I waited almost 40 min to be told that the appetizer I ordered wasn't going to have queso as they ran out. When I spoke to manager his comment was when I complained, that he didn't believe that I was 40 minutes later that I was informed about my appetizer. I even ask the server about my appetizer and she stated it should be on its way as other food items had already came to table. We had a party of around 12 and there food order came out well before I was even notified that they were out of queso. Long story short I should have been notified prior to 40 minutes to inform me that they where out of queso. I told my daughter we never coming back to this location. read more

If you want to eat just the insides, you've got a winner. As to the crust, it tastes like cardboard. One would think they'd know a better way to make a better crust. And it's expensive. $21 for a small. Not worth it to me. read more

So I thought long and hard about doing this review but we were so disappointed. This was our second time there and we go for the deep dish Chicago style pizza. For those who have never been there yet, FYI the pizza does take 40 minutes so get a appetizer to hold you over. This time the pizza came out cold in the middle after waiting all that time. The waitress said they had problems with the oven the day before but has never had anyone complain that there pizza was cold. So instead of waiting again for them to run it through the oven we just took it home and heated it ourselves. We won't go back. Buddy's Pizza in Dearborn is always good and consistent. They opened today. The wife and I went up there today placed an order for the small Deep Dish meat pizza and a couple of sodas. We were greeted and seated right away at first glance the place looks nice. I know that the small pizza would be more than enough food for us so we didn't get any sides. The waitress said that it would be 40 minutes for the pizza which was cool with us so we ordered it. With this added time we noticed that for the place just opening my plastic glass was already chipped it was obviously an old glass probably from a different location as my wife had a new looking glass. Also when you are seated at the table there were already four plates there but they were also old and dated one was worn and said PizzaPapalis on the edges the other three were just plain plates. The TVs were easy to see from where we were seated made the wait go by quickly. The pizza came out at exactly 40 minutes I have to give them props for that as the place was getting pretty busy and the parking lot isn't that big at that location. The pizza was cooked to my liking without any issues. We brought home two of the six slice pizza to enjoy later. I'll be back. I added the part about the cups and plates as I thought everything should of had that brand new look to it. read more

If I could give Zero stars I would! how do you mess up a salad is beyond me! I ordered a antipasto salad and the lettuce was wilted extra wet like they sprayed water on the salad, no meat at all! One tomato and no cheese! Horrible! Ordered wings with it and they were hard and barely sauced! then I called the manager on duty at the time and he tells me he was going to go watch the cameras as if I was lying about the salad being bold and not having meat! Then after he puts me on hold to go watch surveillance as if I needed to lie to get a free meal after I just paid 30$ . he had the nerve to have a attitude! If you can't be a Boss then step down! Authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza. The best we've had hands down. We came on a very busy Saturday night and although there was a wait on tables, they offered to let us order our deep dish (which takes 40 minutes) to get it started. Once we were sat at our table our server was very friendly when she greeted us and brought our drinks and appetizers very quickly despite the restaurant being very busy. The wings are amazing and very affordable for the quality, would highly recommend. My son really enjoyed the breadsticks and salad. Once the pizza arrived we could tell why it took so long and was a tad more expensive than your regular pizza. You could eat one piece and be full and happy with leftovers for the next day. Definitely not your average pizza, wings or service. A must try! read more

I know this review is long-winded but I only do this when I give a restaurant or other service less than 4 stars to explain where they need improvement. My apologies. First off, good service here. They even served us our first slice, which impressed. This was my first time ordering Chicago style deep dish pizza at a restaurant so I really didn't know what to expect as far as how it tastes. I have had their pizza once in the past but it was a slice of the seafood pizza given to me by a friend at work and it was cold.......but it was also pretty good, so I wanted to try this place for myself. We ordered the loaded tots and breadsticks as an appetizer. These were awesome and the breadsticks came with parmesan cheese on them with marinara sauce and queso. We gobbled those down. No improvement needed on the appetizers. We ordered the Papalis gourmet pizza. I wanted to try the seafood one freshly made but my son doesn't like seafood. I have to say, I could eat the Papalis gourmet pizza but my teenage son couldn't. I ordered my son a sub to go and the waitress brought that out in a basket. Not a big deal but kind of made me feel like she was distracted. She corrected her mistake and apologized. She was very polite. They should train their wait-staff to ask if you've ever had their pizza before and also make dining suggestions or recommendations based on your answers. It shows that the restaurant is genuinely concerned that you will enjoy your visit. I don't expect that everywhere but when you serve food that you claim to be "gourmet" and you price it that way, you should ensure that EVERY customer is satisfied. I like feta cheese but it IS a strong tasting cheese and they used too much feta on the Papalis gourmet. It was too strong even for me and I REALLY like feta. I only ate one piece. Feta should be used sparingly on a pizza but it tasted like it was the main ingredient on theirs. You couldn't really taste the other ingredients. My daughter asked me if there was chicken on the pizza, I told her there was but I couldn't really taste it. THAT should have been the ingredient you taste the most of on a pizza like that in my opinion. We took the rest of the pizza home in a box but I'm afraid that it will probably not get eaten. The prices are a little high also....not outrageously high but a little on the high side of reasonable. I might give them another try but I won't order that particular pizza next time. I'll probably get my son carry-out and order their seafood pizza next time. I took away 1 star for the overly strong tasting pizza and another star for the prices. I'll update my review the next time I eat there. read more

This was a huge waste of money. It taste like something you would get from the Gibralter trade center food court at the end of the night. We got a deep dish with bacon, pepperoni, green pepper, and onion, and the meatball appetizer. The crust tasted like frozen GFS pizza crust. It was hard like a cracker and the guts were raw. The meatballs tasted like frozen bag meatballs, and the garlic toast that came with it looked like a smashed toasted BK chicken sandwich bun. I would say save your money. I was told other locations were better, but based on this place I won't waste my money again to check and see. read more

Service was good, the manager who came around, a middle aged woman, with dirty blondish curly hair, was made us feel unwelcomed at when she first sat us, we asked for a booth because we had 2 young children, she seemed to be annoyed to walk us to another table and when she checked on us later, we told her that the pizza was a little cold. Her response was "I guess we can throw it back in the oven". The waiter was more apologetic than her about it. We declined and just brought it home at that point. We were so frustrated with the lack of friendliness from her. Wish it was more like the greektown location. read more

I have been going to the Taylor location for a while now. It was my favorite pizza place. But now it's my least favorite.My pizza box had sauce all over it. It really turned me off from eating the pizza. It seemed like the person whom handled it had dirty hands. I am a very sanitary person and would like to eat from sanitary places.I didn't receive my ranch with my wings.The chicken wasn't good at all. This was a good quality pizza place. Trying this spot for first time. Ordered wings, buffalo sauce, to start and wasn't impressed, no zing to the sauce. Ordered a large pepperoni and sausage Chicago style pizza. Wasn't really impressed with it. Just didn't seem to have much flavor, could barely even tell there was pepperoni on it. Some bites were just mouthfuls of kinda bland cheese.
