Y'all this soul food is unreal. I got the fried catfish basket and the catfish were no joke like 7 inches long. The batter was absolutely unreal too it's probably the best fried batter I've had. The fries were great and y'all can't sleep on their sauce. Whoever's in the back knows their stuff. The best part of the meal were the beignets. You get 3 beignets for like 8 bucks and they're giant and are like eating a fluffy cloud full of joy. It's like a donut but way better. Anyways the prices are just ridiculous for the amount of food you get and I highly, HIGHLY recommend going here at the mall. One of the last good food places there
We ordered the fried catfish and fries platter as well as the small beignets. Overall, the catfish and fries were acceptable. It was fried well, although they didn't fully drain the oil from the fries so they stayed a little bit soggy. The catfish had a nice crisp layer on the outside and the fish was tender and fell apart nicely. Portion size was large as well. Though it could've been seasoned a little better. The order of beignets were very disappointing. There was a huge layer of oil on the bottom of the plate, and the beignets itself were dense, heavy, and thick. My husband and I could only take one bite, and we had to throw the rest of it away because it was too dense and too oily which was very disappointing. We were excited to see creole food and wanted to try it out but and ended up disappointed by the product. If you're shopping in the mall, this might be a good option if you wanted to get a savory snack if you're curious but I wouldn't come back again.

I found this place on TikTok and decided to try their vegan beignets. I have a crustacean allergy, so I can't eat shrimp. The owner let me know that the beignets and fries are cooked in separate fryers, so there is no cross-contamination. The beignets were fluffy and soft, and the fries were well seasoned. Would visit here again!
Okay, LOVED this place. For a random find at the food court in the mall, I'm so impressed! Now I will definitely be going here again when I'm back at this mall. I ordered the Chicken Bourbon Loaded Fries and the plain beignets with Nutella dip. The fries were SO flavorful. The real star of the show was the chicken on the fries. It was cooked SO well. The service was also amazing. The person who gave me my order remembered my name and asked me how I was enjoying the food. Then thanked me again when I got up to leave. They were unnecessarily nice but I really appreciated it. I ate the beignets when I got home and they were so tasty, but very sweet! If you like sweet, absolutely go for it. It's a great place to go on a weekday too because that food court will have plenty of seating and you can chill and people watch. Can't wait to go back here, even just for that chicken!
The best creole taste in all the westttt. From their po boys to their loaded bourbon fries, to their heavenly beignets, this place has everything you could want if you're looking for that authentic taste and seasoning that is associated with creole cooking.
There are a rare few here in Southern California that know something about authentic Creole food and I certainly stumbled upon a place. My meal was a Catfish Poboy w/ Cajun fried and I most certainly was not disappointed. Let's start with the Poboy. First off, Catfish is amazing when it is prepared properly l. This sandwich had Crispy Dill Pickles, a Lightly sweet Sauce, Bread is fresh baked Perfectly breaded and fried catfish and it was perfect with each and every bite. Next the Cajun fries. These are Lightly seasoned shoestring Cajun fries (think Five guys Cajun but shoestring size) and I actually vacuumed them up with my mouth as I couldn't stop eating them. Jeremiah is the owner and he was at the register telling me a little about how his Creole food came to be out here in SoCal and he was a very nice guy. The short of it: This food is Made fresh to order and it's the Best d*** mall food I've ever had! If you're at the Oaks man, pass on the Panda Express and treat your tastebuds to this!

Cajun/Creole food is one of my favorite cuisines and it's so hard to find in California, especially in the 805. For a long time now we've had limited options and once I saw that this former food truck was making their way into the Thousand Oaks Mall Food Court I was all ears! Finally made it in today to try them out and they lived up to the hype. As I mentioned above Creole Kings is located inside the Oaks mall food court area. You can't miss them. They have a large sign and a good location in the middle. The menu was large with some great poboy options and fried seafood baskets. They also have beignets and other small desserts. It was cool being in the food court and hearing other people walk by and talk about this spot in excitement, since it is unique and different spot to traditional food court style foods. I love fried catfish and knew this had to be my first dish to try from this spot. The young gentleman that rang me up at the register was very friendly. There were some small glitches with their online system, but it took one of the other team members just a minute to help the young guy and then we were on our way for me to place my order. He was very polite and nice. He took down my name to call out when my order when it was ready and then I stepped aside and waited. The good news is that their seafood is fried up fresh and made to order. So for food court type meals, I would say this takes a little bit longer than some of the other stalls, but it is well worth the wait and you are getting fresh and delicious food. I didn't mind the wait but just acknowledging it does take a couple extra minutes. Once my order was ready, they called out my name, and I took it to one of the nearby tables. Another pro tip and recommendation is I do believe you need to eat this type of food fresh versus taking it to go/delivered. I don't think fried catfish hits the same when you eat it a while later. I know that my experience and the taste of the food was a 5/5 because I ate it right when it was ready, so I would recommend you grab a seat and enjoy. The fried catfish was delicious and some of the best I've had in the area. The batter was super crispy and flavorful, and the fish tasted very fresh, melt in your mouth. The fries were very well seasoned and perfectly crunchy. I love their remoulade sauce and definitely had to ask for an extra one because one would not be enough. It was truly a delicious meal and everything was super fresh and had great flavor. I also feel like the prices were reasonable for the amount of food I was given and I was able to take some home for leftovers because it was a good portion. I definitely think Creole King is a 5/5. The food was very tasty, the service friendly, and just the whole menu/concept is a breath of fresh air in this area. I highly recommend you come check them out and support this newer local business because they are doing a great job and I definitely can't wait to come back
Yayyyyy a good bite to eat at the Oaks Food Court that's not your typical chain!! Don't get me wrong, I love a good Corn Dog on a Stick (you can spot one in my photo LOL), but it's so nice to see something fresh and new. You can tell they're a family-owned business by their friendly and welcoming service. We asked for the signature entree with catfish and a side of fried okra. We wanted our catfish fried but accidentally communicated that we wanted it grilled; the lady taking our order quickly stopped us and said "fried is better" -- we're so thankful for her honesty and glad she caught our mistake! Everything is made to order so our food took a little while, but we didn't mind as we were excited to try all the food. The catfish met our expectations :) Breading was crispy and full of flavor, and the actual fish was hot and flaky -- so so yummy. Sauces were great too and had the exact flavor profile I was looking for. I do wish the proportions of the entree were better; we devoured the catfish right away and were still left with a bunch of lettuce and fries. For $6, you get a lot of fried okra! It could have used a little more salt but it tasted great with the sauces. I'd definitely go back to try their beignets! Their peach cobbler ones look especially enticing :)
Delicious food, amazing portions. Loved my meal at this locally owned, chef curated restaurant. I am vegan and it can be hard to find options for fried food that I'm able to order out when dining. This restaurant is vegan-conscious while providing absolutely delectable options. I had a cauliflower basket with bourbon sauce and okra. Cooked to perfection!! I use a lot of hot sauce and they gave me as much as I needed. This is New Orleans quality, very hard to find in California. The beignets were unbelievably good. What a treat!! I will be back and can say I highly recommend this as a lunch option for vegans and omnivores alike.

Definitely hit the spot and I was fried up perfectly. Not greasy and the fish was super tender. They made everything fresh to order. Definitely worth the wait! I briefly met the owner and they were very nice and definitely will check it out again. Beignets as a snack while shopping is definitely a must. The beignets come with 1 choice of sauce: strawberry, Nutella, or caramel. We got the caramel and devoured them pretty quickly. They are soft and pillowy and they use a nice dusting of powdered sugar.

If you're walking through The Oaks Mall and craving something with real flavor, Creole Kings in the food court is absolutely worth a stop. I ordered the Fried Catfish Combo, which comes with fries, and it did not disappoint. The catfish was seasoned perfectly and fried to perfection, crispy on the outside with a moist, juicy center that packed a ton of flavor in every bite. You can tell they know what they're doing when it comes to Cajun style cooking. The fries were just as impressive, coated in Cajun seasoning that gave them a nice kick without overpowering the meal. Everything paired really well with their house dipping sauce and a splash of hot sauce, bringing it all together. What really stood out was the service. Saw this place opened up at The Oaks Mall food court. Being a huge fan of beignets I had to give it a try. It's takes a little while to get your food, but it's because everything is made to order. Being in the mall, your ambiance is loud and crowded with dirty tables, but it's worth a visit during your shopping trip. I ordered the bourbon loaded fries and beignets with strawberry dipping sauce. Neither disappointed and I'll be back to try other items on the menu. The fries had a nice Cajun spice to them, and the bourbon glaze on the chicken had my mouth watering after one bite. The fries are topped with lettuce and pickles, which sounds odd but it works. The beignets are topped with a honey and cream cheese drizzle, then covered in powdered sugar. The strawberry dipping sauce is what you'd find on a funnel cake, and had me having childhood carnival flashbacks. Overall everything was pretty good, and I'm looking forward to trying out a poboy. I was walking through the food court just looking for a quick snack when the cashier greeted me with a warm and friendly hello, she was saying hi to everyone who passed by, which immediately stood out. At first, nothing specific caught my eye, so I started to walk away, but then I noticed okra on their menu, something you rarely find in California restaurants! That was all it took for me to stop. I ordered a side of fried okra, which came with a spicy dipping sauce, and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, crispy, and fresh. I only planned on grabbing a small snack, but the quality and flavor definitely made an impression. Customer service was excellent, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to be there. I can't wait to come back when I'm hungrier to try more from their menu. Creole Kings is a fantastic find, friendly people and great Southern comfort food! read more
We tried the beignets. It was good! It has the crunchy yet soft texture. We asked for three sauces, my boyfriend really likes the strawberry and nutella, while I like the caramel and strawberry. Service was good and quick! I came on a Monday night, there wasn't a wait at all, our order took about 5 minutes-ish. In my opinion, it's pretty cheap considering I got 6 nice beignets for $8.00. I would definitely go back to try the other food. It's inside The Oaks mall in the food court. read more

Some of the best food I've had at a food court. Let's start with the fries. Weird to begin with but these are arguably the best fries in the area. Perfectly cooked, crispy, and well seasoned. This is what McDonald's fries aspire to. I had the Catfish Po' Boy. The fish is excellent with great coating. It has that nice crunch on the outside but when you crack open the shell you see the steam from the fish. Only complaint is that it's too much fish for the bread. After I put aside one piece it was sandwichable. Last was the fried okra. Perfect. Great sauce. We'll be visiting again even though we stopped going to the mall. I'd love to see them in their own space one day. read more

I was really excited to try this place out! It did not disappoint. The shrimp po boy sandwich was full of flavor and it was so delicious. The beignets were definitely different than what I'm used to. They're a little more doughy than what I have tried before, and they have like a syrup on them. But pair it with one of their sauces I tried the chocolate it was so delicious. Don't let the pictures for you. The po boy sandwich was really big. I had to eat half now and half later. The service was great! They were very nice and welcoming. Can't wait for it to grow in to their own restaurant on day! It's a great addition to the slow mall. read more

I came a couple days ago and the food was delicious! I got the catfish po boy which was loaded with flavor. I don't leave reviews often, but how friendly and engaging the staff was made a great impression on me!!. I wasn't expecting to find this gem inside the mall, but I'm glad I gave it a try. The Customer Service was good , the gentleman in front let me know which items were popular ! The food is cooked fresh to order and in front of you which is nice watching it get prepared! I ordered the loaded bourbon fries, they were good ! They had a nice light Cajun seasoning on the fries topped with lettuce, pickles slices , a thousand island sauce and a sweet glazed bourbon chicken on the top. It was good and almost tasted like a bourbon chicken sandwich with all the toppings! The fries and shrimp were cooked nicely, I ended up trying it with the bourbon sauce instead & it was good, but will probably do a shrimp po boy instead next time it looked better! The cookies here are delicious as well nicely balanced not overly sweet! read more

The two gentlemen who served me upfront were so friendly! The beignets were soft, warm and fluffy! Incredible! I'd make the drive to the Oaks just to eat that. Price was so reasonable and you get so much of it. A hidden gem of a dessert! read more

We were greeted by the staff who were very friendly. They had a welcoming vibe with lively music that filled the typically boring dining area. We only had time to try 2 dishes: The fried okra was cooked to perfection and was complimented with the dipping sauce. We got a small size and it was surprisingly a lot and very filling! The beignets were amazing! I ordered 6 and they are pretty filling. Eating them while they are still warm is the best! They were lightly sweetened with powdered sugar and the Nutella dipping sauce added that extra sweetness. There was extra glaze under the beignets and it was so yummy! I'm looking forward to coming back to try the catfish and bourbon wings. read more
