Sorry to say. This place is now terrible. Sal is a great guy but seems to be overwhelmed now and the food is suffering. I have gotten a burned pizza from there twice now and had to return it. I don't mean properly charred, I mean, burnt. Why is he microwaving heroes ?? This destroys the bread and render it in edible within 10 minutes. The young guy who sometimes answers the phone there has zero personality and is almost sub-verbal. Everything in the place is old, worn out and filthy. Sad. read more

If you don't mind the little hole in the wall back in the day pizza shop, then this is definitely a hit! It took me back to back in the day when I was in school just looking for a slice with my friends. The food was amazing and I got basically one of each item while I was there. I got to talk with one of the workers and they never treated me like I was just an old person but kind of like a local. This is the first review that I've ever done. This was, quite honestly, the worst pizza that I've ever had. I ordered a Margherita pie which was supposed to have fresh tomatoes, basil and mozzarella. What i got looked like a soupy mess of a pie with no discernible fresh tomatoes or fresh mozzarella. It was so wet that the owner (?) told me not to tilt the box or it would spill over. For some strange reason, it seemed like there was vodka sauce on the pie. I have never seen a margherita pie look or taste this bad. The attached picture doesn't convey just how bad this was. In addition, there was what appeared to be a grandma pie for sale in the counter that was burnt to a crisp. I'm not sure who would buy a slice of pizza with a black crust? Sorry for the bad review, but this pizza parlor is past its prime. read more

Stopped by here because I was craving pizza and it satisfied my cravings. I will say that the pizza is the best thing at this small pizza shop. The pasta and soup I ate were not the best but the pizza was amazing. I would definitely come back to try more types of pizza! The workers are very nice people too which is always a plus! read more

1 word: Focaccia! Get this as a square pie to go and you won't be disappointed. My family moved not far from this pizzeria when I was in my late teens and it hasn't changed much. On a recent trip to my parents they happened to order this pie and it is absolutely amazing. So when my mom asked what I wanted for my birthday dinner when I come to visit, I quickly knew it would be this pie. Big chunks of plum tomatoes, garlic, cheese top an airy fluffy crust that somehow is also crisp on the edges. Although this is one of my favorite pies of all time (and that's saying something from someone who names Spumoni Gardens as number #1) their other slices are not to be overlooked! One of my best finds thanks to Yelp. There's a reason this place has been here since 1969 Most delicious and fresh tasting slice of Brooklyn square Crust was perfect texture with flavor, and not at all oily. Good quality cheese with lots of sauce that does not taste like paste. Regular slice and Sicilian were very good So nice talking with the man working there about Italy, etc. Just an all around great place with best pizza I've had yet on LI. read more

Hallelujah for Pizza Stop! We travelled to Ronkonkoma for a slice at one of our top faves (Little Vincent's), then relized this is close by with excellent reviews. Decided to give it a whirl ans we were blown away! Place is small and no frills but the older Italian gentleman was wonderful and made us feel almost like family. We liked the fact they had a nice variety of special pies ready for the taking :) Sampled a plain slice and garlic knot slice and we couldn't stop raving about iit even during our drive home. Sauce for the regular slice is smooth with traditional flavors, you can tell quality of the ingredients, complimented by the cheese topping. Then their crust was simply stellar - crisp thin vessel for all the yumminess in the bite. Garlic knot slice did not disappoint as well. Can't wait to come back to try their other pies, then if there is consistency we've considered adding Pizza Stop to our shortlist of top 10 best pizza! read more

Not from the area, but decided to stop in this small store front, while driving by. I had 2 slices with black olives. What a great amount of olives - generously covered the slice. Nice crisp crust. Best stuffed garlic knots ever! Super friendly staff, every time! Our favorite place!

This is our local pizza place hands down. There are quite a few others in the area, but pizza stop is tried and true, the best pie for miles around. The place looks and feels 50 years old, and the crew behind the counter are old-school Italians (they even speak it to each other). Their practiced hands make pies all day, while talking to customers and conducting business, as easily as breathing. There's something comforting in that. They've just been doing their thing for years, and it's a great thing, and people appreciate it and keep coming back. We only ever get their regular pie, with various toppings like mushroom, pepperoni etc. They have other options but we always just stick with the classic. The garlic knots aren't the best I've ever had, but pretty good and we get them on the regular. They're also true to their wait times. If they say 15 minutes, that pie will be coming out of the oven at the 14 minute mark. One caution- they're largely a cash only business, but they do take plastic, if you're willing to pay an extra fee. Make sure to stop at the ATM beforehand. read more

Overall, the pizza was just okay. The establishment is pretty filthy and nothing ever seems to be cleaned. My biggest problem with this place is that their pies are tiny compared to most other pizzerias on the island for the price. Worth the extra few minutes to head over to Gino's for a quality slice. read more

First time I ever came here I thought the name Pizza Stop was kind of odd. Since that first visit I stopped thinking it was odd and always just indulged in pizzeria godliness. My favorite thing is the Chicken Panini on the Focaccia bread he makes on Tuesdays. It's grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, and roasted red peppers with balsamic on thin, crunchy, garlicky focaccia. So delicious! Also a side of 4 garlic squares with a cup of sauce. Oh my I die and goto Heaven every time I have this. The pizza especially the meatball or pepperoni or plain is phenomenal. I mean this guy shaves his meatballs and puts it on top of the pizza. His pepperoni gets so well done it curls up. Also, if you fancy pinwheels they're good too. I'm more into the broccoli pinwheel myself. Come here and get a meatball slice or a Chicken Panini you won't regret it! read more

It's a paper plates plastic cutlery kind of place and not much to look at from the outside. So don't get put off by that. Overall, the choices for singles slices of pizza was fairly limited to plain and pepperoni so that could be better.
