About a year ago, I discovered that this cafe had garlic knots baked with gobs of roasted garlic on it. My friend tried the garlic knots and loved it, too. The customer service was good as well with the associates being professional and friendly. However, all this has changed recently. Remembering that the garlic knots were really good, I revisited the cafe only to find that the garlic knots are now sub-par. So I decided to try the spinach bourekas out of curiosity and the cashier appeared angry in an indifferent way when he rang up my order without saying anything except for the price of it. His rude behavior was a huge turn off. No eye contact or acknowledgement and not even a mere thank you. Wish this cafe still has the awesome garlic knots they used to serve to the customers! The vodka pizza slice was not bad despite the poor customer service. Unless the customer service changes for the better, I would be hesitant to come back to try more of their food. read more

So today I ordered from pizza palace cafe. I usually love the place but don't like the prices since it's rlly pricey. One time my little brother had spoiled cheese in his pizza and i was about to give this place a bad review. But now, im putting this review because i ordered at 8 and this man was about to place my order for 4 regular slices. But then i asked how many slices it would be he said 15.60. I said no im not asking in total im asking for how much each slice and he kept telling me he wasn't gonna make it lower even though I NEVER SAID TO MAKE IT LOWER I ONLY ASKED HOW MUCH EACH SLICE. However, he kept telling me he has no time for jokes and then hung up on me. I kept calling him over and over and afterwards he picked up. I asked him did you place my order he said no. I'm like why he said I was asking too many questions I said I only asked how much a slice is he said 3.90 finally after hanging up on me twice he finally place my order. Simply terrible. I don't think this institution knows what a food thermometer is. Without fail, every single time my family and I have eaten at Pizza Palace Cafe, we've all gotten food poisoning. Their cold foods and fish are noticeably too warm, and their hot foods are never hot enough. This breeds bacteria while the food sits there. Not to mention that it's often also exposed to insects and anything else that is airborne. If you like coming down with the runs, severe stomach pain and an occasional fever, then this place is for you. However, If you're like me and have reasonable expectations that food you purchase from an eatery won't make you sick, I would highly recommend steering clear of this place. I have tried Pizza Palace Café several times over the last year and a couple weeks ago was the final straw. UGH. I want to give this place a good review, I really do- but unfortunately I just can't because I keep on having bad experiences. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to go because there aren't many good options near my workplace and I eat out every day, but it's still not a good choice. I had falafel once and found a long hair in my food. Then two days ago I ordered a garden salad from them on seamless. I got the salad without dressing. No problem, thought I would call get the dressing in no time since I'm a block away. But this encounter shocked me. I was transferred to a guy who told me get this: THEIR GARDEN SALAD COMES WITH NO DRESSING. What?!? Who are you kidding? Own up to it. You forgot the dressing. If it is true and the garden salad doesn't come with dressing then that is just plain wrong. At least pair it with some oil vinegar- just something!!!!! Slices came lit scolding hot , cashier didn't listen to request. That's fine I order 2 more slices and asked them not to heat.I noticed my kids weren't eating the slices and took the two extra ones home . I proceeded to try them and they were inedible . Just a odd image to create in my mind considering the next set of words have to do with kosher chalav Israel something something. Looking out upon passersby when your eating, that's cool -- and somewhat normal giving the circumstances. Being looked upon while your eating by passersby, --- extremely uncool -- not to mention the walk by traffic volume is steady and continuous. Sit and eat inside and you'll be continuously gazed upon as well, little tint? Little awning? Yuck. So I stood outside and watched eaters inside like all the peepers walking this little shopping strip. I thoroughly enjoyed the three items off the Borekas menu, Turkish style. Horrible attitude from cashier. They have an outdated menu up on display, and when ordering something that was only $21, the cashier said it's $27 and change... I thought maybe she made a mistake, but she then turns to the menu, says "the prices changed since then, you still want it?" with nasty tone as if she's tired of explaining something to me. She didn't explain why a digital display menu was out of date, no apology for basically falsely advertising prices and just had an over all attitude. Beware. As soon as they changed ownership the place has gone to shit. The new owner is disgustingly rude, which doesn't matter if the food is good, but I ended up actually having to go to the hospital because of their mushroom pizza. I ordered 1 mushroom slice for myself as well as 4 regular slices for my family. Thank god my kids and husband did not eat the mushroom slice. Because about an hour after I ate that slice, I started vomiting and having diarrhea and an anaphylaxis reaction up until I passed out and had to have emergency ambulance take me to the hospital. After hours of tests, X-rays, cat scans, and iv fluids the hospital confirmed it was food poisoning. The next day my husband called them to let them know that they should take a look at the mushrooms they use for the slice and basically to be careful with expired produce and it was not much of a surprise when the rude owner denied everything and just couldn't care less. Basically which led me to making this post and will DEFINITELY NEVER be ordering from them again. It's unfortunate that it's the only kosher pizza in the area but now I will be driving a little farther to get pizza so I can guarantee better service and fresher food that won't end up having me spend a night in the hospital. read more

I've been coming to this Pizza Palace Cafe for years. However, this morning I didn't like their service at all. I noticed now different people working here. Maybe under new management. Completely lacking the knowledge of customer service. A customer doesn't need to feel like he/she does a favor by coming here. Plus I noticed their price level doesn't much their quality. Waiting time today was way too long for just an egg and cheese. I waited 15 min, and normally the egg and cheese has to be around 5 min of wait. The crew don't have smiles in their faces. And no "Thank You" for a customer. Please do yourself a favor, just because this place have a "kosher" certificate doesn't mean that the place is good and clean. Far be it abnormal to find a Kosher restaurant in Forest Hills, however, what I did find strange is that this Kosher Pizza joint also has some really good sushi! Never in my life have I even thought about eating sushi at a pizza place. Pizza Palace, however, has changed my mind, at least for this place. The main people in the front taking orders always look so grumpy/give you attitude. They got my order wrong twice but figured it gets busy, so I didn't dwell on it. DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM THIS RESTAURANT. I ordered delivery from this restaurant at 8:40pm using seamless.com. At 9:10pm around the time the food was supposed to arrive, they called me to tell me that they were not going to deliver the food because I live too far away. Leaving aside the fact that I live less than 2 miles away, why did it take them 30 minutes to let me know that they weren't going to make my food? When I asked them that, they told me that they were busy. They promised to cancel the order and refund my money, but they didn't do that. I had to call seamless to get them to cancel the order and refund my money. They need to figure out how to accurately set their delivery range, notify customers in a timely manner, and follow through when they promise refunds. This is terrible customer service. read more

I have been here before a few times. I really liked it. I came in yesterday for some late breakfast. Staff was beyond friendly. I got a regular bagel w cream cheese and lox. Was great, very fresh. I had their pizza the other day and bourekas. Tastes good as well, comes in different flavors mushroom, potatoe and spinach. They have good variety on the menu breakfast, pizza, sushi. Even freshly made smoothies. This place is kept very clean and usually pretty busy. I will admit it is pricey, but normal since it's kosher joint. Looking for a quick place for good bagels and omelets you are halfway there. Food was great, menu confusing for staff. We knew what we wanted, took a few tries to get it straight. To ALL of my jewish friends from RP/FH community. If the place says KOSHER, it's doesn't automatially means that it is GOOD. Customer service in this place is pretty bad, in the words of the young folks which run this cafe -- it SUCKS! They don't pay any attention to the customers order. For example, the tall guy always tries to throw your bagel into the toaster even though I never request my bagels toasted. And if you mention it to him, he'll tell you that I asked for it... Never mind for asking for "little jelly" on your bagel, he doesn't care, you'll end up with jelly all over your shirt. Forget "light and sweet" coffee its never light or sweet with him. I could say that he is deaf, but he isn't. He just doesn't care about his customers. I will give you a zero stars. we order from this place at least twice a week and they decided to give us a broken box with our pizza inside and the second we take the box from the delivery driver it falls on the floor we call them back to get accommodated for our pie and they say they cant do anything about it. I must agree with Jimmy that this place is pretty straight forward, but I will say stick with the pizza because that's really what they're known for. We don't go there too often because there are better kosher pizza places in other parts of Queens that we can easily drive to, but when I've been, the pizza wasn't too bad but it was INCREDIBLY oily. That to me is a sign of lower quality cheese. If I'm starving and don't want to move the car, it's worth a slice, but otherwise I'd go to Benny's in Fresh Meadows. read more
