I heard of this place on Yelp and was in need to experience the twist. They have a great and easy website to customize their pizzas and they have such a variety of twist-sations. I ordered the Mediterranean combo and the lamb kabob pizza. My favorite was the Mediterranean but thoroughly enjoyed the other. The sauce is very unique and breakthrough compared to a general marinara sauce. The toppings of lamb and chicken with other goodies is an amazing flavor combo. I did a medium spice level, was sufficient to enjoy the spice and gently heated. The dough is thick enough to support the pizza/ sauce, cheese and toppings and not be a bagel, compared to other venues where the dough becomes soggy. I had the pizza cut into squares, saw the option and why not.. it was good portion control. I ordered an appetizer of paneer nuggets and those were creative and yummy. Also a Cesar salad which was good portion for the price. The pizza did well in the fridge and it was great cold the following days. I would totally comeback again to try the other twistful pies. No cap might be one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I stumbled upon it searching for pizza on yelp. Obviously what struck me were the different types of pizza with the Halal ingredients. I ordered the curry paneer pizza (spicy) which had A ton of veggies paneer cheese squares and a curry sauce that was so flavorful! A super interesting "twist" on Indian and Italian cuisine. We ordered cheese pasta, garlic chicken spinach pesto pasta and a chicken, mushroom, tomato and tikka sauce pizza with a cauliflower crust. The food is so delicious and well prepared. My picky toddler loves it! She barely eats Mac n cheese anywhere. They offer vegetarian, halal , meat alternative options, gluten free and cauliflower crust. They also have regular, thin and pan crusts. I asked if each topping is a separate charge, or if I get unlimited toppings; the gentleman told me each has an add-on charge but that he will "do it in a way that's smart and good for me." I asked for a medium pizza, hand-tossed, with double pepperoni, cilantro, red onion, black olives, green pepper. The "double" pepperoni was so weak, some slices had only 1 pepperoni on them. I also did not get the cilantro on there that I asked for. The shop was empty the entire time I was there waiting so it's not like they were swamped. They had 4-5 workers in the kitchen for my 1 pizza. Unfortunately I was quick to say no thank you! when asked if I wanted the receipt. Had been waiting on this place to open as the concept was really interesting. I love pizza and Indian food so as soon as we got the chance we placed an order. We ordered a two topping pizza with chicken and jalapeno, 2 pc samosa, and masala fries. Overall everything tasted good. There were some hiccups as they ran out of the sauce for the samosas. We ordered for pickup and the person working the counter was nice and apologetic about the sauce issue. The store itself is incredibly clean and inviting, with great decor on the walls. The owner took our order and when asked, gave details on menu items and made suggestions about popular items, which was very helpful and spot on! They also ask you about desired heat levels on each dish which we appreciate since some of us like things hotter than others. We started with the Masala Fries Twist and they were amazing! Honestly, we'll be back for these alone. Hot, fresh, crispy fries covered in a creamy sauce with fresh herbs and onions. There wasn't a single one left and my family was trying to get the sauce onto their pizzas later! We stepped out of our comfort zone and ordered a Butter Chicken (Shahi) pizza and a Spicy Lamb Kabob Pizza. Both were beautifully made and delicious, although the Butter Chicken was a clear favorite. Dough was very nice and well cooked and lots of toppings. Sauces were unique and flavorful. Just look at the pics, they don't lie. My husband also got a plant based pizza due to dietary needs, and he was very pleased. Said he would come back again and wanted to try them all! Give this place a try. We tried Pizza Twist in Newbury Park a couple of days ago. Online ordering didn't work for me, so I called and ordered a small BBQ chicken pizza (I declined the bacon that normally comes with this pizza), "thin crust, extra crispy", and a six-piece "boneless chicken wings". They asked that I give them 15 minutes when I placed the order by phone; the order was ready in about that time. I got there a couple of minutes early, and had a pleasant, brief conversation with the counter person. From the wallpaper, framed photos, and other items on the menu, I thought that I'd ask if they'd be willing to make a mango curry pizza. "Sure!" We had received a postcard with coupons for discounts on a few things; none were what we ordered. I asked if any coupons could be applied. "No, but I'll give you a 10% discount as a first-time customer." Thanks! The pizza was not exactly thin crust, and not exactly crisp. It was definitely small. It tasted reasonably OK, though. I froze the half-pizza that was left over, reheated it today, and it was still good. My wife did not particularly like the chicken. She said that they seemed like white-meat chicken nuggets instead of dark meat wings. The container had eight of them, instead of six, which was nice. No sauce was provided. Here's my current order of preference for local BBQ chicken pizzas: 1. Butler's Pizza, on T.O. Blvd - best, by a lot. Will 2. Tony's New York Pizza, on Kimber in Newbury Park - Good, 3. Pizza Twist - reasonably OK 4. Bony Mountain Pizza - not memorable. The halal menu is very deceptive. I asked to see if their Italian sausage was halal and they said they think it was beef or chicken. I told him to check the box and he said it was indeed pork but that it was "halal" pork. There is no such thing as halal pork. For them to serve pork on the halal menu is egregious. Using one of their online coupons, we ordered a specialty pizza (butter chicken) and a traditional pizza (pep and mushroom), and we loved both! First, who doesn't like trying variations of the things you love (pizza)? Second, the dough had great texture and not greasy--soft and pillowy on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside. Our toddler could eat it, too, which is a win-win (sometimes pizza places serve a soggy crust or crust that's too hard for our toddler.) The food here is so good!! This is our 3rd time getting pizza to go, we have tried different pizzas each time and it is outstanding. We always get the spicy lamb pizza as one of our pizzas every time it is so delicious, love the sweetness of the pineapple to compliment the sauce and the jalapeños. This location has a pork pizza listed on their halal menu called the combination pizza. We verified with the staff multiple times and they reassured us that the combination pizza was halal. We ordered it and ate it and new something was off. We then confirmed again and they admitted that there was pork on the pizza. Serving pork to Muslims is horrific and we are still in shock that we were served and consumed pork. This restaurant needs to be held responsible for their actions and change the menu or else they have a big lawsuit coming their way. read more

My son and I were excited to try Pizza Twist out for lunch and we were so disappointed. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, it was not a good experience. We walked in and a lady came out to the front counter at the register. She immediately and repeatedly tapped her nails and kept playing around with her cell phone. We took our time to review the menu and she did not help with offering any suggestions when I commented that everything looked good but I wasn't sure what to eat. I also asked her questions and she either simply nodded (as if to acknowledge I said something but didn't register what I asked her) and when she did answer, they were simple short 1 word answers. No attempt at customer service whatsoever. I felt so unwelcome. The nail tapping was just something else. When she saw me glance from the corner of my eye to her reaching for her phone again, she tucked it away into her jeans pocket. I tried registering my number to earn points for the meal especially since I ended up spending more than $75 on it. But wasn't able to since the lady pushed me to remove my card from the machine even though I explained to her that I was trying to register to earn points. She then said "okay I'm going to give you your receipt." I then asked if I could register for points using the receipt and she said "I don't know. It's in the computer." I decided to ask one of the two men who came out of if I could talk with him and he looked at me with a response that provoked me to say "when you're not busy." He didn't even respond and just rushed back to the kitchen. He never did come over or offer for me to come up to the counter so we could have a discussion. I decided it didn't matter anymore since I didn't care to earn any points, as I don't plan on returning. The concept of the restaurant itself sounded interesting but the food was not good. My son ordered vegan chicken wings, vegan cheese bread, and a vegan pizza. The chicken wings tasted like rolled dough basted or tossed in sauce. The cheese bread was mediocre, and the pizza was pretty awful. I ordered palak paneer pasta. By the time I received my order I could only take three bites before packaging it back up. My ears had started ringing about 20-30 minutes after we started eating, and each dish came out separately. We were waiting quite a bit for each dish we ordered and ended up being there a while because of that. We wished we had read the reviews before coming in. As I write this, my ears are ringing over an our later after we started eating. And I'm exhausted. I feel like I need to detox somehow - like I ingested stuff that's just not good for me.
