You can really feel that it's a family-owned spot that's been around for years. We also loved the new location. The food was all delicious. There were four of us, and we shared a couple of appetizers, a bottle of local wine from Ampelos, and a few dishes. Not pictured, but the lasagna was incredible--it's definitely my new go-to. The portion is huge, so be ready to share or take leftovers home. My husband had a chicken pasta dish and loved it as well. Everything was great, and you truly feel like family here. I came here with some colleagues for dinner and it was a good time. It kind of looked like a speakeasy with the cafe in the front and you walk down an alley to the restaurant part. That was really cute. I can't remember our servers name but he was great. He was very enthusiastic sans made great banter with my colleagues and I throughout the night. I ordered the chicken Parmesan with the bolanese and it was really good. Very well seasoned and was a good portion size! We also had the fried calamari and those were tasty as well. They are getting ready to move this weekend so the style of the room is unimportant. The music and the ambiance felt perfectly old school italian. The food was yummy! We ordered the chicken piccata with a side of spaghetti with garlic and olive oil and the fettuccine with clams. Both dishes came with a side salad. The salad and dressing were delicious. The dressing tasted homemade. Portions were huge and prices were pretty reasonable. The chicken piccata was good though I sensed it may have been made with meyer lemons? I personally hate meyers. They taste a bit more like an orange than a lemon, though some people love them. So i admit this is a matter of personal taste. The chicken was perfectly cooked and nicely breaded and seasoned. The spaghetti was delicious though i wish i had been offered fresh parmesan with it. I did eventually flag down a server who did bring out some but by then I was half finished. The linguini with clams was absolutely perfect. The bread and butter were tasty and complimentary which is nice nowadays. I ordered a Valentine's Day special m; stew over couscous and it was lukewarm with very cold spots here and there. Honestly, after the first 5 minutes, I was just wondering how long it would take for them to pick up the phone again. Husband and I went for date night on a Friday night and over all the experience was below average. The service was interesting to say the least except for one server that seemed to be the only one working because everyone else was there to chit chat with a table of people that seemed to be friends of the owner. For the prices the service was not Great. We left with a weird feeling of not getting the service we expected since we had heard so much about this place. The food was good except for the clam chowder my husband ordered that at first we were told they didn't have and made him pick something else and then it turns out they did have it and we got it served cold. No water was served and when asked for a refill of our drinks we got presented with canned sodas and ice instead of them actually refilling them. It looks fancy and nice when you walk in but overall I think staff improvements need to be made. And improvement of customer service. I don't think we will be returning to the restaurant. There's a bar if you want to watch the game, they can arrange tables for larger groups and small tables for a nice date night. FOOD: Veal Pasta (Recommend) Deeeelicious! How can I explain? The sauce's texture was fairly creamy that was slightly sweet and seasoned. The veal was tender and flavorful, I liked how the pieces were sliced with a balance of meat and fat. The mushrooms provided a pleasant umami texture to it. The pasta complimented the veal pretty well. The noodles were soft and mixed well with a simple alfredo sauce that was fairly balanced with thick cream, butter, and cheese. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Mandy served us and she was nice. Attentive, professional, and friendly. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Fantastic! Delicious food, reasonable prices, and a nice family charm. Our table was not setup meaning no silverware, no napkins, no salt and pepper and had to for each thing. No one waited on us for quite a while. Wine selection was the best feature but food was bland and felt like it was microwaved in the kitchen.
