A large pizza half loaded and half pesto primavera.

Love this place. We eat pizza here whenever we are in town. This time we got a large and did half and half. Half of the pesto primavera and the other half of the large the loaded. So delicious, very generous with the toppings beautifully presented as always. This place never disappoints. And the staff is so friendly the restaurants and restrooms are very clean. We highly recommend the pizza shack.

    This was real good pie.

Had lunch here today with family. Everyone ordered 1/2 sandwiches except me...the black sheep. Heck, it was my first time here and it's a pizza joint...duh, order a pizza. Of course the 1/2 sandos didn't fill up my cuz or the parents, they finished up my pizza! Real good pie, It was loaded and real nice staff.

$48 for 2 small pizzas and a large salad... to go... yikes!... need I say more?... Nothing stellar or earth shattering about the pizzas, had quite better crust and topping combinations elsewhere for much, much less... But, it is SYV and your choices are limited.... but still...

Game two of The World Series finds me heading to Chumash Casino to emcee The Wheel of Winners. Last week, while eating some Chumash pizza (which is exceptional by the way), one of the casino guests asked me how "it was"... I said "great". He said Have you tried "Pizza Shack"? I said "nope, where's that"? Turns out it's across the street from the casino. So, I popped in on my may to work, I ordered up a personal cheese pizza and an apple & Gorgonzola salad. The salad is fresh, cold, crisp, and delicious. The honey vinaigrette dressing is on point and I like that they serve it on the side. The Granny Smith apples are paper thin and perfect. The walnuts are a bit sweet at first but plentiful and they offset the saltiness of the gorgonzola cheese perfectly. My only critique on the salad is; the plate is a bit small. The portion is perfect but it's tricky eating this salad without spilling goodness off of the plate. Other than that, perfect! As for the pizza, I should point out that I'm a grown man but very often, especially at a new place, I like to try a simple cheese pizza. In fact, all pizzerias can be judged very easily by their most simple dishes. This pizza is good. The crust is very unique. One slice down and I'm trying to decide what my opinion of it is. It's kinda "bready"... not "doughy" but kinda flat like a pita. It's not bad really. The flavor is good and the edges are crispy. I have most definitely had worse. If fact a different sized pie may be come out better. This is a personal pizza and it's on a plate and, without breathing like it would in a pizza pan, it has steamed itself and taken the crispness away from the bottom of the pie. Still though very good. I'll be back!

Primavera pizza, in medium. Delish!! (Delivery on 4/1/14)

Consistently tasty and reliable. We like the vegetarian pizza( although we add sausage) and their apple walnut salad.

Good pizza, decent wings. It's a nice small town pizza place and they are always friendly. A little pricey but worth it.

The staff was so attentive to my mom, who's 90th birthday we were celebrating. The staff was busy with us and the other patrons, so I didn't get their names. Our waiter gave great suggestions. The kitchen was timely and all our food was delivered hot! The interior was warm and cozy. Thank you for a great birthday celebration!

This is a review based on how a private event was handled. I would have given 1 star based on just…read morethe event but the food was decent so I'll give this place two stars instead of one. I would never book an event at this venue. First, there are two separate rooms connected by a hallway. Apparently the host of the event was not notified there was another party going on in the backroom. This normally wouldn't have been a problem except the food from the kitchen had to be brought through our party. Not enjoyable when we are all starving and the food keeps being brought through our room to another party instead of to ours. Unfortunately, it gets worse: I put in a simple order for my kids: 2 buttered spaghetti dishes. The head waitress put the order in on the computer (at least that's what it looked like). Ok so 10 minutes go by and still no spaghetti. My kids are starving so I ask nicely about the spaghetti and the waitress brushes me off and says it's on the way. What made me really mad was when another kid received his ravioli that was ordered 10 minutes after my order. And we still didn't have our spaghetti! At that point I was pretty upset so I asked the waittess if the pasta was being made because an order after me just came through. Instead of admitting she forgot my order (which was obvious) the waitress gaslighted me and said our orders were placed at the same time. I was with the other person who ordered the ravioli and he definitely put his order in well after mine. After about 30+ minutes my kids just ate the bread and gave up. The spaghetti finally came out and no one touched it. The waitress didn't apologize for the wait or anything. She just placed the spaghetti on the table and walked away. I've never been gaslit by a waitress in my life. Worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. I will never come back here again.

The vibe was pleasant and a little bit fancy. No lowly brunch menu here--we had raw fish, medium rare steak, and red wine. I suppose not everyone wants all that before dinner. Nella is an attractive restaurant at the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn. The dining room looked charming, but we opted to sit on the patio, which was comfortable and breezy. Service was great, attentive and prompt. We were in and out in an hour, as planned, but we could've lingered longer. The food was delicious, starting with the $9 bread and butter--French baguette with a bright yellow block of salted Bordier butter. The salmon crudo was fresh and silky, finished with Fresno chile, citrus, passion fruit, avocdao mousse, calamansi vinegar, and fresh basil. My favorite dish, though, was the spring salad, a vibrant assembly of Tutti Frutti Farms sugar snap peas, fava beans, kumquats, calamansi pickled red onions, arugula, pecorino, and rosé vinaigrette. I don't typically go for salads without meat, but this one was superb. For our entrées, we shared a Margherita pinsa and the filet mignon. The pinsa was an airy flatbread, topped with San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, basil, and sea salt. The prime cut filet was flavorful and satisfying, cooked a tender medium rare and served with yu choy and green peppercorn sauce. We ordered two Italian reds by the glass, which went well with everything, but especially with the steak. The Grosjean Vallee d'Aoste, a Gamay , and the Clos Venturi Vin de Corse "1769," a Sangiovese Sciaccarellu blend. I'd been to SY Kitchen once before and plan to go to whatever restaurant the group is about to open up in Montecito. These people obviously know what they're doing. We had a lovely lunch at Nella Kitchen & Bar and would recommend it to anyone visiting Los Olivos.

The restaurant decor is nice, though nothing special, with a sizeable patio for outdoor dining. We started with a couple of local wines by the glass. The wine list here is heavily biased towards local wines as one would expect from a wine country restaurant. Kudos for the local focus! The menu here is wine country, farm-to-table and the restaurant even has their own organic farm a short distance away where they source ingredients. For dinner we started with the beet salad special served over a citrus yogurt. For main courses we had the grilled rack of lamb and a quinoa bowl with salmon. Every dish was expertly prepared and delicious. The fruits and veggies were exceptionally fresh being sourced directly. David was our server and coincidentally was our server at a wine tasting earlier in the day. His service and that from the supporting team were professional and friendly. The positive first: walking in everybody was super friendly and greeted us with a smile, and sat us down right away on the patio since we had our dog with us. We ordered the baked brie appetizer and two glasses of red wine. My husband had the Austin Hope Cab and I had a red blend. I don't remember the brand name. It was a little bit expensive for a glass of wine. I wanna say around $25 but we both were in the mood for a good wine and wanted to treat ourselves. The baked Brie was delicious. Negative: the fish and chips and the service. I was so excited to see fish and chips on the menu because it was halibut. I'm used to cod in fish and chips so of course I had to order since I am a huge halibut lover. The table next to us also said what an amazing meal that was and ordered one to go. We received our fish and chips from not our server and the person dropped the meal and left without asking us if we needed anything. My husband and I looked at the fish and chips and immediately started laughing. It looked like little fish nuggets as opposed to fish! I kind of thought we were being punked. We waited and waited for the server to come by or a manager or some thing and could not get anybody to come talk to us. It took 14 minutes for her to finally come tap on our table and ask if everything was OK. We told her it was not OK and to look at the size of the fish and she said she would go tell the kitchen and asked if we wanted to remake it. At that point, we weren't even hungry anymore. We were just kind of annoyed at the entire situation. She comes back out a few minutes later and says we're going to take it off of your bill. We don't see her for a while and then the manager comes over and says we took it off of your bill. He didn't ask if there's any way to make it right he just said OK anyways and walked away at the end. Being in the restaurant industry for many years, I thought this was pretty offensive. If I were him, I probably would have made another one right away or offered something they are known for like their pizza. So overall, I wouldn't be back. I think there's many other restaurants around there and to be treated like that after how we were served....no thank you!
