This was exactly the pizza I'd been jonesing for... cheesy, gooey, the right proportions of cheese and sauce, excellent seasoning, and hot enough to burn the roof of my mouth (which is something I don't get out west). Looking for a cheesy, saucy, classic NY style slice? When in Ronkonkoma try Marco Polo! This pizzeria took me by surprise. The place is very clean and the decor has a kind of vintage nostalgia. Kind of reminds me of a place I used to go to on Court Street in Brooklyn. The slice was crispy and tasty like I like it. The sauce had the right amount of flavor, not too salty but not bland. The cheese was gooey like I like it. One of the workers was very friendly and I appreciate when someone says hello and is helpful. The calzones looked good so I took one to go with ham and a cup of sauce. It was very tasty. The ricotta was so creamy and it reminded me of my Zia's Barese calzones! Ok, so... Born and raised in NY (Huntington), and grew up on the best pizza in the country, all over the island and city. So we're pretty much accustomed to and expect good or at least decent pizza pretty much anywhere we go in NY, knowing that some are just better than others... The pizza in this place is something you would expect to get in the mid west somewhere, but not NY. Absolutely the worst pie I'v had, and the Sicilian was burnt and hard as a rock. Also, the owner/manager/counter guy, etc, had zero personalities. I'm only reviewing the plain slice. I am a vegetarian and unfortunately a fat one and this is probably because I eat pizza a number of times per week. I am a community health nurse so I get lunch on the run a lot so pizza is a go too! I grew up in Queens so I know good pizza!!! Anyone who grew up in one of the 5 Burroughs in the 70's and 80's I believe can probably say that! Pizza is personal so based on my preference I give this place pretty high scores. The crust was thin and just cracked when my slice was folded ( I love it crispy like that so I always say "extra hot"). The cheese was real I know by taste but those oily orange drippings would be a good look for if you couldn't tell. It had the right amount of sauce to cheese ratio and would have received 5 stars if it had a bit more salt ( but not too much)! I think New Park Pizza of Howard Beach is my very favorite which I give a 5 but a 4 is worth eating again read more

Usually the regular pepperoni pie is decent but not worth the review. This time we got a Sicilian pie and didn't bother checking it because of our previous experience. I wish I would have checked it because the pie crust was burnt, black all around and most of the bread was dry. The cheese was extremely salty and the sauce was unremarkable. I was starving and looking for a slice, saw Marco Polo in strip mall and have it a shot. As soon as I walked in I thought I was in trouble. It was dead as a door nail during the heart of lunch time and the pizza looks like it was sitting for hours. Got the pizza , 2 slices and a can of soda for $6.25. The whole pies are not bad - about standard for an LI pizza joint. I've had their pies on four separate occasions, and they were consistent. The slices... I won't be getting slices again. Knots are nice and garlicky. Unless you're hard up for a piece of pizza RIGHT NOW and are in front of Marco Polo, I'd keep going. Possibly one of the best pies I've ever had. Pie has nice thick crust and great tasting sauce. I was very surprised how good the pies are. Do not judge a place by the looks of it, because this place has some of the best food I have eaten. Staff is very nice and can't do enough to make sure you are satisfied. Was in area for a wedding and was staying at a local hotel. Needed lunch so wife and I went for a drive and found this dump.....decided to order an eggplant parm to spilt is nice we had a reception to go to that evening. Was told 15 minutes, was during lunch rush but almost all were walk ins getting slices etc. nothing really coming from kitchen. After close to 25 minutes went to counter and asked where it was. He got belligerent and said look how busy.... Then said I told you 15..I responded but that was almost 25 ago. As discussion went on his times were then "I said 15-20".....then it was "I said 20".....I asked for $$ back then he said no here's sandwich.....as he put it on counter.....1/2 was looking 'well toasted' the other 1/2 was down right BURNT!!!! Would advice everyone to stay away from this dump......you don't need to be Italy an to know how to run a pizzeria but you do need to have some customer service skills....learned a lesson....will pay when I get my food NOT when ordering!!!! read more

New to the area and looking for a pizza spot and came across this one and happily suprised by quality and taste of the pizza. I was first taken back by 2.50 a slice but I had the square slice and will be back to try the regular and all the specialty slices.
