    Huckleberry Rolls - Close-up
    Amber G.

I'm going to start this post by saying this...HUCKLEBERRY ROLLS. Nothing else matters. But seriously, these little rolls of goodness get 5 stars for themselves. While the roll itself is a tad bit dry, the frosting makes up for it 100 times over. I wish I bought a third because my husband didn't really want to share. One may ask, "so why 3 stars?" Well, everything I enjoyed stopped there unfortunately. I also ordered a fresh fruit smoothie. It was meh. There were a ton of seeds from the berries and I'm not a fan of getting those stuck in my teeth. Plus, the only available straws were tiny coffee stirrers. A classmate said we had to try the biscuits & gravy. But for my personal taste, not a fan. It had overwhelming amounts of rosemary and the biscuits were pretty dry. The gravy also had more of a soupy, runny texture - there are definitely better options in town. If we come back, we'll probably just stick to the baked goods.

The grateful bread was a cute spot, very small inside but they had good service & good food. Not pictured is the kombucha that was AMAZING!Our food was good too, the sandwiches were packed full!Next time we're in town we will visit again!

Dead & Company... I know you're out there, and wherever you are -- make your way to the Grateful Bread here in Helena MT! Casey Jones would eat at the Grateful Bread... even if he doesn't have much of an appetite because... well, you know why. Me on the other hand, I do have an appetite, and I'm having GB for a second time since I moved here. I sat next to a boomer last time I was here, and he was having the French Dip -- I assured him I'd go for it the next time I came back and here we are. They bake some amazing pastries and desserts. Without the emoji of a cactus or cake popping up after trying to spell, "desserts", I can't remember which spelling is which. We'll see what dessert I decide to leave with today, in the meantime come check this place out if you haven't. It's poppin'

So, The first time I came here I was so excited to try out the place and the breakfast sandwich did not disappoint. I had the breakfast sandwich on their sourdough bread which was amazing! This time I had the same breakfast sandwich on two of their "biscuits" First of all the San Francisco sourdough bread, the egg, cheese, and sundried tomato worked beautifully together and the customer service was great as well. Now, let's talk about these so-called biscuits. Huge, dry, dense, has too much baking powder, and not fluffy, and lacks flavor. The place was very loud today as well which made working difficult, to say the least. I also substituted the sausage for chicken on one "biscuit" the sandwich was still too dry to eat! Ended up just eating the protein off the sandwich and throwing the "biscuits" in the trash. I will try this place again and have a plain biscuit the next time. The ones I had were like an onion and chive or a spinach biscuit. Either way, they were Gross!

Slowly Helena is adding top shelf neighborhood eateries to its ancient tradition of good neighborhood bars. Across from the iconic Jester's bar on Rodney Street is this superb breakfast/brunch/lunch place. It is a bakery with all sorts of tasty pastries and coffees to go. But order at the counter and go take a seat. Slow down a bit and enjoy this casual, friendly cafe. Recommend the breakfast bacon burrito--pressed to give it crunch--and a latte. Friends love the chicken sandwich. Salads are available too. Such a enjoyable vibe, excellent food, even better caoffees. And it's on Rodney Street, away from the suits and tourists.

Consistently amazing food and great service. I am so glad they are in our Hood. Try the ham and cheese croissant, if you are lucky enough to get one.

Amazing and delicious pastries! Very friendly service ! Got five different things from the pastry case, all were fresh and delicious! Han and cheese croissant was so tasty and still warm when I got it! Raspberry cream cinnamon roll was fantastic too! Fun theme and branding, highly recommend overall!

One of the BEST breakfast sandwiches I have had in a long time! Everything is homemade and you can tell it's made with love. This quaint little bakery provides a comfortable atmosphere that could be used for studying, solo eating, or enjoying food with friends. Excellent friendly customer service as well! If you want bakery goodies I'd recommend getting their early. Would definitely recommend and definitely be back!

I was in town for a wedding and stopped by the bakery cafe for some lunch. The service was prompt and courteous, and food was delicious! I had a vegetarian sandwich, which was crisp and tasty. My partner got the candied garlic (yum!!) wedge salad. Both were terrific, and very affordable for the quality. Stop by this spot for a casual, lovely lunch in Helena.

The ambiance was very minimalist, and the dining room was basically empty when we arrived. Again, the food looked better than it tasted. There was nothing objectively wrong with the food, it was just not great if that makes sense. The chicken on the chicken and waffles was crispy, hot, and fresh but the flavor just wasn't there. The breading was good but that is where the flavor stopped. The waffle was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and they even used real maple syrup! But again the flavor was just lacking for some reason. We ended up taking half of our food home with us which is NEVER a good sign. I might give this place another shot on a different day. Also, the coleslaw on the chicken sandwich had no flavor which made the sandwich even less impressive. Nothing to see here in my opinion.

The atmosphere feels homey, casual, and welcoming, with an extensive menu that makes it almost impossible to decide what you want. I originally planned on ordering breakfast, but at the last minute, the club sandwich caught my attention, and I'm so glad I changed my mind. The sandwich came stacked with ham, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo between three slices of perfectly toasted bread. It was fresh, filling, and absolutely delicious. Every layer worked together, and the bacon gave it that extra flavor and crunch that took it over the top. I chose tater tots for my side, and they were crispy, golden, and exactly what I wanted alongside such a hearty sandwich. The portion was generous, too, so you definitely won't leave hungry. Another thing I appreciated was how clean the restaurant was, including the restroom. For a place that's open 24 hours, that stood out to me. Overall, Shellie's gave me good food, generous portions, and a comfortable hometown atmosphere. I'd happily come back although next time, I might actually try the breakfast!

Once I saw it on the menu I had to get the GIGANTIC PRETZEL (GP). It was gigantic and it was a pretzel. Great crispy outside and soft warm perfectly cooked inside. Get it, you won't regret it. We all loved it and the queso and hot mustard were a great match. I had the wings, buffalo sauce, and it came with fries. Both were really good. So much food I only ate 4 wings and 1/2 the fries. GP still weighing heavy in my gullet! The Wife had the Classic Mac and Cheese - nice taste but Luke warm instead of hot. Should have sent back to warm up. Her choice. The Kid had the brisket sandwich and garlic parm fries. The sandwich was so big., she ate 1/2 and hardly touched her fries. The fries were delish, as I had to sample a couple for review purposes. The Friend had a Buffalo chicken salad and The Other Friend had enchiladas. Both enjoyed their meals and had leftovers as the servings are generous. Great Time. Great Food. Great Service. Go! We got waters by 6:15. We put in our food order when we got the waters. Couple of mocktail refresher drinks that never got finished because they tasted like they were half tabasco, but given we didn't see the server for the next 45m there wasn't much to be done about those. We got food at 7:05 - more than an hour after we were seated. No "sorry for the wait," no nothing. Mercifully, they only got three out of our five orders wrong. Grandma got fries instead of the side salad she ordered. Her sandwich didn't come on the pretzel bun like the menu said. Wife didn't get the guacamole ordered with her fish tacos. My Montana Dip sandwich looks like it had been thrown at the plate, angrily. I finally found the bacon that was supposed to be on it underneath the sandwich and fries. I literally had to reassemble it myself since nobody was coming back to the table. It took another 10 minutes to get the server to come back to our table. By then, of course, our food was all cold. No apology for that either. Finally got a water refill though. Won't be back, don't waste your money on this crap.
