This is one of my go to neighborhood pizza spots that isn't a big chain. The prices are reasonable and the taste is good the dough is just thin and chewy enough. I have seen Pizza on 40th at this location for a very long time, and had never discovered this hidden gem. Little tiny spot in the Speedy Cash plaza, so not necessarily a place for a first date, unless she is about that pizza life. (My girl = about that life) Ordered 2 slices of sausage and pepperoni. The sliced italian sausage has a nice flavor that goes will with the pepperoni. The crust is true to NY style, being firm enough to grip and fold. And 2 dollars a slice before toppings?! These are like pre Recession prices. 4 slices of pizza and 2 drinks for less the 14 bucks... and it was better than just good. I also consider that this pizza place made it through the worst times of Covid and there are literally 15 other places for pizza within about 3 miles. Ginos East didn't make it in this same area. I saw this place on Yelp for the first time and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat there. Checked out the menu quickly online and saw they have pizza by the slice. I arrived at exactly 9:40 (they close at 10pm) and ask if I could just get a couple slices of cheese, which is one of their advertised specials outside. The cashier immediately says that they don't have any slices left. She just leaves it at that and kinda stares at me as if I'm supposed to turn around and leave or something. At least present me with a quick and easy alternative or say "sorry that is already sold out for the night would you like xyz instead?" It's not like I walked up at 9:58 asking for a single slice of cheese pizza... definitely doesn't help to build business with new customers when you try to turn them away, whether intentional or not. I get it- I work in a restaurant and the chefs always want to go home early and close before we actually lock the doors. Then again it wasn't even that late or close to closing, and a PIZZA place should always have slices on hand. Always. I decided to go with a cheesesteak instead which ended up being over $8 with tax. Now depending on the quality and fillings of a cheesesteak that could totally be worth it, but I have been let down in the pastR before. So I get it just with mushrooms, meat and cheese ( no onions or peppers). Turns out to be pretty substantial as far as portion size and the taste is on point too. My one criticism is that they layered the cheese on weird because it was added after the bun had been already closed, creating a mozzarella stick-like cheese log on top...not that that is a problem just a little odd. Stomach full, but with my pizza cravings still left unfulfilled I am going to stop by another day and try their infamous slice deal. Until then stay hungry my friends. ~~~~~~~ Edit: The very next day I swung by for lunch so I could try the pizza. Turns out its fantastic for the price of $4.50 for 2 slices plus a small soda. This is a mixed review. I suspect this place may make good pizza PIES. This was an unusual experience. I pass this place in Arcadia frequently & it struck me as possibly a slice joint. Since places that advertise New York style pizza inevitably fall short, I always kept driving. I finally stopped in yesterday. Inside it is a typical pizza place, but untypically. there were no pies or portions of pies on display, & other than a pie a guy was making, there was no pie visible. Also untypical is that there was a very well dressed, & well manicured young woman behind the counter, Generally women working in pizza places are dressed so they can get dirty. This gal wasn't getting dirty. I asked her if they sell slices or just pies. She responded very politely & with personality, that they sell slices, & I ordered a slice. There were two Hispanic American or Hispanic men in the work area, one was making the pies, one was prepping other food orders. What I experienced from getting one slice there was a bit unusual, but basis to make me think that ordering a fresh pie there might be a rewarding experience. No exaggeration, 6 or 7 minutes went by & I was not given a slice. So I began to watch the guys making the pies & working the oven. Another two or three minutes went by & I very politely asked the young woman,- Do the guys know that I ordered a slice?She responded- Yes they do....Then added- They're the ones who put it in, I don't. She was friendly, very well spoken. I didn't bother to respond that I asked cause I had never waited this long for a slice of pizza to reheat in an oven. Another two or three minutes went by & one of the guys took my slice out. When I received the pie, I was kinda surprised. It looked super dried out. I had never seen anything like this in my life. I considered tossing it in the garbage & taking a loss. Possibly the slice had been sitting all day, but still, 10 minutes or more for a slice of reheated pizza is excessive. So, is it possible the slice had been frozen? Maybe they don't sell many slices, so keep a few frozen slices in the freezer? In any event, I took it outside, it was thin, & the crust, though cooked a but more than normal, looked like NY style. I took a photo, & bit in. The slice was seriously dried out cheese on top, any top sauce was long burned out. The sauce below had good flavor & was tasty. The crust was good. The texture was right, & after I took a bite the surviving pizza section of crust, sauce, looked right. The crust was pretty good, far better than most Phoenix pizza, & the bone of the crust was tasty with good texture.. Because the slice was so dried out on top, I would not buy a slice there again, But I am curious what a full pie there, fresh out of the oven, would taste like. It might be really good. This is a special place. Great and affordable pizza. The wings are muy delicioso. Turkey sandwiches are good but definitely not nearly as good as the aforementioned items, yet still worthy if you have someone in your party whose not in the mood for pizza, which I occasionally find myself to be. Best of all it's a local mom and pop with always professional, friendly, and speedy service. My only suggestion on how to improve would be to get another ranch. It does the job though. read more

What a disappointment. I came here before a couple of times before they closed and they served me some tasty pastas. Today however they must have wanted to go home early. We ordered here last night, we wanted pizza at home, and to feed a lot of people. We got two large pizzas, Hawaiian and a pepperoni, and 20 wings, medium and hot buffalo sauce. Pizza was okay, I'd say a bit better than dominos. However, the Large is Huge! With humongous foldable slices! Wings were okay, we asked for extra crispy, but they were not the slightest crispy. To be fair, they were put in to go boxes, therefore steaming on the way home. I did put them under the broiler to try and crisp them up. Anyway, if you're looking for basic pizza, huge slices, New York size, (not taste, unfortunately) then this is a great place for you! read more

Wow wow wow. This pizza joint right here is going to me comeback again and again. I got a medium sized pizza, mozzarella sticks, and an order of wings and it was all good!!!! But hands down the pizza was the best, it was a tier above the sticks and the wings. It's New York style so it's nice and thin. It has the perfect amount of cheese and sauce I feel.
