One of my favorite pizza places in Portland! We have lots of pizza places in Portland! It almost seems like a new one is being opened every day. Pizza Kat gets it right on in so many ways:).. I can't say enough good things about Pizza Kat. Where do I begin?:)lol I will start with the pizza first. It's amazing on so many different levels. The crust is out of this world. So flavorful, and just the right consistency, and the red sauce is amazing. I have yet to try the white sauce, but look forward to trying it. The pepperoni pizza is amazing, and they load it heavy with quality pepperoni. This is awesome as many pizza places put like two or three pieces of pepperoni, and it's always super greasy. Not at Pizza Kat. The cheese is excellent. Having a slice of this pizza fresh out of the oven is like heaven on Earth. I have tried the hot salami, and vegetarian pizza and they are great also. They are always, using quality ingredients no cheaping out at Pizza Kat. I have yet to try the Vegan pizza but look forward to trying it. I appreciate that Pizza Kat is so inclusive of many different diets. I like eating meat, but enjoy being a part time vegetarian:). The best of both worlds. I almost forgot they have great salads. They don't stop there they have olives, meatballs The ambiance is casual, but tastefully decorated with some Italian features. I appreciate that as I am part Italian. Viva Italia. (Also, the pizza reheats great in the toaster oven.) There is also some great outdoor seating, which has a very European feel. It reminded me of my great experiences visiting cafe all over Europe. The service is first rate I couldn't believe how quick the pizza came out. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. It was great to meet the owner he actually took the time out as he was busy to tell me how me perfected his craft before he opened up, He and his wife opened up during the pandemic and survived. That says a lot right there. I can't recommend this place enough. With much gratitude thank you Scott and staff for bringing some joy and happiness to my life. What a far cry from what it used to be. I used to come here all the time and their pizza was the best on this side of the river. Nope. Crust was FLOPPY, like bad. It wasn't awesome. But the service was absolute garbage. No hospitality whatsoever. The cashier barely looked up from her phone, acted like I was a bother to be there. Pizza Kat is a new Portland spot created by Crown Paella. They have been at paella and catering for many years, they know food. Most importantly they know how to invent dishes a variety of eaters will love to eat because they are tasty. We had a side, a salad and a small pizza. It's a meal for two. The roasted cauliflower dish will be loved by cauliflower haters. It is lightly roasted but still crunchy. In this dish are dried cherries forming the sweet flavors of a light vinaigrette and with pine nuts and pepper flakes. It is light without oil. The seasonal salad I had was cantaloupe, cucumber and a small amount of thinly sliced fresh fennel. It is in a lemony vinaigrette with some pepper flakes. I rarely have found things to do with cucumbers, and this is a great combination! The pizzas are built on their own sourdough crust with some salt. It is thin and chewy with a medium handle to honor the dough. If you have to divide it at home I would use scissors, but in the box it is already divided. The pizza fillings cover the base, not too thin and not too thick. In the Alley Kat meatball pizza, the marinara is not overly sweet and has a good herb background - basil? The meatballs are dense and tasty with some herbal notes too. There is a last cooking seconds scatter of fresh basil leaf. This pizza can stand with the best of Portland artisanal pizza of the new millenium, learned from centuries to a millennium of Italian styles. For now they are order ahead on the Internet, and pick up at the window, or they will bring it to your car. They have a dedicated parking lot to the West of their building. It is easier to pull in if you are traveling Eastbound on Burnside, to save a left turn across traffic if you are coming West on Burnside. The ordering system does not require you to sign up with the ordering system and create a password which is a plus with the necessary evil of creating a thousand ordering app accounts. The app does capture your email and phone, which was not needed to pick up the order. They have a small dining room which will open post-Covid. Though I would consider kat as the punk of cat, this Pizza Kat is simply a well executed local ingredient and house-made pizza spot with creative sides and salads, read more

WOW. Portland's best pizza. Amazing pizza even though it was delivered. Great bite on the crust, chewy but not too chewy. It is NY style but a better crust, no need to fold a slice over as it holds up on its own. We have probably ordered delivery (doordash) from the Kat around 20 times and every-time it has been amazing. AND their ice cream is out of this world, it makes Salt and Straw taste like AMPM soft serve compared to the Kat's ice cream. read more

They do their pizza is really good and in a welcoming environment. They have a small parking lot that can be difficult to leave from but that's still better than elsewhere nearby. The space feels nice and I enjoy being able to sit at window. Only had slices there and wish there were more options but completely understand why there aren't. It was on our "go to" list for a while before we finally made it over to West Burnside. Needless-to-say, we will not stay away for long. This is a pizza-destination pizza-place. Well worth the drive (or walk, or ride, or . . . ). Oh, did I mention the staff? Yep, it is locally owned and there is a good chance your order will be taken by the owner. We moved into Goose Hollow 18 months ago. Our delivery Pizza ordering experiences have been underwhelming. But we had a friend visit and were looking for a place to go for lunch. I found Pizza Cat online and we decided to walk down to try it for lunch. What a delightful experience! Not only were they welcoming and helpful, the Pizza was excellent! The atmosphere pleasant, it was a wholly delightful experience. I've worked in my share of customer service jobs and I truly appreciate great customer service, this was a welcome surprise. This was a rad pizza fix. Charming cafe on the main road, it has a wonderful interior with awesome tile work and such. At the time it was only take-out at the door and the lady who took my order was super friendly & helpful. I didn't try as much as I wanted during my short stay last month so I just got a custom vegan pie or the Club Med (fennel & basil are one of my favorite things). Second Shoutout to this wonderful Pizza shop! We literally couldn't get enough of their pizza after the first night so we drove across the bridge the night after hoping to find that tasty duck egg topping pizza and sadly they made that pizza on the fly as I spoke to the wonderful front window lady (sorry I didn't catch your name!) and she informed us that she had gotten those eggs from her neighbor!! Wow! Just wow that's cool. Sadly we came pretty late so all that was left was their cheese pie so we decided to grab a slice to try anyway. What happened next was truly humbling. The kind lady saw that there was two us and actually warmed up a second pizza on the house and gave us the opportunity to try their homemade secret sauce which I believe they'll start offering later. It was totally unexpected and warmed our hearts just how passionate they are about making creative and epic tasting pizzas and how much they care about their customers; I applaud you Ms.!!! The pizza: It really tasted pretty good on its own even being reheated but holy moly, the sauce she gave us truly made our taste buds dance and paired fantastically with their cheese pizza!! No I'm not exaggerating and no we weren't dead hungry when we went for a pizza snack, this sauce was tangy, creamy, a bit sour and the closest thing I can relate it to was a cross between tzatziki sauce & ranch but it was neither! It's been a couple weeks so I can't remember completely but I think it might've had yoghurt and dill flavor in it. Nonetheless, it elevated the pizza from ordinary to wow and I couldn't have been happier since our favorite special pizza from the first night was unavailable. Was really happy to see a fresh new pizza spot open on upper Burnside and didn't hesitate when i caught they were making a loaded meatball pizza. Ordered the Alley Cat and man was it great! The meatballs have that nostalgic flavor of chef Boyardee, but with the feeling like in Ratatouille when I'm zapped back to being a child and enjoying that meatball flavor. Pizza Kat is great! Their pizzas are high quality. When I visited, my sister and I got a Triple Cheese pizza. The pizza had a great thin crust and the variety of cheeses meshed well together. The sauce was good as well. I ordered the pizza on their website for takeout and it was an easy process. There is a little parking lot next to the restaurant and the restaurants is close to the routes 15, 18, and 20 bus stop. They also have pizza by the slice, a few salads and appetizers, and some desserts. Please make sure to check the hours before you visit since they are not open every day of the week.
