Came in and it wasn't super busy. Arrival time 6:28, I checked because my fiancé said something about happy hour (which ended at a very early 5pm btw). I already viewed the menu on yelp so by 6:33 we were ordering our food and beer...on a side note the tap list is ridiculously hard to read from most places in the building. By 7:05 I notice the table next to us ask about their food then cancel their order and leave ( they ordered before we even sat down). I then ask the waitress about the wait time and she gives me some excuse about how they are busy...ok yes AFTER we ordered the place filled up with people, but those people should have no effect on your ability to get the people who were there BEFORE it got busy their food. Another 20 minutes goes by and STILL no pizza...and the waitress has yet to return to give me a timeframe on our pizza like I asked. By 7:30 the fiancé sees I'm getting a bit irritated, stops a different waitress and asks again about our pizza. She checks in the back and magically the pizza is done. Now the average pizza takes roughly 12 - 15 minutes to cook. During the 1 hour we waited for our pizza the ONLY thing that came out of that kitchen were 3 calzones to the table behind us...oddly in 15 minute increments....ummmm, can you only bake one item at a time?? Wtf is going on in that kitchen??? As to the pizza itself, I wasn't a fan of the crust, however the pizza sauce, toppings and flavor were all pretty good. We ordered the medi which has a spicy sauce, meatballs, green bell peppers, bacon and peppercinis. Good, but not worth a one hour wait that's for sure. Overall, if you don't mind taking almost 2 hours to eat a pizza dinner the food is pretty good, however there's a place by my house with equally tasty pizza, and I can drive there, order, eat, drive home and stop at a red box to pick out a movie in under the 2 hour turn around time at half pint. Probably won't be back. On a side note the fiancé did mention the vintage atmosphere was nice, I agree however found it quite loud...noise just seemed to carry. read more

Went on a Wednesday night with the boyfriend. The tables were all filled so we sat at the bar. Lots of families with little kids, but nothing obnoxious. The atmosphere was weird when we came in as the only music was faintly coming from the back kitchen. Finally someone ordered some tunes on the digital jukebox which helped. Pizza by the slice is a nice option but we got a whole pie. Average, really. You could just as easily make this at home. Service was friendly but painfully slow. I must say that Medi's is one of my new favorite places in Tacoma. While I was immediately put off because the bartender didn't know how to make a Manhattan, I was revived by the pizza. Don't go in expecting the bar to know how to do anything other than pull the tap for a beer or pour a shot into a soda, but the pizza is where it's at. read more

Stopped here for dinner on the way back from Seattle. Cool little place, good vibe. Great draft beer selection, with plenty of "good" IPA's. Pizza was awesome...good ratio of sauce/cheese, plenty of meat. Apparently it gets packed starting around 7pm on the weekends.... read more

Purely focused on the pizza, this place does not disappoint. I've had quite a few pies and have always been more than satisfied, their beer selection is quite good as well. They even brew a few of their own just next door, under the moniker of "Sluggo", not bad at all. They have a one topping large special for $10 any day after 10pm I believe, check it out! read more

I went and had their personal pizza and a Rainier beer for less than $12. the pizza came hot and delicious with a salad. Great for families. They have a vintage photo booth, pinball machines, and Pacman video game. Great place to eat and socialize. Wortha visit and I'll be going back real soon. read more

This place has Old German. I like that beer. The sidewalk outside is wide enough to fit most of my friends when we are hanging out. Sometimes I see someone walking their dog outside and it is like being at a dog park. read more

I have to say, I only eat pizza here. I can't review the bar. The pizza is amazing, the best in Tacoma. I do wish the crust was a bit chewier and less bready like a good Brooklyn slice. dude was remarkably uptight. moving a chair from one table to another is apparently cause for intense scorn. The bartender had Little tolerance for a couple questions regarding the beers on tap. I can't think of many places you can go and get a calzone that is bigger than your forearm (hand included!) and pay $6. $2 more and you get a delicious fresh side salad. I went there last Friday at 3 in the afternoon. I ordered an appetizer and a pizza and it took THIRTY MINUTES just to get our appetizer. The bartender/waitress was nice, however she was the only person working the bar. It wasn't full, but there was maybe 13 people there. I don't know if the problem was communication with the kitchen, or the kitchen itself. In the end, I don't think it should take 45 minutes before you get to eat your meal. The beer was ice cold and very tasty. It was my first time here. I was referred by a friend. The only problem I had was with the pizza. The flavor was spot on but the crust was kind of greasy on the bottom. We were told this place had great pie but I've had better. Maybe whoever made it was having a bad day with the dough who knows. I'm willing to give them another chance because I don't like to judge a place on one pizza and almost forgot the service was great. This is a local watering hole complete with regulars and a younger crowd on the weekends. Its rarely too crowded and the service is friendly. I heard this place was family friendly which is a huge selling point for me because I have a one year old. We got there around 4 which is when they open and there weren't many people there yet. We got seated right away and they provided a high chair. We ordered cheesy bread and a vegetopia pizza. I have been a longtime Half Pint customer until one of the worst customer experiences I ever had was with them. Last week me and my partner visited with several friends and family for food and drinks. It was OK but my partner forgot her ID in the booth, and my brother, who was sitting on other side of booth, had his cannabis-pipe unknowingly fall out of his pocket. One of their staff found my partner on Facebook and asked her to come get her ID. When she arrived to get her ID they told her "We also have your pipe. A child found it, and innocent little kid. Shame on you." And they went on for quite awhile publicly shaming her before giving her her ID and telling us to "take a break from here for a while." It turns out there was no child! The woman who text my partner who found the ID confirmed there were no children present. They just added that fabricate detail to add to the affect. Neither me nor my girlfriend smoke cannabis, but we got banned and publicly shamed because one person in our large party lost a pipe. They won't admit they were wrong and have not explained the huge lie about the non-existent child. Also, the atmosphere here on weekend nights has gotten very dark and bad and several fights and near-fights have erupted recently. Will. Not. Return. Ever. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time today. Arround 3pm we showed up and the girl behind the bar was really running the entire show. Bartending, hosting and waitressing. She was great. Wife and I had Calzones that were amazing. Probably the best ive ever had. My son had a kids pizza which was deliscious. They have great dough which makes great crust. We have ventured into Medi's 4 times now and have been impressed with the pizza and the afordable price. The pizza has good crust, fresh cheese, and an assortment of toppings. It's a pick and choose from the toppings list type of place which is fun because you get to have the stuff you like. I did venture out and try the fettuchine our second trip in and was not all that impressed. The dish tasted like they had dumped the whole bottle and salt and pepper into the batch? If you steer clear of the pasta and just stick with the pizza, this is a great little neighborhood joint. read more
