The woman who just answered the phone (3/25/25 around 6pm) was incredibly rude she yelled on the phone to have me slow down the cc numbers when I was speaking slowly and clearly. She also seemed to be inconvenienced by everything. I wanted to pay before going and she said it was an inconvenience to do and they prefer not to but she guesses they can. We were at the Home Depot and decided to move out of our pizza comfort zone. We strolled across the parking lot to "Milano" pizzeria. Originally we were going to order a pie to go but decided to try a slice or two. I am very glad we did. I ordered a slice of regular and my wife; the more adventurous of the two when it comes to epicurean delights; chose the vegetable pizza. Three minutes after selecting our slices we were served with pipping hot pizza. My wife ordered a bottle of Schweppes lemon-lime seltzer and I a small Doctor Pepper. After paying we exited to dine, al fresco, at one of the two tables. We have a split decision, my wife found the vegetable slice very good. The veggies were fresh and the pizza cracked as she cut into it with the knife. The regular slice I bit into was hot. The crust was crunchy but the sauce and cheese were devoid of any flavor. The price to food ratio is enough for me to say I would not return to eat a regular slice of pizza at this establishment. The $12.00 price tag for a specialty slice, a regular slice, a small soda from the soda fountain and a regular size bottle of soda is not reasonable. The Takeaways: 1. Ample parking 2. So perhaps I was a bit harsh in my reviews of Milano pizza, due to past experiences my hands were really tied. I walked in today (which was difficult what with all the rope holding my hands behind my back) because I always give people/places more chances to disappoint me, it's really a wonderful quality I have. My motto is "I'll try anything twice" but what it should be is "break my heart and I'll give you the opportunity to pick up the pieces and throw them away again and again and again" This being said, I fully expected the worst going into this adventure, I knew I'd be let down, I knew my eyes would figuratively weep like the grease off a pepperoni slice. I was wrong, the knot slice wasn't bad, no aspect of it was as bad as I have experienced here before, at $3.10 for the slice after tax, I got about 5knots on the crust, essentially transforming my pizza into three separate items: pizza, knots, and sesame bread sticks (they do the sesame seed crust thang) it was kinda dope. The only thing I didn't like about the slice is that it was dry, not much sauce. The thing was cheesy & crispy and I'm quite full after all that dough, for not that much $dough$. The slices in the case looked good, particularly the taco slice, and the sausage n pepper slice.... And the eggplant/broccoli... Okay and the ziti and stuffed meat slice too. I Dnno maybe I went in hungry or maybe I finally hit Milano pizza at a better time!? I'll go back MAYBE and see what else I can find but I'm hesitant to say the least. Everyday I drive this route to the gym, past this place and never saw it. One of my employees told me about it so I started paying attention. It's located in the Bellport Shopping Plaza across from The Home Depot. I like that because that means there's plenty of parking. When I walked in I noticed the great music playing, all modern pop. I saw how clean the place was which in my mind means someone cares about this store. Making my way to the counter I was welcomed by a very wonderful woman. She was friendly when I asked questions and even asked me some too. She made ordering my food fun! I don't try to eat heavy after a workout but that meat stuff kept looking at me. I knew what it wanted and I wanted it too! I made my move, I picked it up! I took my slice to the table and we went at it. This meat stuffed slice set the bar for Suffolk County meat stuffed! It was meaty and full of CHEESE (did I mention I love cheese?). My only regret was not selecting another of their many specialty slices. On top of everything people kept coming in and picking up orders. How could I have never noticed Milano's? It's a mistake I'm glad I corrected! I like the soft bread like crust as well as the wholesome cheese used in the pizzas. Recently came home for Christmas break, and have had a bit of a change of heart. I loved their tomato pizza (if you are skeptical, just try it). And of course, the unique crust that Milano has created. There are some pretty interesting slices here that are uncommon, so there's pretty much something for everyone. For instance, all my boston friends gawked at me when I ordered the taco pizza, and I snubbed my nose at them and told them they were no longer allowed to have a piece. They stuck with cheese and grandma pizza and liked it just fine. read more
