What happened to this place?!? It blew up on Yelp and now the quality sucks. I just don't understand how a great thing could turn so bad. I ordered a few months back and the pizza was Meh but chalked it up to them having a bad night. I ordered this weekend and was raving to friends who had not tried it that it was really good pizza. We ordered 2 large pizzas and garlic bread and lets just say I was embarrassed that I suggested this place. My poor friends just ate in silence as there was nothing good to say about the pizza. It was basically cheese bread with NO tomato sauce in it and on the soggy side. Cheese seemed to be cheap low quality cheese as it lacked flavor and the garlic rolls were terrible when they used to be delicious. They were hard, over cooked, lacking flavor and had no salt in the dough. One bad experience I can chalk up to an off night, 2 bad experiences- sorry but Pizza Johny's has lost its way and no longer lives up to it's great reputation on Yelp. My husband is a Pizza Johny's fanatic and even he said he won't be back after this last bad pizza! Pizza Johny's please go back to your old way of making pizzas as what you're doing now just does not cut it! read more

Best thing to new york pizza ive ever had in Miami. Al others claim new york style but this is definitely it. I get it by the slice and box. I usually get ricotta and meatball pizza which is very unique and yummy. Although their pizza is great not a big fan of their garlic rolls. True NY STYLE pizza! I loved the garlic rolls loaded with garlic butter yet still crispy and utterly delicious. The pizza is great as well. perfectly thin crust and full of flavor. The meatball sub was huge and my husband and I could only finish half. Since we are McFatties, we also ordered a cannolo AND an order of Zeppoles. the cannolo was fully stuffed with deliciousness. If that weren't enough, Johny offered us a taste of the Rainbow Bar and now I'm hooked! Oh, and they have Diet Dr. Browns black cherry soda. Ya know, to save my calories for dessert and all. They also have Tab. I didn't know that they still produced the stuff. Mainly a pick-up and go spot, but they do have a couple of high top tables inside and two tables just outside the door. Hard to find something good to say about Johnny's that hasn't already been said. Equally hard to find anything negative to say, except for the limited seating for dine-in. We stumbled upon Pizza Johnny's after reading some of the Yelp reviews. While we live super far, and have several pizza spots along the route, we continue to make the drive to Pizza Johnny's. To start, the parking is a bit tough during peak hours of lunch and dinner and the parking spots are pretty tight. The frustrations with parking are immediately forgotten when you walk in to the restaurant and all of the staffs says "AJ's here; what's up AJ". It is so welcoming. Like a scene from the TV show Cheers. Johnny is usually there cooking and keeps a close watch over everything. The lunch special is a great deal as are all of the pasta dishes. The peperollies are awesome and so are the pepperoni cheese bites. The lasagna, baked ziti, ravioli's (try mushroom, spinach and short rib) are all awesome. The pizza is great as well. Do not leave here without having the rainbow brownies, imported directly from NYC. Overall an amazing spot, family owned and operated, which reminds us of what a pizza joint should be. read more

It's a small place, but I usually come during lunch by myself. They have lunch specials, that are all mostly about $6 which includes a slice of pizza and a side or an extra slice of pizza and a drink! I can't believe I had been to this shopping center so many times and never once checked out Pizza Johny's. I only found them through Yelp and I couldn't pass up their perfect 5-star rating. We picked up a large pepperoni, bacon and mushroom pizza this weekend. The guy who took my order over the phone was really friendly and didn't at all seem annoyed at all of the questions I had. Pizza was ready in 30 minutes for pick up, and the entire staff was extremely nice. Of course what matters is the pizza, right? I'm very pleased to hear that Pizza Johny's made this weeks #WeeklyYelp because it is my go to pizza spot. This review will be short and to the point because it is based on solely the service I have received via delivery. I'm a sucker for thin crust/new york style pizza and as any pizza lover will tell you it's all about the crust. What I like about Johny's is the consistency they deliver with that crust. It has that perfect chew to it which is a nice blend of squishy and crispy. Again mind you this is after it's been sitting in the back of a delivery vehicle. I can only imagine how good it is eating it at the restaurant. I also recommend the Italian Sandwich, for me it's a staple and my fat ass always pairs it with a slice of cheese pizza on the side. What more can I say about Pizza Johnny's that hasn't already been said? The garlic knots are heavy on the garlic, the pizza is a legit New York style with big foldable slices, the stromboli are big enough to share (but why would you?!), and the cannolis have a wonderfully light cinnamon flavor nearly impossible to find anywhere else. My fiancée grew up in New York amongst Italians (Ozone Park area in Queens), and Pizza Johnny's enthusiastically gets her thumbs up regarding the authenticity of their style; it even extends to their sodas - why bother with a Coca-Cola when you can get a Dr. Brown's Black Cherry? They've even got it in diet if you're keeping the illusion of watching your figure. We've been here four times, and plan to return many more to continue trying out more of their tasty offerings. The service is fast and friendly - they made us feel like regulars our first visit, which ensures we'll keep coming back, and the prices are quite reasonable. The guys behind the counter are friendly and definitely have that East Coast vibe to them. Makes me miss it up north. I got the special, two slices and a coke. I've been in the area for nearly three years now and this was my first time sampling this delicious pizza. As someone who generally watches their food choices carefully (sad to say I am not genetically blessed when it comes to gaining weight) I hardly ever have Pizza. However, after a girl lunch with one too many glasses of wine, the husband was hungry and I was way too lazy. Ordered the pizza online, extra cheese and onions throughout, sausage on half only for the hungry man. Added 2 cannolis for a sweet touch. The pizza arrived within 40 minutes or so. Absolutely delicious! Those cannolis too though.. wow!! just spectacular!! This will certainly be our go to spot for those rare pizza nights going forward! read more

Owner and staff are super friendly. The guy is straight out of the NY/NJ area, with the accent and dry humor to match. Prices are very reasonable when you consider the quality and freshness of the food. Portion sizes are good and fair: you're not getting gut-busting portions but they certainly give plenty. Again- quality is the key here, and the quality is high. Basically the salads are only $1 more than Subway, and they kick SW's butt in quality and freshness. Worth a buck to me. read more

Loved this place, and by the amount of people that were in and out while I was there, other people love it as well. I went for a small pepperoni pizza, which the pepperonis are small and look like little buttons. I also had to try their pinwheel, since those seem to be popular items. I tried the meat one, and I thought it was pretty good. Possibly a bit overrated, as I thought it was a little dry and could use just a tad bit more of sauce. Regardless, I would get it again as a small appetizer. The pizza was great, too. As far as seating, there isn't much. There are a couple tables inside, and a couple tables outside. ordered an XL cheese pizza for the kids and surprisingly enough it was very good. Crust was made nice and crispy (which i love lol) and flavors were right on. pizza was not greasy at all. they had just gotten power back after hurricane Irma so they had no garlic or pepperoni rolls so we will be returning to check those out. read more

Best pizza ever! Hands down amazing. :-) We ordered the "Favorite" pizza (basically sausage and peppers and onions). Dough is hand-tossed right in front of your eyes. Toppings were generous. I'll give a two star because the presentation is great! Love all the decoration hugging this small hidden spot. The presentation of the Calzone was great. But as a ex-owner of an Italian restaurant, I have to say the Calzone was not the greatest I've tasted. They went overboard with the ricotta cheese to the point that it was the only thing I tasted when taking a bite. Then the dough was uncooked in some parts of the calzone which was really disgusting to eat around it. The Canoli presentation was great as well but it was way too sweet and tasted more like eating icing than having a creamy light taste to it. It's sad because the actually place looks very nice and great staff. Just don't rush in making the food. It's better to wait and getting something worth coming back to. read more

I've been looking for a new pizza place since Miami's Best closed. I found it. Pizza Johny's is more than a worthy successor: it's noticeably better. I thought the pizza was packed with flavor (including the bites of plain cheese that I had). Garlic rolls were great as well, and I was happy with the Greek salad. They also have NY bakery desserts like black and white cookies, rainbow cookies, etc. Staff is extremely friendly. When I walked in (and this was my first visit), it felt like this was my neighborhood pizza place where I had been dozens of times. The atmosphere is that great. Staff was chatting with customers (while they kept up the pace). The folks who work here are NY-level gregarious. Customers who didn't know each other were chatting. It's a great vibe here. So after 72 reviews, Johnny's is rated 5 stars! And you won't see a change here- another 5 from me. Based off of Yelp ratings, we went to Johnny's in Kendall off of Sunset drive. I called ahead and ordered the 4 meats pizza and of course an order of garlic rolls. When I came in, I was warmly greeted by the employees and Johnny himself. After letting them know my name, Johnny had my pizza ready to go back into the oven to ensure it was fresh and hot for my take home order, what a great little though and shows how they care for their product. On to the pizza- it was fan-tas-teek! I'm am usually a pan pizza kinda guy- but this NY style pizza did the number to me! I am in love with the pie and it's be ft friends the garlic rolls (just make sure you don't get the rolls if your on a date!) Do yourself a favor and get the freshly piped canolis as a dessert- perfect finish being as I won't be kissing anything but a toothbrush tonight! I was fiendin for some New York style pizza so I Yelped it and found Pizza Johnnys. TLDR, go to bottom. Its a small place but has everything I love seeing at a pizzeria, giant pizza oven, fresh dough been tossed, and that great smell of pizza. If there is space eat the pizza there, youll thank me later. The service was great and Johnny was very welcoming and helpful. I ordered half pepperoni and half italian sausage with jalapeños all over it. The dough is fresh and great, not soggy since we ate it there. It was cooked crispy and had a great crunch and the pepperonis werent as greasy as other places. Over great place for new york style pizza and Johnny makes awesome pies. read more
