Thank god they came to Sparta. We've been waiting for a pizza place around here that knows amazing food. There food and customer service is beyond amazing. They go above and beyond for everyone. Had a bad experience but received an immediate call from the manager and he did his best to rectify the situation

it was so bad i wanted to give it a zero but that's not possible so i give it a one. pizza was alright but my friend and i were rudely rushed out by the owner ( or who i think was the owner) because we used the bathroom. he questioned if we bought anything with an attitude and was just overly rude. he kept saying that it was a "family restaurant" which i don't think was necessary. What a great little find! We took our kids to the playground nearby and afterwards were looking for a casual sit down place for dinner. We found this spot and glad we did. This pizzeria has a lovely dining area with spacious booths. We were seated with menus. It's a BYO so a +. My husband went right to Shoprite liquors to get a bottle while we were waiting. We received a lovely little complimentary platter of bread with olives, cubes of fresh Parmesan, and mushrooms. All quality ingredients and excellent! We split a salad that had grilled chicken, artichokes, greens, etc. Also great! We ordered a Grandma Pie with half pepperoni to share. It had excellent flavor and the pepperoni had that gourmet taste to it! My only complaint is the pie was lacking tomatoes. More tomatoes/sauce would be my only critique. Decided to stop in before hitting the local Shop Rite and I'm glad we did. From the minute we sat down our server Alicia could not have been friendlier or more helpful. What an asset to this establishment. Pre- meal we got a nice olive & cheese board. The meals were both well prepared and huge. For a pizzeria / restaurant type establishment this place is a huge step above. Bottom line is we enjoyed a great meal and we will definitely return very soon. Well worth the trip. read more

I ordered a half pepperoni half plain pizza today. Instead I received a half plain half pineapple pizza. The pizza not only came with the wrong toppings but burnt around the edges. It looks like they took a already cooked pizza and just threw pineapple on it. This is absurd. read more

Yay!! Another chain pizza place. One bite and you taste that crust that is close to the Ellio's pizza you could have picked up from Shop Rite next door. I so wanted to like this place. It's bright and shiny and the place is crawling with young people. Sparta is severely lacking in any real decent food. Maybe it's the water or the altitude. We wanted a slice after shopping and was hoping to bite into something delicious with a glass of red wine. This was a real let down. Couple times now I am getting chicken cutlets that are purple on the inside. Chicken Parmesan, salads, mostly. It's crazy because when this place is on they are the best in Sparta. We have ordered pizza via delivery twice within the last month and have been very pleased with pizza so decided to eat outside at restaurant today. It was awful! pizza by the slice was not heated up enough - even when asked to heat up again. half of food we ordered was labeled for pickup and forgotten about. when we asked for it, over 30 minutes later, it was simply dumped on plate and again brought out cold and soggy without utensils... had to wait again. I thought it was overpriced for what we received ($60. for 4 slices, an appetizer and personal pizza), seems like a lot. So many employees standing around, but only one young inexperienced girl helping us. Bottom line, we might order delivery from here again, but will NEVER eat at the restaurant. DISASTER!! read more

We ordered the Margarita Pizza crispy....it came in soft and even worse the mozzarella tasted old. It had to be the worse pizza I ever had. Obviously Pizza One could care less about my complaint since they kind of brushed it off. I am going to file for a refund on my credit card stating that I was very disappointed in my food . Honestly really disappointed in this restaurant. We ordered delivery from them two days ago and the pizza was great. Became our new favorite pizza place pretty quickly. We order from them again today, we get a call about 10 minutes later that they have somebody who can deliver to us if we pay an extra fee. As we had already tipped over 20% on the card, the guy says that we are now out of his radius. That he is the manager and he wasn't there when they delivered the other day. Me and my fiancé have both been delivery drivers and worked in the industry and know that the fee does not go to the delivery drivers anyway but to the restaurant. This manager doesn't really seem to know a lot about business and honestly seems pretty lazy as he can't accomplish what was accomplished two days ago when he wasn't there. The first time I went here was 4 weeks ago. I had meatball parmigiana sandwich which was great! So I tried a chicken salad this time the chicken was like rubber, recooked. So I was turned off by that. So I decided another time to go with the spaghetti meatballs. The meatballs tasted sour. I only ate one and got sick the next day. My husband and I decided to give them another try maybe it was a fluke.. how could it be that bad again. I got the lasagna, well the sour meat was back again. Gross! Don't let the strip mall and the name fool you. This place is awesome and capable of a gourmet menu. We recently commissioned Pizza One to cater a family repass. Our menu ranged from gourmet sandwiches to grill peach salad, salmon to chicken Murphy, & pastas to bruschetta. Each dish was perfectly prepared with the freshest ingredients. Met a friend for dinner tonight at Pizza One in Sparta. As soon as we sat down, we were given hot rolls with garlic oil, olives, and cheese. The rolls were crusty on the outside and light and flaky inside. For dinner, I had Stewie's Salad and my friend had a personal pizza. The salad was HUGE and very fresh. My friend said the personal pizza was excellent. We splurged and tried the creme brulee cheesecake for dessert - it was amazing, and so beautifully presented. The coffee was also excellent - the best I've had at a restaurant in some time. I brought home a couple of pizzas for the kids (one cheese, one pepperoni and mushroom) and both were well-received. Our waitress was extremely sweet and attentive throughout the evening. Overall, an absolutely enjoyable experience. We will definitely return. Thank you! read more

I've heard amazing things about this place. I've had it a few times and it was good. However it's sort of a hit or miss. Sometimes it's great, other times not so much. I picked up a pizza last night after waiting 2 hours and it was burnt to a crisp. I'm not picky but it was barely edible. The entire bottom half was charred. I had been waiting for a long time already and it was super disappointing. I understand they are busy but that is no excuse for charring a pizza to the point where it is black on the bottom. Hopefully they can hire some more people so things aren't so rushed. read more

Where do I begin....! The resrrau was extremely hot inside, however I heard that they had homemade pasta so we stayed. We ordered fried calamar for an appetizer followed by small Caesar salad then we had eggplant parmigiana and fettuccine Alfred. Let's start with the calamari it was so over cooked that besides the breading being crispy the calamari itself was browned and crunch. Then came our salads and also our dinners, which the waiter said when bringing it to our table, oh this is the wrong table and left us to eat our salads. About 15 minutes later our entrees came out and not only were they iced cold, but the food that originally was stated to belong to another table was indeed our food. The pasta was reheated and was mushy and cold so was the eggplant parmigiana. The kitchen thought that microwaving it would be fine, well they were wrong as the food was now just mush. For a first and only experience if I could give a zero trust me that's what I'd do, but I can't so a 1 star. Oh and by the way we first wanted the lasagna which is highlighted on the menu is no longer on the menu. read more

So Friday night is always a test for trying a new pizza place. Delivery would have been 1.5 hours so we opted to pick up - 45 minutes - not too bad. Unfortunately, this place did not make the grade for us. We ordered a Cheese Pizza and requested it well done but they did not follow through with that. It was a pretty good pie. To try out a couple eclectic menu items we opted for the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, a Rice Ball and the Rosemary Parmesan Truffle Fries. Disappointing. The Rice Ball was horribly soggy with too much rice. The Egg rolls were just meat and cheese in the egg roll with a "fancy sauce" on the side, neither complimented the others flavor profile. And the Fries were like the batch you get from McDonald's that have been sitting under the hot lamp for a couple hours - tough and soggy. Plus there was so much parmesan cheese and salt that it overwhelmed any other flavors such as the truffle and rosemary - not even sure they included truffle. I paid $7.99 for that portion of fries. If we retuned it would only be for the Pizza but if they can't get it well done the way we like it, we'll be on to another pizza place. read more
