Had a delicious dinner here with my better half. When we arrived it was empty, so we weren't sure what to expect. But we really did have a great dinner. To start, we had fried calamari. It was very delicious and fresh! The marinara sauce was very flavorful and huge chucks of garlic. We were also served some bread and butter. Bread was basic, but warm. For my entree I had their famous chicken vodka parm. It was so good and it had two huge pieces of chicken! I'm definitely looking forward to my leftovers tomorrow. My boyfriend had veal chop Asiago which he really enjoyed. He had asked for a steak knife to cut it, and our waitress said they didn't have any and they were "on order." He didn't end up needing the knife anyway...the veal cut perfectly with his butter knife. Each entree came with pasta and salad! We both got a Caesar salad which was perfectly dressed. So why 4 stars and not 5? We has ordered a bottle of rose, and we were given a bottle of white Zinfandel instead, which cost $5 more...and we were not informed of this. When we ordered the rose, our waitress said she had to check if they had it...didn't say anything and then poured us the Zinfandel. While it was good, we should've been informed. Checking out the new neighborhood where my bf's going to be moving to. We were able to find a gluten free pizzeria, heck there was a bunch of Gluten free pizzeria in that area. - Vegetable pizza no cheese add olives , sausage, fresh garlic. look at the size of those sausages, Broccoli huge - rice balls also gluten free - i ordered a stuffed knot not gluten free. But it was ok. It taste like a pretzel with stuffed chicken and garlic herb butter. But everything else was good. Also they were surprised that we wanted to sit in and eat instead of take out. We've been here a few times, and consider this restaurant a hidden gem with excellent food. We've never been disappointed. The dining room has been remodeled and upgraded, nothing fancy, but intimate and inviting, clean. Tonight, Christine was our server, very friendly, quality service. A warm bread and butter basket was served. And our dinners came with a very enjoyable salad with grated mozzarella on top, that we love. We started with the baked clams, which, were so good, and had that sauce you keep dipping the Italian bread in. My husband ordered the Asiago Veal Chop. The size was insane. It was tender. The pizza was good. Way too much cheese. The owner could save 50% on his mozzarella cheese bill by cutting the amount of cheese that is out on the pizza and entrees. He could still call it extra cheese! We also ordered Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken was very good with a generous portion. The pasta was a little overcooked but most non Italians probably like it that way. Hard to please everyone. The people are friendly and helpful. OMG! The other night my husband went there to get a regular pie and a few specialty slices. One of the slices that was offered was a Roast Beef and Mashed Potato Slice! WHEN I TELL YOU THIS WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING IVE HAD IN A LONGGGGG TIME!!! The brown gravy was amazing, the roast beef was cut nice and thin, the mashed potato dollop on top with the cheese that they used was ugh chefs kiss perfection !!! This review is solely for the cheese pizza. They had a nice September deal so thought it would be nice to try a different venue. I love cheese but there is a limit. They put so much cheese that the sauce to cheese ratio was really off. The grease coming off the pizza was clear which was an indication of the lack of sauce. Coupled that with a thick and chewy dough, it prompted my kid to say it tastes like "party pizza" which isn't a compliment. It was weird, it looked and felt like a pizza but it wasn't really flavorful at all. They do an extra charge when paying by credit card. But I ordered a house salad (it's suppose to have lettuce, cheese, chicken, olives, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers & mushrooms) I specifically put in the notes no cheese cause it's an allergy and I got a lot of cheese on the salad. Plus they left off the cucumbers & carrots & mushrooms. So I eventually paid $20 for lettuce olives and chicken & cheese, and I couldn't eat it cause it was cross contaminated with the mound of mozzarella cheese that should have been left off. If you have an allergy I reccomend calling them and telling someone your allergies rather than use the notes on any online order service. read more

For anyone who has purchased a Groupon for this place, YOU ARE HOSED! I bought one for my husband's birthday a few months ago, and we went there tonight, 3/11/25, to use it before it expires on the 20th. When we walked in, we were told, "Sorry, but we don't accept Groupons anymore." Really? I had to hear him say it again because I was completely caught off guard. Even if they are no longer affiliated with Groupon, they should stop selling them but continue to accept ones already purchased! That's just unacceptable and bad business. Michael Anthony's has totally exceeded all expectations. I've seen tons of reviews from Long Islanders on the famous Long Island Food and Drink Group Facebook Page. I finally decided to try the restaurant after months of having it bookmarked. The service was awesome and the food was seriously some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Located on Middle Country Rd, there's a small lot in front. They also have a lot in the back on the restaurant. Both times I've been here, I didn't have an issue finding a spot. Outside, the restaurant looks like a regular pizzeria/restaurant. Inside, it's gorgeous! They just renovated the entire dining room. New furniture, new paint, raised the ceilings with new light fixtures plus more! The prices are wonderful! They have nightly specials during the week that come with soup or salad, dinner, pasta, and dessert! Check the website to see which specials are being offered. The prices for private parties were also so great that my family actually booked a graduation party here. This is the best game in town for private parties/group dining. The service was something I've never experienced in NY. Yes in other states, people are very friendly when I'm out at dinner. But here in NY, usually the service doesn't compare. Here at Michael Anthony's, I was so happy with the service. Gina met with me when I called letting her know I was interested in booking a party. She invited me to the restaurant to let me taste some of the dishes. She was so friendly and helped me book what's going to be an amazing party. I felt like family after leaving the restaurant. We liked the service so much, my family came again a few days later to eat. Both Gina and Kristine made our meal memorable. The dishes came out at a steady pace and I wasn't rushed at all. The food was some of the best Italian food I've ever had, I hope my mother doesn't read this! I came during land and sea night (Wednesday). $17 for salad or soup, dinner, pasta & dessert. Some of the items have an up charge (the French Onion Soup & Pasta with Vodka Sauce) but well worth the price. Seriously, if you come and don't get the penne alla vodka, you didn't experience Michael Anthony's. What I loved is that the food is homemade and expertly prepared. The portions are hearty, come hungry! I will be reviewing what I've tried: -Complimentary bread baskets and butter for the table. This bread was so fresh and great for dipping in sauce! I was able to get seconds! -Caesar Salad: Best Caesar dressing I've ever had. Yes I said it! The portion was perfect and the lettuce was incredibly fresh. I would definitely get this again. 5 out of 5 stars -French Onion Soup: So, this has been one of the most unique renditions of this soup (aside from the Wagyu French Onion I had at Insignia). Gina told us that the fried onions placed on top are made in house daily. Omg how great! The broth also had a unique taste. I loved this because usually French onion is very salty but here at Michael Anthony's, the soup was very balanced. I recommend this. 5 out of 5 stars -Fried Calamari: I could tell, this was 100% made in house. The batter on the calamari was great, it was so buttery! The squid melted in my mouth. The portion was huge and easily split between 5 people! Also loved the marinara sauce the dish came with. 5 out of 5 stars -Chicken Francese: Usually, I'm not a huge fan of this but here at Michael Anthony's...I loved it. I think this restaurant placed a spell on me that makes me love everything! The chicken was moist and the francese sauce was so delicious. 5 out of 5 stars -Chicken Marsala: Some of the best Marsala sauce I've ever had, so many mushrooms. The chicken was moist and the brown wine sauce was savory. I couldn't help but dip my bread into the remaining sauce. Came with 2 huge cutlets, plus pasta! 5 out of 5 stars -Penne Alla Vodka: Best vodka sauce I've ever had! Wow this place!!! I have no words. Just order it! They also allow you to order this sauce on dishes like chicken parm which sounds delectable! 5 out of 5 stars -Shrimp Fra Diavolo: Came with 6 decently sized shrimp and a nice helping of pasta. The sauce had some heat but the shrimp were the stars of the show! 5 out of 5 stars -Cannoli Dessert: So, for dessert they had a choice between a mini cannoli or strawberry cake. Of course I was going to choose the cannoli. It was so good! 5 out of 5 stars Thank you Michael Anthony's Restaurant for making me and my family feel so welcomed. I've done take out a few times, and have always enjoyed everything, but tonight I took my mom for dinner. We really enjoyed ourselves! From Sun-Thurs they have a great pre fix menu (salad, beverage, entree w pasta, coffee or tea, and dessert) for $15.99 +tax & gratuity... Now, I'm in the Industry and I have worked places that offer pre fix, and it can be quite a task taking care of multiple tables at once with each person ordering beverages plus refills and 3 courses...so in my eyes our server Angelina was absolutely wonderful...she handled the dining room like a champ, and was so polite, sweet, and went out of her way to please all the customers (I also have a tendency to people watch and I had the best seat in the house to do so). She worked the room alone, and it quickly began to fill. There were no bussers or other servers, so for the dinner rush she had, and for handling 20-5 people at different stages in their meals, needing refills, trying to keep everything in order, Angelina kept her composure and made everyone happy (I always mention this because sometimes people forget they're not the only ones that need attention or there is only one server so it may take a little longer than you'd like, but you can tell your server wants to make sure all the customers are happy during their visit...so, patience is greatly appreciated). We also don't like to be rushed, so although things took some time, it gave us plenty of opportunity to sit, relax, and enjoy each other's company. Onto the food...mom and I were super pleased with each course. We both had house salads with bleu cheese dressing...they were quite large with lots of veggies, cheese, and olives. The dressing was really tasty, and while I usually ask for it on the side I forgot, but they used the perfect amount! For entrees mom ordered chicken Marsala with angel hair and I ordered shrimp parmigiana with angel hair and requested fra Diavolo instead of tomato sauce. Mom really enjoyed her chicken and I tasted the Marsala sauce which had a really pleasant flavor (almost a touch sweet like they used a sweet Marsala or sherry for the sauce)...it was very well prepared and a large portion too! My shrimp dish was delicious. Crispy breaded nice sized shrimp that were butterflied and perfectly cooked...the Fra Diavolo sauce was so tasty...a nice light heat that built up slowly but never became overpowering...quality mozzarella melted on top too, and another very nice portion. We wrapped up the rest and relaxed a bit...Angelina came around for dessert orders and we chose the chocolate cake and cheesecake with a coffee and a tea...both were very good (mom had chocolate although I had a bite) but I thought the cheesecake was very delicious...it came across as homemade to me...silky smooth and creamy, a bit decadent, and a very well prepared crust. I was very impressed. I will recommend dining at Michael Anthony's to everyone! They are simply wonderful! read more

I heard such great things about this place and the customer service. I went on their website and it kept popping up to use this app "slices" to order delivery. So I order thru the app at 4:23 a large pie a large salad and a roll. Easy. At 5:15 the delivery comes. Great. I get in the house open the bag and it's missing the roll. At this time a notification comes up from the slices app that any issues or w/e you can chat thru the app. Which was perfect because I had guest over I didn't want to talk on the phone. As you can see they said that the restaurant apologized and at 5:30 the roll was already done and ready for delivery. Well around 6:20 I still didn't receive my eggplant roll and my guest had to leave. I called the restaurant and heard all the commotion in the back saying that I canceled the order thru slices and that my Entire order was currently at the restaurant. I explained that I already received my pizza and salad and (I'm assuming the owner Mike)seemed to not believe me. I asked for a refund only for the roll but he said I couldn't get it because it was a problem with the app not them and that I had to call them in order to get my refund because he needed his money. Which look I get but jeez I'm the customer here trying to host guest. With missing items. Such a hassle and attitude (like I said I heard what was being said in the back) over an 8.99 eggplant roll. Ordered take out catering here based on some online reviews on gluten free food. It was my first time going. I ordered a half tray of gluten free Penne Rustica to bring to a party. It came to $65.17. I'll get back to that in a moment. When we picked it up we asked for a plastic serving spoon. They didn't have one. I found this odd as anywhere else I've gone this hasn't been a problem. Being gluten free and bringing it to someone's house I didn't want to use their server. They should consider having those on hand for the future. Then I thought it was odd that we weren't given any gluten free bread with it. That was disappointing. As for the dish itself the flavor was delicious and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The down side was there was barely any chicken in it. I had a small piece with my serving. If you're charging more cause it has chicken in it vs a penne a la vodka there should be chicken. Any hoot the non gluten free people loved it and the entire tray was eaten. I would recommend going if you are gluten free. I'm curious to go and dine in house. Thank you Michael Anthony's! Behind every small business is a family. Their family service when choosing our Easter meal; during quarantine, was very helpful and affordable. We choose the ham, salad, broccoli, corn, mashed potatoes and Italian bread dinner for 4. We added a second half of a meal as there is 5 of us. We enjoyed their mozzarella, tomato capreze salad as an appetizer. Everything was delicious! Pick up was easy, staff navigated no more than 2 customers picking up in the restaurant at a time. Doesn't look like much when you walk in interior is a little dated but the sit down food and catered food is pretty good. The fried foods seem to be mainly Frozen excluding me chicken parm. Fried ravioli mozzarella sticks calamari all are pretty much basic nothing to write home about. Depending on who is making the pizza and calzones they are quite different. When the owner makes the pizza, crust is thin, crispy and the sauce is very good while cheese is not too heavy for the crust. When someone else makes the pizza you know right away very thick, doughy and does not seem to be seasoned or cooked the same way but is 100% noticeable. Something definitely has changed with the pizza altogether I'm not sure if because business picked up they are rushing but being a longtime customer I have found myself trying other pizza places in the area lately read more

WE arrived at 310PM and was refused the Groupon. The owner said you must be their after 4pm and No pizza allowed with Groupon. We would have spent more than $20 which the coupon was for, I never saw these instructions on the Groupon site. If I owned a restaurant I would make the customer happy so that the customer returns and recommends to others. On the positive note,the owner and assistant was friendly, the restaurant looked clean, and the pizza looked good. We will never find out because he does not know how to run a business. Came here the first time (Nov 2013) because it's close to the SCCC Ammerman campus and I passed by here with someone who was hungry (the person driving). Their food is pretty good. They also have a special menu for different days of the week. (Like Surf & Turf Mondays and Date Night Fridays, I think.) The waitress we have/had is very nice and remembers us. It's a simple, clean place. They change up the decorations and music for holidays though; Christmas garlands and Christmas music for the holidays and hearts everywhere (including heart-shaped candles) for Valentine's, etc. Like every Italian restaurant, they provide bread before serving your appetizers/entrees. I've had their calamari: it's good, but a little too salty/flavorful sometimes. They give you big portions for meals though! I always have a lot to take home (even though I usually don't finish my food when I eat out...). I haven't had any desserts because I'm really picky with that too and I'm just not a fan of cannoli, among other things. Have been back multiple times and will keep going back. read more

Just want to start off by saying this place is amazing went here with my girlfriend and her sister the staff is super friendly as soon as you walk you your greeted with amazing hospitality. Gina was our waiter she was awesome she told us what food was good to get and everything she said was 100% right omg the food was outstanding big portions of food so be ready to eat came here hungry and left full and with some leftovers for the next day. They redid the inside seating area came out great didn't feel rushed when eating and didn't have to ask for any refills they came and asked which is awesome I'll definitely be coming back here.
