I would like to comment on the review that is following this post. I was here at the same time and that is not how it occurred. They were busy and did the best they could to help this table. They were here from 5:15-5:50. (I know this because we arrived before them and left after they did). The waitress was very sweet and tried the best she could. Met my daughter and grand daughter for dinner at 5 P.M. Come in and sat down. Waitress took our order and everything seemed fine at the time. Fast forward. Salad was brought out snd drinks. Then the wait. Finally the waitress comes and says pizza was taken to wrong table and that they are making us a new one. She said she'd bring us some bread sticks in the mean time. I guess I didn't jump up and down over the bread sticks, so then I got attitude from our waitress/co-owner. Asked for a refill on my drink and got the eye roll. We finally had enough and still no pizza after 45 minutes so we decided to leave. I did pay for my salad and drink...which I feel was b.s. Attempted to talk with someone about what occurred and was told that I gave attitude first so our waitress gave attitude back and "didn't know we wouldn't like breadsticks". I attempted to address that I wasnt given an option on if i could wait for another pizza just told what was happening amd that I started it. now here I am at bedtime for a 2 year old and no dinner. In the end there was no resolution, no accountability on their part, just blame and giving us the "attitude we gave back". Congratulations on losing a frequent customer, we will find a new location or place to get pizza from now on. read more

We always love pizza shoppe and the quality of their food. Service was great as always, but this time we were left a little disappointed with the quality. We ordered the oven toasted sandwich for carry out, with pizza and salads. When we got home we discovered the sandwich was not toasted, just standard white bread. Their online ordering system also didn't work, had to call in to place our order which is totally fine, but if you indicate online ordering as an option it should be in working order or removed from the site completely. read more

Pizza Shoppe has been a local KC chain for over 50 years and that in itself is impressive. The pizza is less than impressive in my opinion - well behind the other major local chain - Minsky's and many other mom and pop pizza joints, yet still miles ahead of the national chains. What PS does impress with is their signature "Pink Stuff" dressing. A pink thick creamy garlicy topping that can be purchased in grocery stores also. The stuff will make you want to lick the serving containers. If your going to order a pizza make sure to get a salad also. I love the Big Shoppe Salad or the BLT Salad that I had today. Incredibly mediocre.... We just moved to Kansas City and are outsiders so we don't have any bias about the local pizza shops around here. I ordered pizza over the phone and was told it would take 25-30 min. When I went to pick up the pizza, it looked like it was sitting there for about 15 getting old. A couple of guys behind the counter just looked at me and went back to what they were doing. Finally some lady came up from somewhere in the dining area to help me. We ordered a '1/2 specialty pizza' 1/2 pepperoni pineapple. It was more like 2/5 specialty and 3/5 pep/pine. Since we paid the full price for a specialty, you think they would at least make it 1/2 and 1/2 like we ordered instead of skimping. They also go light on the cheese even when the description on the website says that they put on extra cheese on the specialty pies. The crust is thin. Like almost a cracker. I get that is simple preference and I don't think you can order it another way, but I don't know for sure. The other pizza was just pineapple and I saw like 3 pieces of pineapple on it. Skimping on the toppings on both pies. It's not terrible pizza, but it's not really that good either. It's just MEH. I didn't get to try their "world famous pink stuff". Some garlic sauce/dressing as they didn't give us any worth the pizzas though it's written on the pizza box. It wasn't even offered. One of my friends loves this place. Anytime she gets to choose where we eat, this is her choice. She and I are opposites on literally everything lol. I really thought we could like the same restaurant and find some common ground but nope. I tried very hard to like this place. It's just not my cup of tea. My kids were never impressed either. Staff was decent I think but I always have issues from dirty cups/silverware to food being gross. We've been served super burnt food and cold food. They don't replace soda syrups in the machine enough that the sodas are never good. I am one that never speaks up when there is an issue. I did here once because it should have been an easy fix but instead we just kept having issues and it was never worth it to complain. I honestly can't name anything good. Well...Pizza Shoppe sent me a squirter bottle with a cheap pop off lid that wouldn't stay on. I can't mail that and it would be spoiled by the time it reached her. When I called the manager, Patrick, and told him that I needed to exchange it for the regular bottle and I could come by in a couple of days to exchange it he told me that i had to bring it in that same day. I was at work and my car was in the shop. That's why I ordered Doordash. He wouldn't exchange it. I had to throw the bottle away and my friend didn't get any and i am out the money. The order was received and confirmed. When I went to pickup the restaurant was closed and locked. I called the phone number with no answer. The next day I called again and they answered and stated due to weather they was closed. I told them about placing the order and they stated all orders that were placed were cancelled. But my CC was charged anyway on the 9th of Jan. for $34.64. I called the business again and they said my account would be credited within 4 to 5 days..Never was. I tried to contact Heartland but that's impossible. I have contacted the manager several times and he assured me he would get it resolved and would get back with me...He never has. I've turned it over to BBB and they won't do any thing to help. even though they literally stole my money refusing to refund. So as a last resort I've reported this to my CC company. read more

So, it was a Saturday night when I found myself out and about, looking for some place to get a quick bite to eat I stopped by my local pizza shop. Not hungry enough to dive into a full-size pizza I decided to go with a sandwich. And the sandwich I chose what is an Italian Super Sub, consisting of Genoa Salami, ham and pepperoni layered with cheddar and mozzarella, served open face on a hoagie roll with lettuce, tomato, red onion and Italian dressing on the side. Love this place, Kansas City Pizza at it's finest besides Minskys. We went with the Chicken Pizzas and both are great! The crust is a mix between thin crust like St.Louis style on the flat of the pizza and a hand tossed like curl on the end. That italin salad though, well worth the money for the size! My husband picks up our King pizza half roundtable half cheese where 3/4 of the pizza was cheese, and a side salad that was so wilted with 2 pieces of dried up pepperoni, it must have been from the previous nights and the best is they don't even check to see it before bagging it, McDonalds has a better side fresh salad then this bagged salad mix . Very disappointed with Pizza Shoppe this time and the last time we order queen pizzas they were so good, so I thought we try it again. Boy was I wrong! We ordered two king size pizzas and one queen along with four salads (three house/Shoppe salads and one grilled chicken salad). We also requested a few extra ranches and a few extra little cups of "pink stuff". When my wife got the food home, we found out that they had not provided the extra dressings or a dressing that was supposed to be included with the grilled chicken salad. Annoying but not a huge deal. I called back up and talked to a really nice woman who apologized and sat aside some dressings for us. My wife went up and got them since it was her salad that was missing the dressing. Right as my wife got back we realized that the third pizza that was supposed to be a queen was actually a king and had the completely wrong toppings on it. I called up to the restaurant and once again talked to the nice woman who apologized and was very empathetic. She handed me off to her manager Alec who was far from apologetic or empathetic. I told him that I didn't think that we should have to drive back up there again just because they can't fill a simple order. I told Alec that I would either like them to bring me the correct pizza or I will drive up there to get it but I would like a refund. He told me they couldn't deliver because their insurance wouldn't cover it, which I understood completely. He told me he would refund me just for the pizza if I brought the incorrect one back. I arrived back at the restaurant with the incorrect pizza and after standing around waiting for a minutes Alec made his way over to me and started a refund on the pizza. I told him I also wanted the grilled chicken salad refunded too since they didn't give us the dressing originally. He grudgingly agreed. 15 minutes later I left with a refund and a new pizza. Never once did I get an apology from this so called manager even though we had to make multiple trips to the restaurant, taking time away from being together as a family and with our guests. I had no idea this place existed until yesterday when BF suggested lunch before a marathon of shopping errands. When we walked in, we had the run of the place. It was sadly empty while we were there. The interior is classic 70s/80s pizza pub. Lots of wood, booths - it felt like a Shakey's, if you've been to one of those. The server was very nice and quite attentive, which was good, since we were the only two in the place. I ordered a cheese deluxe pizza, in "prince" size, a 9" and added artichoke hearts. It was excellent. Garlicky and uber cheesey, with feta and fresh mozzarella rounds. Yummy. The 9" was enough for 2 meals for me. I just finished the last of it for breakfast. BF ordered the Original Roundtable prince - Hamburger, pork sausage, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, green pepper, mushrooms, black olives, onion and extra mozzarella. He enjoyed it, but also took a couple slices home. They have sandwiches and lots of salads, albeit meaty salads. Overall, good food in Liberty. read more

If you love a thinner style type crust pizza then this is it. It's lighter and has great flavor. We love that it's not heavy, not greasy and won't leave you feeling like you've over eaten. We can't even stomach some of the other pizza places and always eat here. Not bad, but nothing to get excited about. We were looking for someplace we hadn't tried along restaurant row in Liberty. I'm not a big fan of soda cracker crust pizza's like we used to get all over the San Joaquin Valley. Give me a Chicago-style pizza any day. We got the "Butcher Block" pizza. I thought the "Queen" pizza was small for the money. On Tuesdays you can get a second "Queen" for 99 cents. That would be more worth the $$. Though this restaurant is only a couple years old, the decor is pretty consistent with the Pizza Shoppe we used to hang out at in Olathe in the late 70's and early 80's. I've been 3 times for after-work get togethers. The pizza tastes like frozen pizza. Seriously. The sauce is like ketchup. Not much selection or variety of other foods.
