This is my Grandma's go-to pizzeria since it's close to her house. I remember her taking me there when I was a kid whenever I would visit her. I ordered ahead online for pick-up on a Saturday, and everything was hot and ready by the time I got there. I ordered a large pie (half cheese/half mushroom), chicken parm hero, penne vodka, and a rice ball. The pizza was pretty solid - they don't skimp on the mushrooms. Chicken parm was fine but could have used a bigger piece of chicken because the bread was too big for it. The penne vodka could have used some more cream because it just tasted like marinara sauce. And finally, the rice ball needed more meat/cheese filling in it - especially since it was $7 a pop. I think next time we order, I would probably just stick to the pizza. read more

Stopped by Alba's Pizzeria while I was staying with my friend and was really impressed by the array of pizzas and the price point! The Sicilian pizza was delicious as it was perfectly thick and airy crust with just the right amount of crisp on the bottom. Guys, I had alba's again for the first time in a year. I was hungry and sick of Chinese and bodega food. I felt like they might get a pepperoni slice right by now because like how bad can it get? The sauce was so gross, it is sweet with a bitter aftertaste. At least the 5 pepperonis helped cover up the flavor of everything. You guys that are giving albas good reviews, please make a trip out to Brooklyn and try some pizza there. It will change your life. Based on my experience today I wish I could have given 0 stars.I've been coming to Albas for over fifty years and customer service is at an all time low.Ever since Jack the owner passed away and Paul moved to Florida things have gotten progressively worse.I make a pick up order over the phone at 4 pm and was told give us 15-20 minutes.I show up at 4:20 and was told ziti is almost ready which I was ok with.I didn't get my food until 4:45 after two trips to the parking meter.What is the point of ordering ahead of time and picking up if you can't get the order done in time? Very good pizza. Have had it numerous times and always good and consistent. The food is also very good. Very large and bright inside but the tables up front are always packed so it's tough to get a table. I've even seen perfect strangers share a table. So it must be worth the wait and conversation! Not only a pizza joint but they have a restaurant as well. The pizza has a seating section and if you want dining, they have a decent size space as well. It's a neat little neighborhood joint. The regular cheese pizza is ok, passable, could use a bit more flavor. Crust is thin and crispy. Good amount of cheese and the tomato sauce was a bit thin. There isn't much pizza around here except for the dominos down the block. Street parking here, there is a lot of residential parking behind the restaurant. read more

They offer a special of 2 slices & pint of draft beer for $10, so I had to try it. Couldn't believe the value. The pizza was great (if a bit greasy) & even the beer was better than I expected. I was there about 4 PM which is not a prime dinner hour but the place was so busy; people coming & going all the time. This pizzeria is definitely one of the better looking pizzerias on queens blvd briarwood. The decor is nice inside the dining area in the back with the brick interior walls.you dont see to many pizzeria like that in NYC any more. The restaurant has tvs on the walls as well , a atm in the front of the shop Cool.The staff was nice and friendly when I ordered me a beef pattie with cheese & coco bread,which had a good taste to it. I will definitely go back in the future with my family when we are in briarwood. The pizza is very good and their Caesar salad is excellent (croutons were delicious!). The delivery service, not so much, our order was 45 minutes late - ordered pizza for a work event and it's embarassing to have my co-workers wait 45 minutes and only have 15 minutes to eat during their 1-hour lunch break. Called the restaurant and the response was "15 minutes!" then 30 minutes passed. Called again, "be there in 10 minutes!" Solid food, but I would opt to dine in or pick it up yourself. read more

I placed an order through Grubhub for Penne A La Vodka with Grilled Chicken, Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken, Margherita Sicilian, Regular Sicilian, and Mozzarella Sticks. Every item was delicious except for the Margherita Sicilian. I was disappointed with the lack of flavor and ingredients. What I received was an overly-thick-fluffy piece of bread with a minimum amount of mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, basil, and olive oil. read more

Place is a hit or miss. Sometimes the pizza is decent. Sometimes the pizza is dry and not heated enough. I go because it's convenient being a few blocks from my house but it's nothing spectacular. The workers are very friendly though and welcoming. read more

I came on the recommendation of a relative. Good family atmosphere, full of families with kids. Several tables and chairs greet you as you enter the store. There is an ATM to the right, next to the Waste basket. A few steps ahead, there is a display glass case with the different types of Pizzas, Calzones, Rolls, Wheels, etc. Everything looks good. I opted for a slice of White Pizza and a Lipton Green Tea Citrus. The Pizza was nice, non- greasy, small slice or maybe average now a days. We have only been to Alba a few times. Most of which were in the front where you pick up a slice of pizza or on one occasion we sat in the back restaurant section and regretted that severely. Tonight things changed. I don't know what made us what to go back in and try it again but we are very glad we did. A lady came over right away, poured us water, and handed us our menus. Our very nice waiter came over shortly thereafter and we told him what we wanted. I ordered the ravioli with mushrooms and it was delicious. I have been going to Albas since I was a little girl and I have to say that their customer service has changed quite a bit! The guys they have working up at the front when you call to place an order for delivery are rude, nasty and obnoxious. They are even worse when the owners are not there. Their delivery guys take forever and when you call to find out where your order is they speak with an attitude like you dont have a right to question where your food is. Not even an apology or an "I'm sorry for the delay. It's really sad. What happened to the authentic Italian pizzerias that valued their customers and cared about their reputation? The quality of the food has even changed as well. I get faster service at dominos or little Caesar's and that's not saying much. read more

I was a bit nervous. I was on a date and we pull up to a pizzeria.....did I dress up to get a slice on a paper plate with foil under my pizza?? Oh no. Walk to the back. This was the true definition of "mom and pop" owned and "old school Italian". Tables all had white tablecloths. There was a small bar and several bottles of wine. The owner was there, in the corner. He greeted us while we came in. Service was impeccable. Lets talk food..... Wow! The food was excellent. Matter fact, I told my date that this was the best Italian I had since my birthday in Vegas and prior to that...in Italy. This was better than where I dined in Little Italy in the Bronx and Manhattan. Unpretentious. Great Food. I got the Angel Hair Sinatra. This was mind blowing. The amount of sauce that was used was favorable. I can't stand when there is not enough sauce for my pasta (especially when the sauce is delicious). We also had garlic spinach with grilled chicken on top. Stay away from the bread. Its soft with a good amount of garlic to it. I just found my favorite local Italian spot. Great for family dinners. I was really hoping to Give the place 5 starts. Unfortunately I was upset when I received the wings. The wings seem to be from a frozen bag and add whatever leftover hot sauce you had left to serve put over the wings. What I'm saying is, your wings could be more freshly made and more quality. The pizza was actually not to bad, but I was hoping for the breaded chicken, not grilled for a chicken francese. The bummer part was the bottem portion. Seemed like they over cook it a bit so you will get a lil burnt taste in some parts of the pizza. So I give it 3 stars. read more

Alba's is a staple in the Briarwood/Jamaica area. I was first introduced to them a couple years ago when my co-worker ordered a pie from there for the office. I snagged the info off the receipt and it quickly became my go-to spot for homestyle fettuccine Alfredo with chicken or shrimp (if I'm feeling fancy). Their pizza is really good with hearty, robust sauce. I usually go for the Margherita slice and a Grandma's Sicilian which is similar to the Margherita but with a garlicky punch. If you need more than pizza to satisfy your grumbling belly then definitely order some pasta. The portions are generous and tasty. To make things better they offer a Pasta Night promotions on Mondays and Tuesdays which includes pasta order, salad, bread and dessert for $10 but you will have to pay extra for meat. The pizzeria staff is pretty solid and welcoming. They are always hooking me up. There is also a seat down restaurant in the back but haven't found a need because I can get everything I want or need up front. read more
