tell the employees seemed happy and the quality of service and products was high; so clearly it's working for them. My only point of feedback is that I noticed several tables were dirty and did not get cleaned while I was there. While in theory, having customers bus their own tables can be a great way of reducing labor demands, most customers are not going to brush crumbs off the tables and wipe them down. Having someone to bus, sweep, and clear bus tubs throughout the night would be a good addition to the team. Although, judging by the interview/on boarding that was happening at another table while I was there this may already be in the works. I see good things in the future for this business, and will definitely be stopping by for another slice! read more

I love Scotties!! They are one my favorite pizza places in Portland. The NW location has ample seating indoors and outdoors with a fun pizza parlor booths. I have gotten their pizza to go before so many times from their SE location and decided to visit their NW location for by the slice selections. I got the defino and a seasonal slice.
