We started with the ravioli, which were a big hit. The adults enjoyed a Greek Salad (regular size) and 4/5 of us the 313 Detroit Style pizza. Our son had the make your own pizza. Other than it coming later than the rest of it due to his decoration, he enjoyed it. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with our experience. Was in the mood for pizza and just happen to be in the area of this spot and I am so so sad I went. Our waitress Emily was very nice and on spot with service. I was happy that a glass of wine was only $5.50! I ordered an antipasta salad which was the good but the pizza was horrible!! I ordered a thin crust all meat pizza and my husband orderes an italian supreme pizza. Mines had no flavor with way too much cheese. My husband pizza was spicy with some flavor but also had way too much cheese. It was like they dropped a pound of cheese in the middle of each pizza. Came in for dinner with my daughters and friends, it wasn't really busy. We were able to get seated immediately. It's a nice quiet family dining spot in my opinion. They have the football games playing on multiple screens. Our server was very nice and attentive. They have an extensive kids menu which is really nice for the little ones.We ordered mozzarella sticks, and michigan burnout boneless wings as an appetizer 10/10. The homemade ranch is 10/10. We pulled up to an empty parking on a Thursday evening which was a little odd but we decided to try it anyway. Our waitress was on top of everything. Even though we were the only family in the establishment it took a long time for our food to come out. We ordered the bacon cheeseburger which was really good. The kiddos ordered chicken wings and spaghetti. My daughter didn't want her meatballs so I tried it and it was a great homemade meatball. Hats off to Pizza Papalis employees for allowing us to dine in the Taverna Banquet Room which was a better seating options for our party of nine plus a toddler. This was very accommodating for two individuals in our party who were both in wheelchairs. It's a win-win for me whenever a restaurant is notably handicapped accessible. Bravo! Thank you Jessica! This room can be reserved for meeting, celebrations and luncheons. I came with an open mind for a birthday party. I was partial to the original locations in Detroit proper, but I was invited, so hey! The waitress was friendly enough. However, I waited a bit to be given water and others had already ordered appetizers, but she never asked when I sat down. Anyhow, the menu was familiar enough so I pretty much knew I was going to have the veggie deep dish pizza and I added a side of boneless wings. We had eaten about half of them when I found a really long blonde hair in my wings. Yuck. I showed it to the waitress and she took them away and offered to remake the order. I accepted it. What I kind of expected was for her or management to take something off of my bill for the hair that clearly belonged to someone other than me. But I paid my bill and left politely. With a bill of almost $50 for two items and the tip, I'd expect hair to be secured in the kitchen, but not here. read more

Everything was great the waitress seemed happy to help. My only regret is that we could not eat more with having another game to play after. So after 6 years in the area I decided to give this place a try and although I didn't order pizza what I did get was amazing!! I ordered two different types of their calzones one was a gourmet and the other was a meat lovers. They came in a ten inch pizza box and are set on an angle and really stuffed with the toppings so much that I don't see how anyone could eat a whole one by themselves in one sitting. It was two meals for both me and my husband. I had never been there before and it is a very nice setup inside and because the food was so tasty we will be looking forward to it again and may come back to eat in the restaurant itself. The server who checked me out was nice and polite about everything and got me the food to go as soon as it came to the window so it was super hot still when I got home with it. She was very nice and I still left a tip cause they depend on those and it's not fair if you don't. She still took my order boxed it up and checked me out just as if I was eating in so why would you not tip? It's not a fast food place and she was nice and even asked if I needed silverware. me and my family went here for some pizza. we sat down to a kind waiter, and we ordered 3 waters. there were little to no people there. the place is nice, cool decor! but we waited for 20-30 minutes straight and no waters to be seen. the waiter had forgotten about us completely. please hire more employees and fix the slow service. while we walked out with no waters, the waiter saw us and started saying "have a good-" but then the waiter realized that she had forgotten about our waters. 1 star. read more

I'm still a loyal customer here and for good reason! I have never had a problem with an order I've placed here, and the employees have always been very nice anytime I've talked to them. I come by and get a medium deep dish Papalis Gourmet pizza about once a month, and although the prices have gone up (like everywhere else), it is still a good deal for a single person like me. It will last me 2 or even 3 days sometimes. And these taste great as leftovers. I eat them right out of the refrigerator! The restaurant itself is pretty empty usually when I get my order. But that's right when they open usually so I understand that. I really hope that this place doesn't close down like some other restaurants in that area, Primanti's being the latest casualty in this economy. I really hope Papalis doesn't end up like that. Well hello there Quality chicago style pizzas. I use to travel to dearborn or downtown detroit to have some good seafood pizza, but now i can and its only 5 minutes away from my house. Plus, it's one of those pizza places where you can order beer as well, so yea... that's what's up. I've seen this very exact spot turn from Fuddschmuckers to American Pie to this guy. And boy was I excited when my bus passed by and I saw that it's now a Pizza Papalis. They did a great job as well, they new booths, tables, light fixtures and they even added a bar that has 313, 734 and Taylor, MI burned in on the ceiling part. That's very cool. Chicago style pizzas are always filling, so we always usually order a medium and that more than enough for two. We even have enough left over to take home with us. The east coaster in me somehow always asks for garlic powder and anchovies to give the pie and extra umph. The staff is great, we can order ahead,, we arrived, we got seated right away. The pizza was very tasty overall. The crust was flaky and buttery, more like Lou Malnati's butter crust than a traditional cornmeal like Gino's East, and had good flavor. Sauce was rich, but lacked a little bright tomato flavor. There was lots of mozzarella - actually a little too much mozzarella and too little pepperoni. It was out of balance.
